edingc
I wanted to do a quick summary of how a golf bag is actually strapped into the Nitron. You may recall from my introduction that I really liked the strapless bag arms on my CaddyTek and this was an area of concern for me with the Bag Boy. The top of the Nitron features the "Top-Lok Technology" system. For those of us who do not have the bags with this attachment system, the cart features two small cradle arms that fold around to hold the top of the bag to the cart with elastic cords. The elastic cords use a hook and loop system to attach to each other. The hook end is easily adjustable with two simple friction fit slots that pinch onto the cord. The bottom of the cart uses a very similar setup, but there are no folding cradle arms. I like the bungee system for it's ease of use. It's very simple to get my bag on and off the cart. I have been pleasantly surprised with the Nitron's attachment system. The small nylon strap on the end of the "loop end" of the cord feeds easily through my Sun Mountain Sync's cart strap slot. Most importantly, I'm finding that my bag moves around much less than it did with the CaddyTek's top bag arms. So far, the only issue I've had with this area of the cart is that the top arms can pinch the sides of my bag too much, making the clubs that are in those areas rub as they are put in and out of the bag. Unfortunately, the stiffer upper rim of my bag doesn't extend down quite far enough to prevent this. Preeway
I think you are using the wrong part of the cord to secure the bag. I believe you are supposed to use the plastic part on the cable to secure into the hook rather than the webbing on the end of the cord. I was doing it this way too until I realized the difference. I believe this allows for greater adjustability in regards to how tight the strap is which thereby allows smaller bags to also be just as secure as larger bags. edingc, GolfSpy_SHARK, Hobert and 1 other 4 Quote Driver: Aerojet LS, Ventus Blue Shaft - 6S 4 Wood: Rogue ST Max 16.5, Tensei White Shaft - 7S Utility Iron: Fli Hi 3-iron, HAZARDOUS Smoke Black Shaft - S Irons: JPX 921 Tour 4-P, Project X Shafts - Stiff 125g Wedges: 52º, 56º, 60º Putter: Ai-One 7 T CH, 34" Preferred Ball: Z-Star Diamond Pushcart: Nitron Rangefinder: Tour V5 Shift

Given my track record so far, I might be doing this wrong, too. I assumed that other plastic piece was just to keep the bungee cord in a general loop shape... I'll have to look closer at this! GolfSpy_SHARK
Disregard my statements previously about a grease port! I didn’t look at it much earlier during the round but it’s not a grease port (which I thought was odd) it is just a nut and round head for the adjustable handle! side note there are several slots around on the cart. So far I really like the phone holder (assuming that’s what this is) Any other testers know what this is for? Preeway
Wanted to give some thoughts on the accessories found on the handle. I'm very impressed with the bottle/cup holder, tray, phone holder and bag under the handle. While it's true that this won't hold large formate containers, it has fit everything I've tried to carry so far. The star cut rubber design allows for extra support for smaller containers like cans but still fits larger Gatorade bottles too. My bad has a "cooler" pocket that I can use if I wanted to bring a 32oz water jug. The tray has a clip attachment that holds scorecards extremely snug. I can't help but think this is slowly becoming obsolete as people are starting to track scores on various phone apps these days but I still like paper and pencil. The pencil holder is either poorly designed or the pencils I have are just too big. I'll have to try a couple more times to see if I can get a pencil to fit properly but the last time I tried to secure a pencil I nearly broke the lead when securing it in place. The phone holder at first glance appears awkward but works great. The only reason I wouldn't keep my phone here is if it's too hot in the sun or if it's raining. Otherwise I have yet to have the phone fall out and I've used the cart over some pretty bumpy terrain. When you lift the lid you have space for 3 golf balls and ample space to hold a few items like wallet and keys and your phone if you don't wish to leave it out. Even though this is just had plastic, it's really well designed and doesn't feel cheap. Speaking of rain, the umbrella holder shown here secures by screwing it into hole on either the left or right side of the handle. There is a hole on both sides. I haven't had a reason to test out this feature