BallsLeon
Received my mlm2pro last Friday, and I think it's going to be awesome but... I am struggling a bit with reliably setting it up outside on my net. Sometimes it seems to work, and other times all my clubs go 80-100yds. Not the most consistent ball striker, but I have a rough idea of my numbers from GC Quad/Skytrak units at my lessons. Finding that my net setup is not ideal, as ground behind my hitting mat slopes downhill and not level horizontally. I've experimented with elevating the unit, but I've found when you elevate it that moves the hitting area closer to the net. On top of a cooler for instance (~16") I had to move the unit back beyond 8.5ft from the mat to account for it. I also think it could be due to low light, as this corner is already shaded and overcast/sun setting sooner, I can barely make anything out from the videos when I was hitting at 3pm. However, I hit some over lunch when it was brighter and I was still ~10yds shorter than my lesson last night. My setup is hitting into a Spornia SPG-7 with ~3.5ft buffer gap between where I am hitting and the net (should be comfortably 8ft). Placing the unit roughly 7-8ft behind where I am hitting. Open to any suggestions, and a couple questions: Does the video always center you in the frame, or am I setting it up cockeyed? Also, should it be asking me my location and hitting direction every time (it's only ever done this once)? golfinnut
Thanks Also, when you're in "practice" mode. Let's say I'm hitting a bunch of drivers, so I want to be able to see all the data. I change out shafts each time, so I want to change the color of the 'data' so I know which is which when I go back to review it. Can I change the color scheme of it during play? 10 shots = shaft A = Red 10 shots = shaft B = Blue 10 shots = shaft C = Green Etc. Quote WITB: Do I like Titleist or what? I don't believe so, I create a few extra clubs to use when I want to do a direct compare... so I have a 2-wood, AW, and 3 Iron in there. I would just use the 2-wood for shaft 2 in your example and the 3 iron for shaft 3. GolfSpy_BEN
After the community call planted the seed, I checked Rapsodo Courses for Banff Springs and found it. I tried to play it but the app kept crashing each time I hit start simulation. After 3 tries, I gave up and played one I had previously played. Got through that 18 fine, finished with a 75. Started another round and the app crashed during the 7th hole, rather start over I moved on to the E6 app. Started a round at sanctuary, it recognized the first shot, but then didn’t get any of the next six or seven balls I hit. Rather frustrated at that point, I turned everything off and gave up for the night. My best guess, is that it is a lighting issue and not the equipment being overly glitchy. GaDawg
Finally had the opportunity to get my MLM2Pro out on the range this afternoon. It was my first time using it and it only took me about 15 minutes to get it going. I had already loaded my clubs in the system. I could not get it to pick up my gap wedge, but was able to hit 8i, 6i, 3w and driver. It was kinda windy and it only failed to pick up a handful of shots. GolfSpy_BEN
I played a full round and 2 partial rounds today through the MLM2Pro in conjunction with the E6 app for the iPhone. The full round was at Sanctuary, a course located in Colorado in reality. What I liked: E6 takes altitude and elevation into account along with the launch monitor data that the MLM provides for the simulator. For Sanctuary, a course that plays above 6000 feet, clubs were playing 2 clubs longer. For example, I had a good strike with the 4 utility that carry 293 yards . During a subsequent round at Aviara, that same clubs went no further than 215 yards, at 50 feet above sea level. The holes played at Wade Hampton, 3000 +\- feet, saw that club go 250 yards and some change. The Rapsodo Courses does not have this functionality. What I didn’t like: There are still too many shots that don’t get picked up and chipping on E6 or Rapsodo Courses is still a bit hit or miss, even after the firmware update. The auto-putt function on E6 is a petty and punitive son of a b!*ch. Twice I hit approach shots that were golden leaving 6 and 8 feet to the hole, both times it auto putted me for 2 putts (yes, I’m aware that you can control this in the settings, that info didn’t do me any good mid round though) All that said, the MLM2Pro is a massive upgrade over its predecessor and I am having a good time figuring out all of the improvements and nuances of this device. Clearly it wasn’t using an LAB putter. I’d still like to know the logic the computer uses for auto putts. I remember being at work on e6 and auto-finishing within like 25 yards to save time since I was on lunch. I probably had 4 long birdie putts and the. 4 times I took 3 from 15 yards away. That’s really cool to see the elevation changes are taken into account with the e6 app! xOldBenKenobiX, GolfSpy_BEN, Golf2Much and 1 other 4 Quote Qi10 - Terra Forza White | Speedzone 5-wood - Ventus Blue 8S | G430 3-Hybrid - Kai'li White 80s SMS Pro 4-PW - Steelfiber i110S | MG3 Raw Black 50.09, 54.11, 58.11 - DG TI S200 Mezz Max | Pro V1x | Vortex Blade | Ghost Maverick Black Ops - Forum Edition | CaddyLite EZ v8

My question then is did you think the loss of accuracy was due to lighting brightness indoors or some other factor? GolfSpy_APH
Lightning definitely matters. But I also found that is hard for something to be too bright for it. Thank you, this helps. I have 4 lights. If it doesn't work with what's there now, I guess I could start experimenting with lights over and/or behind the unit to see what works. If I do this, I will report the results. BTW, any suggestion on a hitting net that is as quiet as possible. I live in a retirement community that is really quiet, and I hesitate to make noise even in the middle of the day. I built my own net using 2” pvc pipes and a custom net from Just for Nets. I’d read several reports about prebuilt nets that failed after a season or two, and let a ball fly thru the net. The net itself is quiet, however ball/club impact, especially with the driver makes noise. The are several DIY YouTube videos on making a net. You also might consider using steel pipe. Make sure to research hitting mats and get a quality one. Your wrists, elbows, and shoulders will thank you. Gotta keep loose. When there were no houses behind me I used to hit birdie balls into those lots. I also chip wiffle balls in to the back yard. I just don't remember where I bought it. GolfSpy_BEN
Keep running into this issue any time I try to export a swing video Did any of the testers encounter this error and if so, what is the fix? Also, there is a lot to like about the simulator function. I especially like the E6 app that can be used in conjunction. With one small complaint. The autoputt seems overly punitive. Between auto putting 3 when you are just off the green and a chip would conceivably put you within one putt range or sticking your approach to 6 feet and having it auto putt for 2 is aggravating, to put it mildly. xOldBenKenobiX 1 Quote WITB: D: GT-2 10° w/ GD Tour AD-UB 6s 3W: GT-3 15 Tensei Black 75 X 3h: G430 18° Tour 2.0/Stiff 7W: 21° Rogue ST Max LinQ 7X 4i: Pro 225 with Project X io 6.0 6i-PW: Pro 225 with Recoil 110 f4 50,54° & 58°: SM-10 P: Link.1 Ball: Pro Plus Drip Bag: Ghost MGS Anyday 14 way "And so, we beat on, boats against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past." - Fitzgerald ” The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.” - Frost "That you are here—that life exists and identity, That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse." - Whitman

Yes I was never able to properly export any of my videos. I ended up doing screengrabs instead. xOldBenKenobiX and GolfSpy_BEN 2 Quote as of Oct 5, 2024 (Past WITB) Driver: GT2 with Graphite Design AD CQ - check out the Driver Shootout!
