Bag Boy Nitron Cart - 2023 Forum Review

I've really come to appreciate the Nitron system. I'll be honest, before testing this cart I always wondered, "What's so hard about opening a cart?" It is so simple to open/close this thing, I love it.

My season is winding down but so far I've gotten about 25 18s and 50+ nines on it and it has held up remarkably well.

Agree 100%. I really appreciate how easy it is to open. Co clunkiness and nothing to tighten down.

Getting chilly in the mornings again. It was right around 44 when I teed off this morning. While the hand warmer attachment isn't as good as a pair of gloves, it does a great job keeping the chill off. Although I thinned a pitching wedge on my third hole of the day and felt that for quite some time - definitely no fault of the cart or mitt!

That is on my list of additions. Not really cold enough yet but it isn’t that far away.

Threw another 5.5 miles last week on the cart. Coming down to the last few weeks of golf.

no major issues right but Definitly noticing the piston is a little slower opening. I have not really cleaned the very so wondering if some debris is getting around there. Going to give it a good clean at the end of the season

Sadly, my last few rounds were on driving carts for various reasons but my next few rounds should back in the cart. Really need to get that hand warmer attachment!

Golf season is over for me here in Michigan. We had a nice day yesterday, so I took the opportunity to clean up and put away the Nitron for the winter.

I don't know how many miles I put on the cart, but it was a lot. I tallied somewhere around 1,000 holes of golf while walking with the Nitron this season. I also started using it to bring my entire bag out to the driving range, so the Nitron opener has been used in excess of 200 times already with no signs of wear.

The cart cleaned up really well, with no major changes to anything that we discovered during testing. The paint scrapes from the hinged areas have not really gotten worse:

 

I gave the cart a good spray down with the hose and put some protectant on the plastic parts. The cart is now folded up and fit snugly in the carrying bag, ready for next spring!

Going to order a bag for mine too. I think I have two rounds left in me before I have to shut it down so I too will be doing some cleaning and lubing as well.

The Nitron is cleaned up and packed away. Hosed it off yesterday and see no wear still like the other testers on the pivot point. Again not sure why.

Looking forward to putting a ton more miles on her next year!

Got one last round in today with the Nitron. It rained/drizzled/misted almost the whole time so I finally got to see how the umbrella attachment worked out. All in all, I was a fan of the attachment. I would venture to guess if the winds were more than 15mph I would expect to have had problems with the cart tipping over or the umbrella flying out of the handle. I like the stretch band loop that in theory should help keep the umbrella secure but it didn’t always work when the wind gusted. I also noticed when I have the handle in my preferred pushing position, the umbrella wasn’t quite perpendicular. 

This wasn’t always a problem and at times was preferred if the wind was more at my back. To get the umbrella more upright I had to position the handle more upright than I would normally prefer. 

It wasn’t that windy today so it worked well to keep it this way and have the handle in a different position than usual. Final takeaway, I like the umbrella holder and it’s functionality so long as the winds are less than 10-15mph. Anything more and I don’t think you could keep an umbrella connected to the cart. I don’t think this is unique to the Nitron as I would expect any cart to have issues with an attached umbrella if it’s windy.

Review on BagBoy Nitron:

I know this is an older forum and I'm sure with 13 pages of comments a lot of this will be repeated info. But I have now played 5 rounds with the Nitron and I do love it. 

Pros:

• Folding and unfolding is a breeze. The lock for the fold also keeps it folded if you have it riding around in your trunk it won't pop open. Also very light and took less than 1 minute to set up out of box
• Looks - I have the Navy/Red and it is awesome. I have gotten a number of comments from friends saying they love it also
• Storage - the 3 ball divider in the top garage and room to put wallet/range finder in easily accessible spot is great. Huge pocket underneath for anything else you could bring along. Fit a sandwich/chips combo and a few Miller Lites from Becks Prime on Memorial Park in here with no issues lol
• Cup Holder AND Bottle holder - Cup holder is a must for me as I wanted to be able to put an open can in there between shots so I don't kick it over or put on wet ground and leave it behind. Additional bottle holder on the frame fits plastic bottles or smaller water bottles so I can fill up with water on course. Obviously neither fit giant yeti bottles or oversized Gatorades but almost no cupholders do
• Bag stays very secure - lots of comments of bag shifting so this one is hit or miss depending on your bag but mine fits in like a glove. I've dumped bag on a few previous carts that had no straps

Areas of Improvement:

• Handbrake only locks 1 wheel - my biggest gripe. The brake location is great overall but it would be next level if it locked 2 wheels. The cart can spin if you are on a hill since only 1 breaks. Still 8/10 break though
• Pencil holder- maybe this is user error here but it's not very intuitive and I've dropped my pencil a number of time. They just don't seem to fit in very well
• NO Tee holders?? - This was the most surprising thing. They are no built in holes to put tees. I'm currently using the umbrella attachment hole which works fine since I don't have an umbrella but if you used both attachment slots you wouldn't have anywhere to put tees. Thinking about just drilling some 3/16 holes into the plastic to have some dedicated spots
• Place for Glove - I've actually not seen one before but I wish it came standard with a Velcro strip so you could attach your glove between shots. I just added one to the side of the storage container

Overall 8.5/10. Still the best push cart I have ever used and I would 100% recommend it to anyone. Docking half a point each for the 1 wheel brake and no tee holders and as someone who works in manufacturing I know it's impossible to make a 10/10 product so I'm not surprised this was MGS top pick for push carts

Sounds like your sentiments feel strongly in line with the rest of the testers. I absolutely love my Nitron. It sounded like the ClicGear testers had very similar thoughts about their carts as well. Anyone wanting to join the pushcart mafia has two very strong options to choose from.

Too cold to play this weekend, but last week Sunday morning I had a great 18 hole walk. The Nitron came out of winter storage and was just as nice as I remembered:

I've been using it to take my bag out to the range again and still really enjoy how quick it is to pop open and use. The teeing stations are about 350 yards from the parking lot so it is nice to be able to roll the cart instead of lugging a heavy cart bag that distance.
