    After listening to the forum call with Andy, reading the MGS best stand bag review, and doing a deep dive on the ghost golf website I am seriously considering applying for this opportunity.  Looks and sounds like a great bag! 

    @GolfSpy_APH ,  I was looking at the application questions and it asks if we walk or ride,  can't indicate both?   Also what if the bag we play is considered a hybrid stand/cart bag?

    There is nothing in the description that says the player has to get fit or how they need to get fit.  They could choose to do both with the in person one being done at their expense.  The follow on could be what do you consider an acceptable in person fitting approach?

    Haha.   You can tell by my sacks Parente review I love collecting and presenting data and to be honest when I read the details of this opportunity it kind of scared me.   This flightscope review will take some time and effort.  That said, i wish I had a place to be able to setup a mevo.

    Don’t see you post much on the forum;  where do you spend most of you time posting?   Post a what’s in the bag and what you think of the clubs you play, how your game going and what your working on,  ask people autism’s about their reviews or what they are doing. or just post some random stuff that  you think might be interesting to others on the forum.   Getting involved in the conversation is key to getting selected and not just applying for the tests.

Outside on grass it was such a different feel with the ultra low balance point that I could not get comfortable. The grip is very light. I couldn't hit my start line and speed control was so difficult for me. I spent 1/2 hour or so on the practice green with it before playing (I know that's not long).  It didn't feel comfortable and I wasn't making anything. I put it in play that day anyway. Three 3-putts in the first 4 holes and I was begging my buddies to let me put my old putter back in play (they did). Lost confidence in that putter so quickly that it never had the chance to see the light of day again. Confidence is critical in putting. Good luck to all.

    So hard to choose which I would want to test.    I went through the checklist and it really didn't narrow it down much;  so the virtual fitting would be a key.   I typically play blade putters so that would be my first choice but I want to make a mallet work.   Instead of one model I'll show you what I like:

    Maybe someone can point this out, and it's probably something simple I am overlooking, but for the life of me, I cannot locate the answer on their site.

    What is the difference between the LC, MC, LH, and MH models?  I'm assuming the C and H indicate the hosel placement, center or heel, but is the M and L men's and ladies?  The models seem very similar for that to be the case.

    Also not seeing anything about toe hang specs for any of the models, which seems unusual.

    Saying all that, the Drac model looks pretty sick and happens to have a special promotion this month !

    What kind of grips are offered?

    Sub70 is a DTC brand that makes high quality equipment and has great customer service.  They are wanted simply because they are solid clubs that can be obtained for a reasonable price.

    Been about a year since I was selected to test the ShotScope ProLX+ device.  Since this type of device is more of a long term use item I wanted to add an update about the device.  

    One Year Update

    It has been about a year since I started testing the Shotscope ProLX+ devices.     I have continued to use the devices but I would say that my quest to dive into the data has waned.   

    RangeFinder:  Still considered it an average to slight above average rangefinder.  Use of a GPS device to get F/M/B distances is beneficial to help validate that flag readings are really the flag and not something in the background.  Favorite aspect is the slope feature.   

    H4:  I still consider it pretty reliable for capturing shots; most "problems" center around the putting green such as  capturing the flag or putt locations.   Occasionally, courses aren't picked up even though the device shows that the course is loaded and doesn't need an update.  This happened during the MGS Pinehurst trip;  Pine Needles wasn't recognized.   I have also stopped using the H4 for anything other than GPS during my competitive league matches;  not that it is difficult but I find it distracting to use around the green to capture the pin location.    The main intent of the H4 is to capture data about your game to identify areas to work on to improve.  While it does show how I compare against various handicap levels to help manage expectations  at my level of play I find that the data doesn't reveal anything that I can't identify through normal game evaluation.   

    Summary:  I think the product is good for the right person and would still rate it highly.   I thought I was a data geek and wanted to know more detailed stats but after using the device I can only say the data is interesting but not game changing for me.  Going forward I will still use the rangefinder and h4 unit for distances but probably won't do stat tracking anymore.

    Going to need more consoling 😭

     

    The one nice thing is that we will get to see @GolfSpy BOS bag next week. i think there Will be a lot of checking out of new equipment next week.

    1. These testing opportunities are not contests. It isn’t a random draw but a hand picked selection of people that the mod team believes will do a good job testing. 
    2.  Being selected has a direct relationship to your forum participation.  If you only apply to be a tester you won’t be picked.  You don’t have a profile picture, you won’t be picked.

    My initial post was in response to the wording for the call for testers that (1) implies that the ball is too good for golfers of my current handicap, and (2) seems to fly in the face of what MGS (or, at least, Tony Covey) has been preaching for the past few years.

    Maybe I just woke up on the grumpy side of the bed.

    I don't take the wording of the call for testers too seriously, but I have been here a long time and understand that the forum and MGS would like every test to be for everyone and be worldwide and that any restrictions are imposed by the OEM.  

    The forum also welcomes people to provide their own review on the products; even if you don't meet the criteria,  so if you have tried the Maxfli balls, post your thoughts in the testing thread.   I had a LAB putter and provided my thoughts in the testing thread.

    Usually I won't sign up to test equipment that is clearly not right for me (e.g., the current Takomo iron tests) but surely ball testing applies across the handicap spectrum.

    Keep in mind,  that some of the parameters of these tests are dictated by the OEM themselves and not MGS.

    Welcome to the forum.  I see you are new and while we all want to be  selected as a tester there are some things that need to be done in advance of being selected.   Selection is not random and there is criteria that the moderators evaluate as part of this process.   to learn more,  review the thread I linked below, add a profile picture (first criteria that is checked), and get engaged by joining in the discussions.
