Soo... what's the over/under on total balls lost over the course of the trip?

    500!

Very unscientific calculations, see the math below.

20 guys playing 4 rounds equals 80 rounds,  4 more playing 3 rounds= so roughly 92 rounds played.

Now wide range of golfers from near scratch to 20 plus caps.   Let's go probably low with 4 balls lost per round,  the scratch or low single digit guys might not lose any or 1, and the higher caps might lose 6 or more.  So that's a close average.    Add in the unfamiliar courses and maybe a bit of fatigue by Sunday.  So let's up that to 5 per round.   So that's a pretty healthy body count of @Yellow Balls friends and family 🙂       Let's round up and make the over/under at 500

That's a very big number.  I would be totally game of everyone keeping track of their count and us adding it all up on Sunday afternoon for fun!

The tee box snap hooks are back, so you might want to up that number 😅

I am bringing a 6-dot Newton shaft for giveaway during the outing. At the moment it is not tipped. I think I have Cobra, PING and Callaway tips if anyone is interested. I leave Monday and would need to tip this weekend.

I've got a new Wilson adapter laying around that I can bring.  Highly doubt that would be needed but will be happy to make that an option.

Trust me, you weren't there for Queenstown... I lose balls! As far as rocks, that was the first one that came to mind, I also have an Oncore MA 1.0 which literally has a hollow metal ball as it's core.

I wish they would fire that line back up up just for the HRC.  Nothing says Hard Rock Challenge like a golf ball with a metal core.

I love that everyone's bringing buckets of them, and @Berg Ryman's all, "oh, I have one I can bring (what I'm intimating there, guys, is that I. DON'T. LOSE. BALLS.)"

I think you have your Villain, everyone.  Well done, Berg.  Well done 😉

I'm here in defense of @Berg Ryman.

He's just excited about his pink Nitro.  We should all be excited about his pink Nitro.

Went through my bucket of finds and sleeves from customers to find some contenders.

These should qualify. The Bridgestones are e5 distance.  Then we have some XL’s, Nitro, Warbirds, and Pinnacle Rush and Pinnacle Gold.

Looks like you're ready to roll!  I can hear and feel those XL's.  Like a cue ball getting hit with a bat.

    HRC: loading...

HRC will be a 3 hole shootout; winner of (TBD) takes all.   Rules are simple, must use any 2 piece,, surlyn covered golf ball that doesn't contain the word "soft" in it's name or description.  You don't have to use the same model/brand for the shootout.  Extra bragging rights goes to whomever uses a Top Flite XL.

Course selection will be up to those participating.  To keep things simple, we will use the opening 3 holes at Plantation or Wood Course.  Give it some thought and we'll take a vote at the end of the week.

I'm kind of designating myself the group photo/video guy - not that I'm insisting on others not sharing, lol.  I'm bringing a main camera with two lenses (one super-zoom so I can theoretically not have to be right up on people in order to get some good shots. I'm TEMPTED to rent a very long lens that would be perfect for capturing people on alternate tees and greens and stuff.

I'll also have a small video cam and drone, but that stuff won't get posted until well after the trip is over and I have time to edit it together.

All that being said, I'll do my best to post some stuff each night we're there of the day's round(s), and I'll try to get a bunch of stuff of the group  hanging out and being dumb 🙂 But nothing TOO incriminating, I promise.

Really, REALLY looking forward to this trip, y'all. (And I'm not even Southern)

I seriously considered bringing my gear, firing up Premier Pro and making montages of the weekend during the evenings.  Knowing how last year went, that good intention would go down in flames as the good times start rolling with y'all.  I'm going to stick with the phone again for this trip.

I'm going to have to look through some of my old balls and see if I have some for this. I always enjoyed getting to take part in these and they were so instrumental to me getting excited about posting on the forum when I first joined.

Dang it, Jason you hit me right in the feels with this one.

I know last year the group said they would and all ended up having too much fun and just got too tied up in the enjoyment of event so didn't post that much.

We have a few bringing cameras, we are going to do a late night community call or live from and some socials content.

For myself I'll only post where there is wifi as I'm not spending a fortune on a data package for the trip, but I'll try to take some videos and such for the journey.

Can confirm.  I thought for sure we'd be posting all weekend in Pinehurst but it was hard to slide off to the virtual world.  Especially when I had to keep venturing off into the woods to find my golf ball.

  8. How have I missed all of the pre-trip shenanigans!?  Sorry for being MIA.

I think it's getting to the point at work where everyone is tired of hearing me talk about the trip, I can't stop. I really don't care and I'm looking forward to sending photos of the courses to my buddies.

Also, is there a sand trap in the middle of the 15th green at the Woods course? That's the stuff nightmares are made of.

Jason, there was a shared green at Mid-South in Pinehurst last summer.  I managed to blade a chip onto the wrong one 😅

It is the shared green for holes 12 and 15.   🙂

I could be wrong.   But i think they are going to set up on an actual hole and do it as each geoup comes through.   Dont know if it would be a driving hole or par 3.

Again i could be completely wrong, but that was a discussion at one point.  Dont know the details they settled on.

Will this be a call your yardage in the air?   I am getting pretty good at knowing the distance off of my hosels.

I may need to try those. It stays pretty warm and humid over here in MS so the leather on the normal gloves feel kind of sticky after a while.

I gave up on leather after moving to FL.  I was burning thru them so that’s why made the switch.

    Good luck!

I made the switch to FJ rain gloves for the hot and humid rounds here in SC.  Longevity has been great for me and they stay tacky as the temp and humidity increases.

For those that missed the call you can view it here!

It does start early as there was some great conversation that started prior to the normal call time.

Thanks for posting this Jamie!  Got stuck in another meeting this week.  Our Thursday scheduling needs a revamp, it's starting to interfere with MGS-time.

  11. Great write up! With work like this you'll be a part of an official test in no time.  Wilson makes great equipment, glad Triad is working for you. I have been meaning to try these for ages!

Here's the commercial with Manolo.  I liked it!  Wilson needed to change things, and this made a splash.
