I had that same setup with the White, but when my partner and I cleaned house in our sim league I got fit again and the AeroJet won.  I wasn't totally sold on the Cobra, but I arranged a sale on FB Marketplace in order to force myself to get used to it.

I played with it one last time that night and was striping it so much, even my opponents were trying to head the guy off in the parking lot to get me to not sell.  Now I'm back! I should've just used that money on a new putter instead!

I actually want to try the Black Ops and Paradym AI Smoke among others, but no since in trying since I had back surgery in January and even though I am released to do all things at end of April, it probably be a while before I gain my swing speed back, if I do. Once a club ho always a club ho.😁

I have driver envy and after testing out like 7 shafts on my AeroJet I just bought a used Rogue ST Max LS from Callaway Used for 25% off during the Masters which is what I sold when I bought the AeroJet.  What's old is new again, I just love the way this one feels of the face and it has a sick Project X LZ San Diego shaft that is silky smooth.

Is there another thread for what have you sold lately? Because I might have another couple of posts for that one too!

I am still playing this driver, Rogue ST Max LS with a Tensei Blue 65g stiff and midsize grip. It has been the straightes and longest driver for me. I haven't been able to try out anything new yet this year due to back surgery, but at least I have a starting point.

  3. I would say a Scotty with teryllium insert since I prefer putters with an insert. Something like that. I would probably hate it but it is a dream.

Second would be My S pider Tour X with L neck, I could afford one, but without trying one, wouldn't order one when I can't roll a few with it.

  4. This reminds me of the whole "people should dress up to fly on a airplane" conversation I have seen in the past, no I will dress how I feel comfortable and that is cargo shorts and a golf shirt that breathes and is untucked unless I am forced by a course to dress differently.

Some posters on here need to worry about themselves, not everyone else. Pace of play, divot repair and green fixing is far more important.

My rule would be no camo on the course including bags and hats, the camo craze is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. 😁

  5. For me it has been UST 780 ES Smacwrap Stiff. The weight has worked, help take strain and pain off my elbow from hitting off mats, and has been very consistent with my ZX 5 MKII heads. I have tried some other graphite iron shafts such as Aerotech Steelfiber, Misubishi MMT, and Fujikura Axiom, but the UST have been the best for me.

Note on the Axioms, they are stiiff as hell, actually too stiff for my taste.

  6. The one thing that has kept me from purchasing more clubs this year is back fusion surgery. I can't go hit any of the clubs I am interested in so that is holding me back. Even trying a putter made my back sore, but just in the last week things have started feeling better and I start PT today.

I can't wait to hit some new drivers, maybe the PXG Black OPS stuff and a few others, my concern is my swing speed will be down since I haven't swung a club since January and that will skew any results.

My Srixon ZX 5 MKii irons are safe and probably my putter, for now.

I acknowledge I have a problem buying clubs, but I embrace it.

I am really missing all the free club fittings and hitting clubs at PGA tour superstore that I usually partake in this time of year. 😭

While I don’t normally wear a golf glove, I will when hitting multiple shots in my hitting bay and when playing in hot, humid weather which I don’t normally do.  However, since we are headed to Virginia to play in the MGS Forum Outing at Kingsmill in late May, I’m assuming that it might be humid.

I prefer the Kirkland gloves because of the cost and they wear well.  Our Costco only carries the glove for the left hand and I wanted to also get a right hand glove.  So, while ordering online yesterday, I noticed that Costco carries True Linkswear shoes.  Well now…  I don’t need new shoes, but I haven’t worn Trues for several years.  Used to wear them all the time.  So, being a good ‘ho I ordered a pair for me and a pair for my wife (she has a difficult time finding a shoe that fits well) and if they don’t fit, it’s easy to return then… much easier that ordering from an online golf store.

My $28 purchase of 4 golf gloves just turned into $300.  😂  Oh well.

Golf ho and Costco ho. My free tire rotations at Costco always cost me $300.

In my collection I have Oakley flak 2.0 xl polarized but more often then not I just use my prescription glasses which are Oakley w/polarized transition lenses. But I also have foster grants, island eyes (gas station glasses that really work) old old old ray bans and a few others that are cheaply made but am a big Oakley promoter and more often than not I will be wearing them

What Oakley frame is that? I have some Oakley frames for my prescription glasses but they are no longer made.

  9. $420 + tax and shipping because that is how much is would cost me to build the custom version of the Scotty Scheffler Spider Tour, maybe not exact color scheme but same version. I haven't bought this because I am very happy with my current Tri Hot 5K blade putter that I purchased from Callaway second hand, but in true club hoe fashion I want to build and try it.

Hi, my name is Mike, and I'm a club ho. It's been only two days since my last club delivery... and then this one showed up like 3 weeks early.

Did I need a new putter? No. Did I even try it before buying it? Also no. Is it going to be my last putter purchase this year? (Probably) No. Ok, so which putter are you getting rid of now that you have this new one? It doesn't work that way...

Got the AI-One Cruiser Jailbird. For no reason at all, other than...I want one. Resisted the temptation to buy those special release versions after Rickie and Wyndham called so much attention to them, but caved on the AI-One. And it's niiice - only hit a few putts on the BirdieBall so far, but early signs point to it being in this year's rotation.

I really want to buy the Scotty Scheffler putter without trying it, I have a problem.

Wish I had a picture of it, but one time i wore a long sleeve dress shirt, bow tie, vest, and plus fours….. wonder whatever happened to my plus fours!?!? Not that i could squeeze any part of my fat self into them….

