I always take these with a grain of salt. I would say the numbers are relatively accurate but there are a lot of factors not brought up.

The stats say for ams that the distance for a 50-50 make/miss rate is just under 8 feet. So anything over that my only thought is "get it close" and avoid 3 putting .. not "oh s#*! I'm gonna 3 putt"... 😄

In general I would say most ppl think putting is easier than it actually is.

The biggest thing for me is reading greens. I really need to get better at it.

We all think we should be sinking pretty much everything within 3 feet whereas the figures would suggest otherwise. It certainly appears to me that we have a tendency to inflate our expectations over ability on the greens

From 5-8 feet I would love to make 60-75 percent, but looking over the data that seems completely unrealistic. I know there is a huge difference in my expectations from a straight 5 footer to one with any sort of "significant" break where one is I must make it vs one that is well I don't want to 3 putt.

I wonder how much far off of expectations making 60-75% of straight 5 footers are if you don't include any with any significant side break.

Might be a bit lofty to have those 5-8 foot numbers but with practice it could be doable.  PGA average from 4-8’ is  69% and worst performer is 59%.    Why do you miss 5-8 footers?   What do you do to practice skills?    I would say straight 5 footers should be 90+ percent since it is just face angle control with a little speed control.  Face angle for a 5 footer is under 2* open or close.

Great points! Reminds me of a drill I used to do at least once a week. Place balls around a hole at 3 feet, 6 feet and about 10 feet at 4 different angles. Above, below and left and right of the hole. You have to keep putting until you make them all. Simulates pressure and each putt needs full concentration. Especially if you get to the last couple of putts. I haven’t made them all very often.

Play like a champion today!

I think I am going to try this. A bit worried about how long I might be out there though 😂
