  1. I am still gaming the Ping G410 LST and no driver even slightly encourages me to switch.  I actually liked the G425 LESS than the G410 driver, but of course the G430 has my attention and I will be demoing it ASAP.

ProV1 is my gamer so curious to hear what they changed with my favorite ball!

Cleveland just goes about their business making great wedges and glad to see a continuation/expansion of their Tour Rack program.

Figured I’d add to this thread since it was only a few weeks old instead of creating a new thread.  Even though I don’t watch everything, I still look to see what TXG puts out and had to watch this one.   Anyone wanting to understand putter fitting, this is a great example.  The key takeaway for me; sorry to spoil a little, was that you can’t always just take your specs and get a different brand that looks similar; there are subtle difference that change performance.    SAM and CApto can do similar type things, although more focused on the club than the ball.  No matter what system, I’d love to get a fitting like this!

Was just about to post a link to this video. So good

in the coming weeks I’ll be posting a “Fitting 101” thread where ill be housing videos from TXG and others regarding education on how to get the most out of a fitting

  3. Just pre ordered my copy for my kids!

Sometimes Mom and Dad need to get away. The Golfer’s Zoo answers the age-old kid’s question; where the heck are Mom and Dad going when they take that big bag of sticks out and leave us for a few hours?

Sure, the golf course can be an adventure for parents, but it’s also a magical haven for animals to enjoy the sprawling fairways and relaxed watering holes that dot every golf property. From foxes to deer, turtles to sleepy owls, the golf course never disappoints and never bores us. The Golfer’s Zoo helps to show how much fun, nature, and animals are on a golf course, to ignite their imaginations and fuel a burgeoning interest in golf.

So help your kids understand the joys of golf, as they take a trip around 18 holes with Mom and Dad and say hello to all the animals that live on the course. They’ll never know what they'll see next!

Hey Everyone!  My name is Chris and I am happy to join the forum here.  I have been following MGS for a long time but just decided to get involved with posting.

    1. I have been playing golf for 3 years and my Handicap is 17.5

    2. What I love about golf is the never ending journey toward improvement, and the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

    3. I have followed MGS product reviews for a bit now.  I don't know others on the forum but I am happy to be here.

    4. I am from Hunterdon County NJ and my home course is Heron Glen Golf Course.

    5. The best thing about golf in my region is the number of outstanding course.  The worst is the winter months!

    6. I am a full time strength and conditioning coach and I am certified by the Titleist Performance Institute.

    7. My username is simply my initials and last name.

Another central jersey guy!  HELL YEAH

Heron Glenn is great. My buddy plays there a few times a week - he is in the mens league.  Havent gotten up there yet this year but hope to get there this fall.

Welcome to the forum and hit me up if you ever want to get a round in.  I am down by Princeton!

Love, Love, Love my SM9's.  I chose the tour chrome, but those brushed steels are B-E-A-U-tiful.  As I start to replace them due to wear in the upcoming year (and probably add the 46*), I think I will be transitioning to that finish.

The brushed steel doesn't wear too well to my eye.  It doesn't stay has "clean" looking as the Polished Steel, and it doesn't wear as evenly as the Black or Raw options

Right on, I think I looked at a place in Hillsborough. We just moved a little north of New Brunswick, my wife is a professor at Rutgers and I work in the city. Lately I’ve been playing most of my rounds at a 9 hole trek called Hyatt Hills. I like Rutgers and Galloping Hills too, but I’m looking for suggestions honestly.

Somerset County has some great courses. Neshanic Valley is awesome. Quail Brook is a good time, as is green knoll. Mattawang in Montgomery is always in great shape (I worked there over 20 years ago when I was in HS). Heron Glenn on Route 202 in Flemington is fantastic.

My “home course” is Mercer Oaks in Mercer County

Ok, should have done this long ago, but no time like the present I guess. Love the community here, and would love to join in more.

    • How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?

I started playing as a youngster, around age 5. Played all through high school, but slowly tapered off in college as golf lost out to other interests, namely, rock climbing. Then my daughter was born 3 year ago, and now I’m back at it. Grint App tells me that I am an unofficial 7 hcp, I think, and trending down, I hope.

    • What do you love about golf?

I love being outside, the conversation and low-key competition that golf brings between friends and personally. I’ve walked a lot in the woods and I’d say I disagree with the “good walk spoiled” sentiment.

    • What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?

I needed to know what was up after a long break.

    • Where are you from? What is your home course?

Born in Chicago, made my way to New Brunswick, NJ. I play at all the muni’s around me.

    • What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?

the access to decent courses is impressive. The price of admission is tough.

    • What do you do for a living?

    Practice law

    • How’d you pick your user name?

    My parents did that.

Yes! Another central Jersey muni guy! Let’s me up for a round!

I got an ER2 with 3 dots (33 inch) because I found the 34 inch too light and I was putting lights out at the store with the 33. Played today and had 20 putts on the 18 on the back- had a little trouble with the heft and lag putts. Felt better on the back and my expectations were not too high as I didn’t practice with it on real greens.

So what I’m wondering is if I lengthen it an inch that should bring the swing weight down a bit? Or should I go back to the store and get the 34? Of course I could just practice more and get used to the 370 gram head- I wanted the extra weight because I love the gravity grip and the 355 gram felt too light. I’m leaning toward practice, practice, proactive- my only worry is that I won’t be able to exchange it for the 34 inch in 2 weeks.

Lengthening the putter will increase the swing weight and technically makes it feel heavier

So if you want it to feel lighter just go with the lighter head

As for length, don’t use length to play with swing weight. Length should be fit for your  stance/stroke. Find the length that is most comfortable and adjust head weight based on what feels best for you

If you want a 33” putter with the two dot (370) or one dot (355) the you can order a custom putter from Evnroll

    One Dot 355

    Two Dot 370

    Three Dot 385

Hello all, more on the beginners side,

I'm looking to add the ping ChipR to the bag, curious what other wedges i should have to pair with it, pitching wedge for sure, but which other ones, thanks for advice

Here is the thread for the ChipR!

That being said, it is important to understand your own game and what you are comfortable.  I went from PW (45), 50, 54,60 to PW, 52, 58.  I made this change because I am really comfortable hitting partial wedge shots so the big degree gaps between my PW, 52, and 58 dont really bother me.

There are others that have kept the same wedge setup and removed a club at the top of the bag.

    Not a one-size-fits-all solution!