I have played in knickers a couple of times in Scotland. Made sense since the weather wasn't always great, not so much where I play in the states.

I lost the last of my dozen on day 4 or 5 of the 8 day Mesquite golf trip. I think it was on Wolf Creek, but I couldn't be positive. I did buy the 'buy 3 get the 4th dozen for free' box of the Chrome Tour X's.

Sounds about right, played Wolf Creek twice, I can't remember how many balls I lost on that course. Not my favorite down there maybe because my first experience was 115deg and almost 6 hour round due to idiots in front of us, this was in the first summer when they were open. The person that booked our tee times booked for10am or so, way too hot in summer to be teeing off then.

  13. I always wear a glove, always. I never take it off to chip or putt. That being said, if it is really hot and I start sweating through my glove, I will swap it out and put another one on and let the one dry. I never even notice I have it on. This only happens in summer when it is hot and humid occasionally, I don't sweat a lot usually unless they have watered the crap out of the course and it is really humid first thing in the morning.

Kirkland gloves 4 for like $23 works for me. I also use rain gloves on the occasion I play in the rain unless my hands start getting cold.

Callaway rogue st triple diamond 💎 ls ,

Bought this driver 2 years ago, really hit it well, ordered direct from Callaway in my specs , got it, played it, first round I was like nope, not working outdoors for me.

Returned to Callaway, they finally gave me a credit for full amount, turned around and ordered Rogue ST Max LS in my specs and was very happy from the start. The TD was nice, but I didn't perform with it.

I am more of a traditionalist, but it is due to the clubs I belonged to, and it was the dress code. It just became the norm for me. The materials these days are far superior for moisture wicking and, UV protection. Why would I want to wear a cotton tee shirt?

I don't care if you wear a hoodie because you are younger, and this is more in line with what the younger generation wears. But I do have a question. What is the purpose? I have never seen someone wear it on their head playing golf. PET PEVE, one thing that really annoys me is seeing someone driving their car down the road with the hood of the hoodie up on their head totally taking away their peripheral vision.

IMO worse is wearing headphones, they can't hear emergency sirens coming or other sounds pertinent to driving a car.

I have seen plenty of people wear a hoodie with the hood over their head and ears when playing, temp in mid 40s and wind blowing 20mph. I have done it, pull it up over my hat to cover my ears. I am usually wearing a FJ wind 1/4 zip pullover with it to block the wind. I prefer soft comfort and no wind. Good chance I am wearing jeans that day as well. We are talking March, April, maybe May, October, November, December in Colorado. Rest of the time I am wearing shorts and a collared golf shirt as I run warm, prefer not to play in jeans, but when it is cold, I have no issues with them.

As a 60yo man, I don't really care what people wear as long as they aren't dicking around on the course.

I actually prefer a hood on my rain jacket so I can pull it up over my hat and keep the rain off my glasses and hat. I like hoods on my outerwear.

I've played at a lot of courses - both exclusive and munis and have never run across people dressed inappropriately. Yes our private club in Ohio had a dress code - but late fall it was overlooked (most of the members were gone). At that club I wore (black) jeans and my wife wore flannel lined jeans - no way we were wearing regular golf gear when it was cloudy, wind blowing 20 mph and 45*. It didn't abide by the dress code but on the other hand it wasn't inappropriate.

I've never saw a 'dress code' at munis but then I was never looking for one. Have I seen on the course: mankinis? nope. Ladies dressed linked Paige? nope. I'm not offended by joggers type pants, cargo shorts, collarless shirts, ladies in short skirts, etc. I don't think munis need a dress code - most people use common sense. Private clubs - that's their prerogative and something you sign up for when you join. I'm more offended by smokers leaving their butts on the tee box & green or cigar smokers thinking everyone enjoys being downwind of you, then clothing others wear.

As to cost - yes name brand golf clothing can be expensive, but you can buy same brand golf gear at many discount stores and that clothing is no more expensive then your "daily" type of clothing. In Florida, we have a discount chain called Bealls - where you can generally buy Greg Norman or Nike shirts for $20. Shorts not that much more.

p.s. Where I think they need a dress code is at Walmart. I was there yesterday and the first 2 things I thought was "do you have a mirror at home?" and "do you really think spandex is flattering"?

I was with you until you said Greg Norman brand, ugh!

  18. Callaway Rogue st max ls with Tensei Blue 60gm stiff is still my gamer, I have really liked this driver and been consistent and long with it.

That being said, there are several new drivers I want to try this year including Black Ops, Callaway AI Smoke, Ping G430(ugh turbulators) Cobra Darkspeed, TM Qi10 etc. Looking for forgiving low spin driver that is long and straight, the unicorn driver.

But I can't even test anything until I heal from back fusion surgery and may not even try to get fit for a new driver until I am fully healed and have some back flexibility again, maybe next year.

For a brief time I used the Peltz 3 ball putter. At the time it was far and away the easiest putter to align. But the plastic face was absolutely horrible for distance control. My distance control was bad anyway, so at least I had good alignment. It's probably why I use an Odyssey 2 ball putter now.

    That is hideous.

I've worn jeans on courses in Montana because showing up in a pair of skinny man dress pants draws strange looks from the cows 🤪.

Same in Colorado, especially on the western side when weather is nasty or could turn nasty meaning early spring late fall. I even saw a guy playing in denim farmer coveralls with a long sleeve farmer work shirt at Devils Thumb in Delta, didn't bother me one bit, was probably a local.
