I've heard good things, but haven't played there yet. Coincidentally, I may be playing there this upcoming weekend and will report back if I do!

If you are heading this way from Cleveland, a course that is definitely worth checking out is Apple Valley: https://www.applevalleygolfcourse.com/

Not my a bad course just not my favorite course in or around Columbus. Cumberland trails has become a course I have been playing a few times a month and enjoying it.

I also think it's worth playing the virtues, east of Columbus. I also agree apple valley is well worth it.

Thanks for the info guys. I've had Apple Valley on the list to try and get to for a few years now. And I know about the really good stuff in CBus - Cumberland, Virtues, Denison and the RTJ courses. One day I'll get down there.

Thanks,

I have not played that course, but I know it is supposed to be one of the top courses in the Youngstown area. I know who the architect is, and he local but his courses are some of my favorites in the area. They are modern designs, but not tricked up/brutal like some other modern course designers make things.

Also if you are going to be up here for a few days, why not meet for another round?

Hello Ohio Spies! I wanted to share some information on a 4-man scramble coming up that a friend of mine is running and coordinating to raise money for ALZ Research. It was very well done last year, and this year is even better! It will be held at The Medallion Club in Westerville, and they have a lot of really great prizes!

Kensington has some huge greens. Islay in his shadow too.

Others in the area. Mill Creek, and Firstone Farms.

Hope your and the golf went well.

I'm 68, I've played golf since I was 10. Any day on the golf course is a good day, even if it's not a good round.

Fun course, big greens, a few tricky holes. Gofing went very well and we came in with a solid 56 which tied for first place. They had two trick holes. One par three you paid $20.00  and you got a birdie. We hit anyway and still got a birdie. The other was you paid $100 on a par 5 and that put you on the edge of the green between two flags with a 52 foot putt. I drained it for the albatross. We raised 150 k for charity.

Of course I got hung up with the airline debacle. Trying to fly home on that Friday was a mess.

I think it's about time to plan another meet up. The next few weekends are booked, but everything opens up August 24 then on for the rest of the season.

Want to play Ashland CC again? Or try Brookside, it's the other course in Ashland. Or do 36 and play both?

Any other suggestions?

Not sure the format so I’ll ask the silly question - is this an overnight thing or 36 on one day?

Would be 36 in one day, if enough are up for it. There's some Columbus guys that want to play so there's a handful of courses that are about half-way between CLE & CBUS. We normally get something for late morning so no one has to get up too early.

I have an event this fall I am hosting if anyone is interested! 2 Man scramble on Columbus Day at a Donald Ross track (Miami Valley). https://www.golfgenius.com/pages/4622411

If anyone wants to play Country Club of the North let me know. I am a member so even if I can't play, I can still get you out.

Thought I had replied to this, so if it’s a repost, terribly sorry:

I’m definitely a one round a day person, plus the drive. In any case, count me in for the morning round! Looking forward to meeting ya’all!
