Didn't mean for my comment to come off as shallow. And I agree that quality posts definitely are what make this forum great.
It's why I stayed around. I've learned soooo much more than I thought was possible, amd thats just scrapingthe surface.
I was a just a guy out playing some fun Whack-F#$%! before I joined here. Now I'm playing slightly better whack! with moderately less f#$%!
It didn't come off as shallow at all. More just a broad statement on my own opinion. It is so easy to just post a short three word thing. It is when members really dive in that I get excited.
That all being said, there are so many new members and just saying hi is awesome! I can remember being really intimidated and scared to post for fear or being wrong and backlash or just negative feedback. Learned pretty quick that this wasn't that type of place. That is why I stuck around!- sirchunksalot, Rob Person, CFreddie and 4 others

Wtg! February has 1 extra day, so maybe It will break the record!
I do love to see records, however I still am very conscious of making sure we still have quality posts and content for readers to see and take in. It is great to have numbers, but empty numbers are also just that. Empty.
It is one of the reasons I like this newer method of counting posts and engagement as it does not include any posts made in the testers wanted threads. While those are great, they are also what I consider to be empty posts. -
Sorry no recommendations... Just a lot of jealousy.

Now that January is over (at least in my timezone)
We finished off with just if 12,600 posts. We came 13 or so shy of 2023 record (May 12,691). However it's January and this was truly awesome to see so thank you to all! Just wow. Not to be one to dwell on the past but for previous January's were were 2019 - 4300, 2020 - 5300, 2021 - 7200, 2022 - 5200, 2023 - 6600. So yeah we crushed it! Thank you to all.
We also had just over 1000 new registrations last month.
That is on pace for what we saw last year with 12,000 new registrations over the season.
Truthfully I hope we see 20k new ppl this year... Fingers crossed.
A great month and I only see this getting bigger and better as we progress!

WOW! I was trying to compile a preference as I read through all the post here but I got overwhelmed by the sheer number of posts. I have to say that a lot of folks echo my own preference/experience.
@GolfSpy_APH the forum response is great to read detail, but it is hard to get a sense of the big picture. We all know Titleist is the #1 ball on Tour, but what is the #1 ball Touring the country with MGS members? Is anyone there thinking about putting this into a survey format to see what the #1 ball on MGS is? How about whether play and/or MGS ball test are primary factors in that decision? I, for one, would be interested in seeing what balls hold preference and what factors influence choice. I started to put together a Survey Monkey, but realized that you guys might have something drawn up already or some tool that is easier to apply. Personally, I have tried a few balls based on forum reviews and Ball Test results that I may not have tried if I hadn't seen it here.
MyGolfSpy does basically a WIYB survey each season. Goes over a lot!
Maxfli and Titleist are the big ones from Forum members. Lots of others scattered around.
Closer to playing season for all we may do a larger survey for the whole membership, but we also expect a lot of new comers so yes, in the future we have some thoughts, but also want to make sure we do something with the results for all.

Will be doing some testing today or tomorrow with some new golf balls and excited to see how it performs now that the 5 dot has been trimmed a bit.

Hopefully going to have these bent soon and will give them a run at the practice facility to set how they do in a few different conditions.

give it about 8 hours and we will be releasing the next testing opportunity. .. not sure why I am posting it in this thread. But it may break the forum.

That is interesting math. Could even be a mistake on their end?
I dont imagine that big of a difference in performance. However I will say I do typically lean more towards DTC brands vs used. -
I actually may regrip mine as well. Debating on what to go with though. Thinking may try a full set of the star grips?

Update:
As has been discussed here and in other threads, I have made the switch from the KBS Tour shafts that came with the irons into UST Mamiya Recoil 110 f4 shafts for 5-7 T200 & 8-pw T150, as well as my 48 degree SM-9 Vokey gw. I left the 4i T200 Utility with its HZRDUS shaft, as I haven’t been using it much.
While I had the chance, I also opted for these BB&F co ferrules, as I really like them:
So far my use of them has been limited to the net and SIM, but initial impressions are favorable. The clubs feel lighter and quicker in a good way. According to the numbers on Rapsodo Range, distances are similar, if not the same. The impetus behind the switch has more to do with being easier on my joints than improved performance. I will take maintained performance and better joint health, as the performance from these irons is/was fantastic.
Looking good! I like the color combo you ended up going with!

I only ready the highlights, still really struggling to get excited for the season. Hoping when April comes something pops.

I would like to see training aids, not gimmicks.
That is an extremely fine line!
However we do have a few in that space which should be interesting. Stay tuned!

How’s it going everyone. I’m working a garage setup and looking for advice on the hitting mat. I got a 5x5 mat coming in today and am going to add some cushion under to avoid injury.
My first though was a section of carpet/rug padding but saw some mentions of fatigue resistant mats for people who stand long times.
what have people used to give good cushion, but not effect feedback on shots and prevent slipping on the concrete.I have used those mats under mind if they work great. I even went do far as to build it out so the ball hits the mat as well vs the concrete.
Didn't find any issues with slipping and still effective/realistic!
