I'm back to playing thanks to 5 rounds of chemo, and currently play with 3 separate groups. In all of them, it's a sip of birdie juice from someone's flask. I actually had one tuesday, second shot on a par 4 never left the ground from 80 yds, and after curving around a bunker it settled a foot from the cup.

    Welcome back to the game!

My Cobra Forged Tec irons arrived today and I managed to get out after work for a couple of holes to give them a try. Have to say I’m loving them so far. They feel so good, lovely smooth strikes and a great flight on them. As promised for @sirchunksalot here’s a few photosIMG_5751.jpeg.42a28d75c6d970112316f21a489d58cf.jpegIMG_5750.jpeg.c3ee6574ab66f92ff6c7c46df6295bba.jpegIMG_5746.jpeg.0a63250edd3c7b5487cabaee999b03bc.jpegIMG_5742.jpeg.db15d59775b4fcbf02ac23253faba2c9.jpegIMG_5744.jpeg.4f4718769beab2ba59827125be0956fe.jpegIMG_5745.jpeg.523a21ed8dd1fbfb709de3be541088c7.jpeg

Just need to work out my distances with them now

    Dang nice set of sticks!

  3. Good call this afternoon. A little more than the usual banter as the Kingsmill trip is now on the near horizon. Good discussion about putters in general with more detail around the new Vice putters launched earlier this week. Style is not bad; however, Jamie mentioned the heavier weight could be an issue for some. Time will tell but they definitely gave them a number of available color combinations with possibility of future customization as well.

Went to the club to hit some chips and putt but the range was closed and the greens were being watered. The course was pretty empty due to a mid day tournament so I decided to go out and play 9... That turned into 18.

Shot a personal best of 84! Besides that, I played with the same ball for the first time ever. That's huge to me.

Hit some great chips to save par. Kept the ball in play off every tee box. Made a few bad swings and missed some putts that I shouldn't have but still very happy.

On top of that, met some great guys out there. Someone called me a "good golfer". That's crazy. There's levels to good.

Seems the lessons and constant practice is starting to slowly pay off.

Can't wait to fire a 110 next time out because golf....emoji23.png

Morning all, new to this so wanted to just get in and check things out. This is my first year with a membership to a club and have already played about as much or even more than I have in any season. Game is improving in the process. Still struggle with consistency (sounds like golf, right??), especially with the driver. Hope all is well.

Welcome to the Forum! Great group to get involved with.

Thanks WP and of course, you are 100% correct. Went out today, same course, same 9, hole locations a little different. I thought wind was going to be my biggest concern.(25mph with gusts of 33) I was generally pretty happy with ball striking today. Actually hit fairways and 5 GIR. Shot 39 which was much better than yesterday for sure. My downfall? I had three, 3 putt greens. Nope wind didn't cause any of it. It was the $%#@^%$ deerflies. I always had 4 or 5 deer flies constantly biting and buzzing my head. Even flying under my eyeglasses when I was putting. Talk about losing my concentration. Not sure if it was the white shirt or not but geez o peez. They were horrible today.

Glad you had a better day even if your local wildlife had other intentions...🤨

Neither of the fitters / fitting outfits that I use south have access to the Areteria Alpha shafts.. One outfit had never heard of them. While an interesting shaft, I don’t really want to travel north to find them to give them ago.. I would be more inclined to go way north and try the TPT shafts… I am not in desperate need of new shafts for the driver and/or 3w just looking and wondering.

How far North do you consider it to be "way North?"

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?

This is really my third year of golf.  I had golfed in my early 20's, but stopped for quite some time.   I'm 45 now, and really enjoy getting out.  I think my official HC is 31, but on any given day can trend into the 20's.

What do you love about golf?

Just getting out on the course and challenging yourself to be better than you really are.   The community, being able to golf with friends, meet new people at the course.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?

The community.  I am friends with @Preeway and golf together when I can.

Where are you from? What is your home course?

Omaha, NE.  I guess I'd consider Stone Creek Golf Course as my home course.

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?

In the Spring it rains, in the Summer its hot, in the Fall its windy, in the Winter its not possible.  But those seasons when its in, it can be really good.  Lush, green courses.

What do you do for a living?

Technology Product Manager for a large construction company

How’d you pick your user name?

    Been my nickname for years

Welcome to the Forum! I doubt anyone will hold knowing @Preeway against you...🤣
