Very early good morning Spies on the first morning of 2024. I would like to say it has been an uneventful morning here, but currently at the local hospital emergency room as SWMBO had a fall at her sisters house and hit her head on a wooden cabinet and now requires some stitches to close up the wound. All that happened without anyone having any alcoholic beverages. Once I get out and back home it will be bedtime so I thought to get this out of the way before tomorrow afternoon if I get the sleep normally needed.
Hope your day and start to the New Year is all you want and need it to be, and something enjoyable is in your plans.
Oh no, sorry to hear this. Hope she feels better soon!

Good morning and Happy New Year Spies,
Up a bit later as we did see midnight. Cuppa tasting good. Had friends over last night. I made creamy gnocchi with sausage. Our neighbors went to London to ring in the New Year. We looked for them on the BBC coverage as they were down by the London Eye. We couldn’t find them.
I will start off the year with a run. Wishing you all a wonderful 2024!

Good morning Spies,
Up early, dog fed, travel mug filled with morning coffee. Head out to pick up cinnamon rolls at the bakery. Arrive to see a sign “Closed until 1/2/2024”. Oh well. I will finish my cuppa then walk the dog.
As I reflect on 2023, I am grateful for you all on the forum. I want to thank all of MGS Forum staff for keeping the content so accessible to all and for the testing opportunities you were able to provide for the members. And I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to test the Paradym X irons.
Wishing you all a happy New Year and a wonderful 2024.

Hi all, I have updated my product review post with the results of the "strokes gained" and long lag "distance to hole" tests. Please check it out when you get a chance and let me know your thoughts. The balance of my testing will be more on-course play getting to my play it or trade it and final conclusion.
Hope all the other testers on both the milled and non-milled are getting some decent weather for testing... tough time of year for some regions .
Yes! this is the one I was waiting for vs. the Evnroll. Well done. I was impressed by the closeness of the scores and that 2 out of the 3 distances there was better performance from the Ai-One milled. The signs of wear that you mentioned, made we think I'd put this putter aside when the greens get aerated and top dressed with sand.

Waving in case @Byrnzee is passing by about now on his way past from Upstate to points west on his way home, as anyone passing on I-90 just south of Buffalo passes within a couple miles of my backyard, so be sure to wave as you go by. Could it be possible to golf in this mild winter on the day before New Year's Eve? Hope golf is a part of your day!
edit - and what do you know, we have white precipitation descending to Earth in these here parts...
We are getting flurries in CNY. They made for a nice run.

Good morning Spies,
Coffee is definitely a plus on cold rainy morning here in CNY. Not a whole lot on tap. Since the dose increase in his medication, our poor old dog’s seizure frequency has increased but their duration and recovery time are much shorter. It’s tough watching him go through this. Hug your puppers today.
Wishing all a wonderful day.

Good morning and happy Thursday spies!! No solid plans on the day, keeping it open since today is my wife’s birthday. She requested a “fancy donut” for breakfast so I am getting ready to head to the bakery for that now. Dinner with some of her friends and family tonight at a Japanese steak house. We shall see what the rest of the day brings.
Have a great day everyone!
Happiest of birthdays to your Mrs!

Good Morning everyone!! Hope you have a top notch Thursday. It's 32º with dense fog, so no golf today for me.
@ParFore74x Happy Birthday to your wife... today is also my wife's birthday!! She's getting her hair done, and then it's out to dinner. I'm spending the morning working in my hitting bay; starting to see some better compression and hope it translates to the course when it warms up.
Take care if you are still traveling for the holidays.
Happy birthday to your good lady.

Good morning Spies,
Second cuppa going down. I seasoned my Christmas present yesterday. A carbon steel wok. It made the house rather noisy. The smoke detectors took exception to my efforts. Not me ch on tap today in gray damp CNY. I have a massage this afternoon. They have been most helpful since starting my running journey at age 59.
I christened my Christmas gift with shrimp and snow peas tossed with rice noodles.
Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning Spies,
Two cups down. Apple pie for breakfast and I ran a mile. It was my coach's assignment for today. I hope all had a very nice Christmas. We had a lovely Christmas dinner. The prime rib was a hit with the brothers-in-law. And I participated in the end of an era of sorts. San Franciscans long had the Anchor Brewing Company to call our own. This small craft brewery was purchased by Sapporo and like many corporations they ruined a good thing. In my homebrewing days I was able to spend a bit of time at Anchor. I look back fondly at the privilege. Sapporo shut down Anchor earlier this year. And like that Anchor Christmas Ale is now more. Thankfully I still had one bottle of their 2022 Christmas Ale.
Golf related Christmas gifts included a LinkSoul hoodie, a dozen Snell Prime golf balls and a couple of boxes of very nice Western Birch golf tees. But I am most excited about my carbon steel wok. Can't wait to get cooking with that one. I can use the wok attachment for my stove. It's been collecting dust in the cupboard.
Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning Spies,
Happy Christmas Eve. Up early to make my Nonni’s gravy for tonight’s dinner. Browned the pot roast with onion and put it in the crockpot with the tomato sauce, porcini mushrooms, red wine, rosemary, thyme and oregano. It with cook until dinner time. If you are a San Francisco area native, it will put one in mind of the pot roast at Westlake Joe’s in Daly City.
My son works tomorrow so our traditional Christmas tequila shot will occur today via FaceTime. We will open gifts with him and his fiancé.
Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning Spies,
It’s a cold gray day in CNY. Enjoying my morning cuppa with Italian cookies. It feels like my cold has fully moved on. Yesterday was errand day. Picked up the prime rib for Christmas dinner. Picked up the roast for making my Nonni’s gravy to go with the stuffed rigatoni for Christmas Eve dinner. (It’s a red meat Christmas) And got the last of the “stocking stuffers” for my lovely wife.
SWMBO is a huge Friends fan. So in her honor.
Wishing all a wonderful day!

