IndyBonzo
I just found this thread and this sounds really cool and exciting. Part of that is because I had a negative fitting experience this time last year, where honestly I did not think the fitter gave a crap about whether the clubs worked for me or not, and this hyper-personalization and dedication really strikes a welcome chord. I will follow this for sure. Also, those clubs - especially the copper -- look SICK! EDIT: To clarify, I was reacting to the protocols for the in-person fittings. I, like others, am a bit skeptical about the remote fittings, but am open to listening on that front. It is pretty expensive for starters and one of the best parts about a fitting is allowing someone else to interpret the data to ensure you are in the best product possible. Doing it all yourself allows various bias' to come in and is limited to the simulator and such that you have available to. As well as your own general product knowledge. I get the pricing - I just am hesitant that with the pricing and everything else you are basically doing all the work yourself and if you don't do an adequate job you have fit yourself into a bad set and only have yourself to blame. If this product is particularly unique with its sole designs etc that is all the more reason to have an expert with you to explain and go through the process with you. I am sure the product is just fine, but I see enough red flags I would be hesitant to take the plunge for the given cost. Josh Parker
I guess the part I'm confused on with it all is that he is so big on the fitting process and whether or not a lesson or fitting needs to be done first on his website and Instagram. Unless there is more to the "box" that we don't know, it would seem like it would be more beneficial for the customer to have just the heads shipped for a "deposit fee" and taken to an actual fitter in your town and pay for an actual fitting. I'll be interested in hearing more @Nolan220 if you end up doing this. I really like the look of the clubs and the soles are similar to Srixon which are my current sticks. JAYER38
Just my assumption of the process and from seeing the social media posts. I imagine they have a process you follow and record your data, use spray for club head contact, etc. I will say I've seen alot of outdoor use with there fitting system which is preferred in my opinion to get a real feel for the club and your swing/ball flight. Nice part I see with this is you could probably take more then a day vs if your feeling "off" during your fitting it is what it is kind of. Would be cool if we could get a group together to do this and help each other out making choices as we go thru the fitting. That also does mean the fitting isn't truly $300, but closer to $400 or so because you'll likely have to pay for their time and efforts as well (the fitter you are seeing). Once all the clubs are hit and we look over the results, we then write out a prescription for OEM heads and shafts as well as custom Foreward options. so far we have fit 20 people remotely from pros to beginners. GolfSpy_BOS
Even generally knowing my likely specs I'm not sure id be willing to fork over hundreds of dollars to get a kit of clubs where I could basically do the same thing for free at my local PGASS. There's a lot that goes into interpreting the data and fine tuning the strike location with weight, lie adjustments, shaft profile changes, etc. Just as an example, last year when I was being fit for my Edel irons my fitter showed me a chart on the flightscope report of how consistently I was delivering a particular shaft. Turns out while I loved the shaft I was using there were better option to improve the consistency in my swing. Without his expert knowledge, the Flightscope, and the software, I would not have been able to tell that from my swings. Then there's the social aspect of it. I enjoy going to my fitter and the experience of trying out new clubs and talk all things golf. I guess that was just a long way of saying I'm not sure I get the value proposition of this fitting model from foreward golf. Syks7
I've been following this guy since I talked to @GolfSpy SAM earlier this year. He's started to get more in depth into the process and I've watched parts of a couple Livestream fittings. It's a pretty intriguing and extremely well thought out methodology. I love the granular detail about all the variables they check. I saw one video where George Gankas went through the process and was surprised how much he liked the Jumbo grips the fitting suggested -- based on how it seemed to enhance a swing feel of his. Its high in my list to go do a fitting. Not necessarily for new irons, but to see what my 'scrip' looks like based on all the variables. From there I may tune what I have since I'm reasonably sure ( through lots of trial and error) that I've found the sole design that's best for me.