but I think it would work great as long as the wind isn't excessive. Assuming you have a typical golf umbrella, it should be able to keep the top of your bag dry as well as the handle area and the bag underneath. Last, but certainly not least, the bag under the handle is my favorite feature. My current cart has a triangle shaped net at the base of the handle and I don't like leaving everything exposed. The bag is large enough to carry a lot of items and it's where I keep my rangefinder. I really like the fact that it keeps things shaded and out of sight. When making the turn I am a lot more comfortable leaving items in the pouch when making a quick trip inside to grab a dog and beverage. Playing tomorrow and I plan to have at least one trial run of letting it roll down a hill unattended to see if tips or stays upright. Might even put the phone in the holder and record GoPro style, lol edingc, StrokerAce and GolfSpy_SHARK 3 Quote Driver: Aerojet LS, Ventus Blue Shaft - 6S 4 Wood: Rogue ST Max 16.5, Tensei White Shaft - 7S Utility Iron: Fli Hi 3-iron, HAZARDOUS Smoke Black Shaft - S Irons: JPX 921 Tour 4-P, Project X Shafts - Stiff 125g Wedges: 52º, 56º, 60º Putter: Ai-One 7 T CH, 34" Preferred Ball: Z-Star Diamond Pushcart: Nitron Rangefinder: Tour V5 Shift
GolfSpy_SHARK
Got 18 in today.. I am now tracking mileage on the nitron and today put 5.98 on her. Kind of cool to track got a few videos. One of the brake, which is probably my favorite feature right now. You can hear once you flip the handle when it locks it clicks. Thing is solid doesn’t move: Also I enjoy letting the cart just roll down hills I know it should be stable on. Rolls perfectly. The cart has a little give which makes rolling smooth. Sways left and right slightly (has bars at the base connection to the frame) which definitely helps stability down these hills Preeway, Hobert, edingc and 1 other 3 1 Quote Check out my reviews: G710 Irons Official Review I MC Shaft & V Series Putter Official Review 2022 Forged Tec's Official Review I Nitron Push Cart Official Review WITB: Weapons of grass destruction (link to WITB) Traverse is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green U505 Driving Iron 17* - Project X HZRDUS Black SpeedZone 4H - Project X HZRDUS Black 2022 King Forged Tec's 4-PW - KBS $ Tape 130 48 (SM8), 52 & 60 (SM7) - Nippon Modus 125 S ER2VI PROV1X #19 Are you a veteran? edingc
Had another opportunity to use the umbrella holder this morning, but... I left the umbrella in the car because I didn't think it was going to rain! Thankfully, the heavy stuff was very short so I made it around without everything getting too wet. I haven't added a ton of thoughts in here beyond my initial impressions because, frankly, this is a solid cart! It rolls well, it is stable even on uneven terrain, it looks good and the Nitron feature works as advertised. My only concerns at this point are the longevity of the Nitron opener and also the mechanism used to adjust and secure the handle. Those two areas seem like they will wear out the quickest, how quickly is the question. Speaking of the handle, you have to fold/unfold the handle section each time you unfold/fold the cart to get it fully compacted for storage. My CaddyTek did not require this, once I adjusted the handle to my liking I never needed to adjust it. That might be my biggest negative to the Bag Boy design. That being said, I counted "Mississippis" the other day when I got to the course and I was able to have the cart out, unfolded and bag loaded and strapped in about 30 seconds. Not bad! Preeway
Got in another 9 today on a local par 3 course with two of my boys. I went out of my way to park on sidehills to see whether it would turn/pivot with the brake on. On any hill with more than a gentle slope I found that I had to have the braked wheel above the other. If the braked wheel was below then it would start to roll. I don’t really consider this a major inconvenience but something worth noting that will go in my final review. sirchunksalot, GolfSpy_SHARK, Hobert and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: Aerojet LS, Ventus Blue Shaft - 6S 4 Wood: Rogue ST Max 16.5, Tensei White Shaft - 7S Utility Iron: Fli Hi 3-iron, HAZARDOUS Smoke Black Shaft - S Irons: JPX 921 Tour 4-P, Project X Shafts - Stiff 125g Wedges: 52º, 56º, 60º Putter: Ai-One 7 T CH, 34" Preferred Ball: Z-Star Diamond Pushcart: Nitron Rangefinder: Tour V5 Shift
Hobert
I noticed the beginnings of some cosmetic wear from unfolding/folding the cart. Kind of a shame because it is so good looking.
