So oddly enough, our cleats have the most interaction with our playing environment, yet we don't give much thought past "are they the right colour?", and "are they comfortable?

I have worn Puma Fusion Spikeless for the past couple seasons. They aren't terrible, but when you lace them tight, they give you lace burn across the top of your foot. If you have played hockey, you probably know what I'm talking about. I didn't play on a regular basis when I bought them so I didn't care much. Fast forward into a very serious season of golf and these weren't cutting it. They have poor traction on wet grass, which is multiple cons in itself, mediocre traction in dry grass, and get weird stains from the laces.

After my final slip on the tee box, I mentally commit to getting spiked golf shoes. I find myself at golf town one dayand say, "today is the day". I go in and I already have it shortlisted... Black, spiked, FJ, probably tour model. I then see that selection is incredibly limited by both size and spiked. Under armor was out fast, FJ eco was terrible, and Nike Max Fly were too small. By chance I found out I am an 11 in FootJoy, but with no selections, I start to leave and then see this pair of FootJoy Flex XP in black, size 11 on the clearance shelf. Instant fit, instant satisfaction. So, I got Spikeless shoes, when I needed spiked but wow, these things grip. They fit form around your foot, they are so bloody comfortable, and they have incredible traction!!! They certainly have less lateral stability then a traditional cleat, but it is very adaptable. They provide incredible feedback when walking the green, or your line to find the undulations and their subtleties. They even wash easy, and aren't uncomfortable for both long days and walking on asphalt. These cleats dig into the bunker quite well, and on a side note, I kicked my cooler hanging from my cart multiple times and my feet didn't hurt like most things Acushnet creates, they are not a disappointment.
