Cobra King Ltd 3/4 Fairway Review

So after waiting and waiting I finally received my King Ltd 3/4 Fairway this weekend. And, do to the unusual warm weather in Indiana I took it out back and hit 5 balls with it. This after not swinging a club in almost 2 months. I had a Oban Kiyoshi Gold 75 05 with Cobra adapter that I used and set it at 14.5*.

First ball was an awesome topper that dribbled 50 yds towards the woods behind my house. Not a great start. The second ball I made sure I stayed down and absolutely felt like I murdered it. Great feel/sound off the face, nice high trajectory that seemed like it got up quick and stayed there forever. Balls 3-5 were just like #2.

Admittedly I am a Cobra fan (Irons and Driver), but have never loved their fairways or hybrids, although this isn't to say they were bad but more so I always found something I liked better. This fairway has exceeded my expectations and I am extremely excited for golf season to come (this will be a long 3-4 month wait).

I'll try and get some pics up later this week as I'm on travel for work all week. I can't give you any direct numbers or on course results (damn winter!!). I just wanted to give my initial impressions in case it helps someone make up their mind whether to purchase or not.

One last thing, the looks of this thing is awesome in my eyes. Not too big or too small head size. Same goes for the face, not too deep or too shallow and it looks great from address. If I were Goldilocks I'd say that this fairway was just right!!!

Update 1/13 - After seeing Cobra list this head size at 182cc I was surprised.  It doesn't seem that large at all and even seemed similar size or smaller than a RBZ Stage 2 Tour which I believe was around 165-167cc.  I haven't got any more time to hit it and probably won't for awhile but I did just buy a Cobra King F6 3-4 FWY so hopefully can get some comparison pics up when I receive it and will do a side by side review IF I still have both by the time golf season starts which can be a big IF, haha.

I'd love to but travel for work has been brutal the last 9 months with no end in sight of lightening up.  Couple that with a 5 month old and when I'm not on travel my time is pretty consumed.  I have a cousin who lives in Destin that I'm trying to find an excuse to visit.

It looks like it would set up really nice behind the ball. How is it off the tee?

I haven't had a chance to hit it yet off the tee.  One of my colleagues just informed me yesterday though that his club partnered with a place that has trackman and a bunch of other cool stuff and said you can play simulated courses.  I'm never in the office as I work remotely but our company kick off meeting is coming up soon so might be able to visit and get some numbers.
