That is absolutely INSANE! I remember back in 2018 when the Brewers made a run to the NLCS and lost to the Dodgers in game 7, I was able to get 4 tickets for games 1 & 7 at face value in the terrace level of Miller Park behind home plate. I think it was something like $100 a ticket and Game 1 of that series is still THE BEST sporting atmosphere I have ever been a part of, which includes Week 17 against the Bears when the Packers had to beat them to get to the wild card and went on to win the Super Bowl, and the NFC Divisonal Game against the Cowboys. 

When Brandon Woodruff went yard off Clayton Kershaw, it is still the loudest I have ever heard a sporting venue as the roof was closed. I get chills watching it back on YouTube. Best part was my buddy called the shot as Woody was walking up to the plate.

Ticket scalping and obscene profits over face value is something that bothers me to no end.

... Nice! This is the listed price so I have no idea if they will get that. But needless to say even face value at $800 with tax and $50 to park is also insane. Friend of mine goes to church several blocks away from the stadium and they have their own covered parking lot. They are selling parking spaces for $35 during the WS. He pays for a yearly parking sticker but he can't use it during the WS.

... In keeping with the earlier Western Theme, I thought I would share my latest piece of art from Mark Maggiori. It is mesmerizing in person. I was thrilled I was able to get in on his last drop of 500 in June with a print numbered 455 because he sells out almost immediately. And my framer always does an amazing job. I needed help to hang it at 5.5 feet by 4.5 feet.

I was able to see my Braves in Game 4 of the 2021 series - still one of my favorite sporting events ever (even though we were joined by an unwelcome guest in the section over ).

... I need to find the best place to post these, but thought I'd post a preview in the Saloon. I received my Vokey SM9 Euro wedges for winning the Ryder Cup contest. Not sure how I come in 200th place or above for virtually every golf pick'em contest then jump right to winning one but I am not complaining. These SM9 wedges are just stunning in person. This finish is beautiful and I really like the tear drop shapes. The Euro flag engraving is subtle in some light and a little more pronounced in a different light. I haven't played 3 specialty wedges outside my set wedge in probably 15 years so this should be interesting.

... It may not help this season but the trade for Montez Sweat is great news for the Bears future. Assuming they get Williams or Maye in April, a legit pass rush along with a solid run game and play action is a QBs best friend.

... Go big or go home. With the rest of the season to impress the coaches and GM, Sweat should be motivated. It is such a glaring need I don't know how you don't make the trade. If it works, Bears pay the new contract. If it doesn't they are better off with their players that know the GM tried to improve a losing team. So yea, if it turns into a half year rental for a 2nd round pick it will suck. But doing nothing to improve sucks worse imo.

Completely agree.   Can’t just write the season off and have to show desire to improve.  Plus with two potentially high first round picks a second round pick is a little more if a luxury than a necessity

... I have never understood the idea that a draft pick is more valuable than a proven player. Especially the Bears that don't have the best track record in the draft. Would anyone rather have Carimi, McClellin, White, Floyd or Fields over Sweat? And those are first round picks. To me a 2nd rounder for a proven talent, especially at a position of need, is really a no brainer. A little different pf course if the player has red flags like Claypool, but even then I give Poles credit for at least trying to improve his anemic offense.

... Of course draft picks are valuable and I am hoping the Bears can use that value to draft Maye or Williams which can finally turn their offensive Titanic around. But we both agree a proven player beats a ? every time. The chances of picking up an edge rusher as good as Sweat in the 2nd round is right around 0%. Worst case scenario is the Bears give him the Franchise tag next year so they get him for this season and next IF they can't work out a deal. 

... And at least we get one more week of a real QB against the Saints. The thought of Fields returning to the line up is too unpleasant to even contemplate after watching Bagent get the ball out of his hands in under 3 seconds consistently, and usually to the correct option. Listening to the announcers say last game "The Bears need Fields back because he is obviously the better option. He is so physically talented and has a much higher ceiling than Bagent" is echoed by ignorant reporters and too many fans. Again Fields is eerily like Trubisky that could destroy you if his first read was open but fell apart quickly when his primary is covered and if they aren't sacked, they throw too many picks into coverage they don't recognize. If that is their average, does their hypothetical ceiling even matter? 

... Here is a scary thought both ways. Imagine Peyton Manning in Field's body and then imagine Fields in Manning's body.

Is it just me... or are NFL quarterbacks just getting more serious injuries this year.  NFL Fantasy Football 2023 - 24 is like playing the lottery this year.  No clue which QBs will survive the whole year without getting seriously injured.

... Rough year for sure and you hear some idiots saying QB's should "wear skirts" because they are over protected. As Dlineman/LB's have gotten bigger and incomprehensibly much faster, hits on a stationary QB can be catastrophic. Although the irony of course is both Rodgers and Cousins tore their achilles in a non contact injury, bit at least they were trying to avoid the catastrophic hit. I think we need to enjoy football while we can because the players have gotten too big/strong/fast for the game that was invented to be played without facemarks.

... Don't do the crime if ya can't do the time. I did no crime but had to work at a Country Radio station doing the afternoon drive shift for a year. I had to MC concerts and had to do an appearance at a Truck n' Tractor Pull   so I certainly did the time. One of my biggest problems I have after growing up in the South is the ridiculous accents some use when singing. 

... That said there are Country music songs I enjoy, Free/Into The Mystic by the Zach Brown Band is one of my favorite songs. Little Big Town pops up on my Thumbprint Pandora station. I also sheepishly admit to enjoying Pontoon and Fancy Like so not a hater, just usually not an appreciater.