There are lots of reputable dr's and medical professionals that take care of patients that cannot leave hospitals and they do their best to make their hospital stays as comfortable as possible.
Today has been a hell of a day. Just getting on the forum to see what has been going on today.
Channeled my inner @EasyPutter; headed to the golf course this morning to play 9 holes; it was 34*. Golf was used to pass time until my afternoon medical procedure since I wasn't allowed to eat or drink after midnight. Went to get something to eat with my wife since I hadn't eaten since 6:00 yesterday and when we were leaving she tripped over the wheelstop in the parking space so back to the ER since she was pretty sure she broke her hand.....she did. Then we had to call the daughter to come get us since I had been under anesthesia and she was given pretty strong pain killers so no driving.
we are all home now and getting ready for tomorrows family Christmas eve celebration since my daughter as mentioned above works Christmas eve and Christmas day.
My son works Christmas Day also. He has Christmas Eve off. So we will FaceTime our traditional “Christmas Tequila Shot” on Sunday. And he has New Year’s Eve shift. My wife, a retired X-Ray tech, also warned about the coming full moon December 26th which he works as well. It’s well known in the medical community that brings out next level stuff.

Good morning Spies,
Happy Friday. Up early but enjoying coffee and delicious Italian cookies gifted by our neighbors. I did get blessed to see a beautiful morning sky while pottying the old pupper.

Good Thursday Morning Spies!
57 degrees at 7am tee time and a bit windy. Still it was nice walking 18 holes. Thanks to TheStack System, played good for not playing in a week. Putting was subpar however, liking the new Scotty Phantom X 5.5.
Hopefully can work from home today and get on the community call. On 1st cup of expresso at home.Tonight I'll be starting to cook the Christmas Sauce, meatballs & sausage! Mmm. Great photo's @Javs - safe travels!
Get well @Woodrow72, dental issue ugh!!Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm & Hit'em straight!
I will be making my Nonni’s “gravy” on Christmas Eve with ravioli. She always called it gravy not sauce. She made it with a roast in it. It was more brown than red.

HAHA. You don't know my wife... lol. She will ruin the kids Christmas if I pulled that stunt! Ha. I just read it to her and she just started laughing.
Yea, it didn’t work for me. My son is 27 so that may have had something to do with it.

Good morning Spies,
Happy Almost Friday. One cuppa down on a cold but sunny day in CNY. A morning of errands. Not much going on otherwise. Putting in the basement and maybe a short treadmill run.

I am going to be really biased and say the Paradym X irons. LOL I have to admit I completely whiffed on the Rapsodo MLM2Pro Review which I was looking forward to but failed to take in. I will be correcting that. But of the ones currently active, it will be the Odyssey Ai-One Putter review. I am also looking forward to the FlightScope review that just had tester selection.
Why Do You Watch/Care About Pro Golf?
in Tour Talk
Posted
I used to enjoy professional golf for the skill of the players and the courses on which they played. Watching shots being pulled off of which I could only dream is pretty incredible. Watching tournaments like the Sentry because I’ve played that course and The Masters because of the beauty of Augusta and other tournaments because of a dream to play those courses was a draw for me. Walking Oak Hill for the PGA Championship was very cool as was seeing players like Rory, Collin Morikowa, Adam Scott, Tommy Fleetwood and Tony Finau up close was pretty special. The money has gotten so big and the advertising needed to support the tournaments started to detract from the viewing. But as the money grew, some players appeared more concerned about their cut than making the cut it began to turn me off. I will watch the Majors but I will be less inclined to watch regular tour events and have zero interest in watching any LIV event.
