Started the day out with a haircut and a quick stop to Starbucks for a little treat. Then I was absolutely FLOORED with the Qi10 announcement when I finally got settled. can't wait to hear all of the buzz on the community call later today!
Been super busy the past few weeks with work prepping for QBR/Board reviews and transferring hardware back home to set up to WFH for a month or so while our office is renovated.
What do you guys think of the set up?
On to last nights sim league where I'm back in the winners circle shooting a +1 on the back side of Augusta with my partner this week! Highlight of the round was a 225 Baby fade to a back left pin on #14 with my Mizuno STZ 230 Hybrid from testing in 2023 that I stuck to 8ft for the birdie. I have been having a blast playing in this league and can feel the rust and quirks starting to fall off which I think will be very helpful this coming season!

Golf certainly has a history of “borrowing” design features. Ping “Ansers” appear in the portfolios of nearly every manufacturer as well as boutique putter makers. Not sure how this is any different. But maybe a legal expert can comment.

Good morning Spies!
First and foremost, best wishes to Chris @cnosil I know you are planning to hit the community call this afternoon. All I can think of is the viral video of the kid post after anesthesia for dental work. Wishing you a wonderful outcome and a speedy recovery.
And what a start the morning is off to! A TaylorMade driver as a testing opportunity. That’s a huge get for the forum! Well done Forum Admin
Congrats to @RockerFCC the Sim looks awesome. Looking forward to seeing more from this venture.I have a favor to ask the forum. Please confirm that there is sun somewhere! As there has been no evidence of said warm, bright orb in Central NY! I lived in Seattle for 17 years and this is worse.
A trip to the indoor range at Turning Stone is on the agenda today.
Wishing all a wonderful day! -

Lot's going on in my household:
- Daughter has Flu b
- Wife is still having issues with her broken hand
- Cat was diagnosed with cutaneous lymphoma
- Me having surgery today.
I have to be at the hospital at 8:30, surgery is scheduled for 10:30, duration is estimated at 5 hours, and a 4-7 day hospital stay follows. Don't think I will be back on the forum until tomorrow I'll try to post an update this evening depending on how I am doing. My wife laughed when I told her that she could do some things she needs to get done tomorrow since I planned on being on community call tomorrow night and there would be people at the hospital to take care of me.
Prayers for a wonderful outcome and a full and speedy recovery.

I thought it was funny reading the comments on how to get kids to sleep earlier. I am a very light sleeper and don't sleep alot as it is. Have slept maybe 8hrs since Sunday just because its tough anytime he makes a noise but he has no problems sleeping right now haha
Congratulations on the birth of your son. Wishing your family much happiness.

When the season kicks off I will be trying the Snell MTB Prime. My wife gave me a dozen for Christmas. Last season I tried and liked the Wilson Triad and the TaylorMade Tour Response Stripe.

I’m often “thinking” about putters. The newest release of Scotty Phantoms didn’t really capture my interest. But what has caught my eye was an Instagram post by theequipmentjunkie. The idea of a customized PLD milled putter sounds good. I’m not in a position to afford the full on fitting and customization offering from Ping but something like the PLD Milled “Plus” program may be within reach. I’ve used the iPing app in the past and know my specs. (Slight arc, 4 degree loft and 69 degree lie.) But other than this post I’ve seen nothing more on the program.

Good morning Spies on a cold and snowy Tuesday here in the Motor City.
Steady temperatures between 30- and 34-degrees F with precipitation in both flake and drop form falling throughout the day.
Pretty busy for me again this week at work, but actually gave them a 90+ day notice that effective May 1, 2024 I would be retiring.
Their reaction was "jaw dropping" and stunned.
Congrats on the anniversary @ejgaudette again, and hoping that you enjoy many more.
Make your day the best it can be, and hope that something enjoyable may be in your plans.
Congratulations on retirement. It must feel pretty nice to have your efforts validated by their reaction to your notice. Most happy for you that it is on your terms, Enjoy what comes next. I know I sure am.

After a weekend away got back to work and did a quick bit of shopping to get us set up for the week. Kids enjoyed a little bit of the snow and shoveling and then decided to build a fort which was fun until the wife and I decided to use the couch.
Today is our anniversary for the wife and I, 8 years and counting. I am extremely lucky and definitely married up. We celebrated this weekend but maybe will grab some dinner to celebrate tonight.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!
Happy Anniversary!

Good morning Spies,
Second cuppa going down. It’s cold and overcast in CNY. Not much on the agenda. Get a workout in and practice putting in the basement. My wife and I will have dinner out with friends at a new Thai place. I’m hopeful as the best Thai so far is in Ithaca which is over an hour away.
Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning a bit late Spies,
The gray of "Drearycuse" is getting to me. I've been getting my running workouts in but definitely need the sunshine. Last night's NFC Championship Game was crazy but was most happy with the outcome. The Niners appeared out of it in the first half. But glad to see Purdy stepped it up in the second half. I am happy for my 83-year-old dad. He was a long-time 49er season ticket holder during their heyday in the Candlestick Park years. They certainly have their work cut out for them against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. But they have a quarterback this time who isn't afraid to get the ball down field and doesn't gag when forced out of the pocket.
Wishing all a wonderful day.

I’m in Eastern PA (25 miles NE of Philadelphia), and despite the snow and sub-freezing temp’s I played golf in NJ last Thursday and again yesterday. I had to drive (or ride with a friend) and travel 80-85 miles to play last Thursday; a bit less of a drive yesterday.
Frozen ground made it difficult to impossible to get a tee peg into the ground last Thursday (one of the guys in my foursome actually carried a rubber driving range tee in his bag and used it on the par-4 and par-5 tees; we all basically hit the ball off of the frozen turf or looked for tees that were already frozen in place on the par-3 teeing areas). We got lots of crazy bounces on approach shots and played everything at least 15-20 yards short of the greens on most holes. I actually had two drives on the frozen fairways that rolled-out to near 300 yards (my normal winter average is about 240 yards). I had a couple of shots that caromed into fairway bunkers, and other shots that bounded over the greens even when I went down two clubs shorter and hit to 25 yards short of a couple greens. Because of this, plus the bouncy putting greens, I shot a 15-over par 87 on a 6,450 yard layout.
Yesterday, I did much better on the “mushy” fairways, although I did have several balls that plugged in the fairways and left some deep ball marks on several greens (of course, I properly repaired all of them). I shot a very respectable 6-over 78, and was quite happy with my ball-striking and putting. On three of the seven holes where I made bogeys, it was because I hit my approach shots over the greens (I made only one birdie on our 16th hole, and gave that stroke back by pulling my second shot on #18, leaving it in a “waste area” of scrub pine, with no direct line to the pin). I played my approach from this waste area on the 18th hole to 30-35 feet left of the pin, which was the best line that I had, and walked away with a 2-putt bogey.
Yes, I know that I am nuts, but I play golf 12 months every year. Our winter golf tour had to cancel its event for tomorrow, and some of us who are hardcore winter golfers were itching to get out yesterday before the three consecutive days of rain that we are now under.
My buddy who lives in CT golfed on a frozen day. A guy in the foursome brought a drill to place tees.

Was it powered sugar or glazed on top?
With my Grandmother’s and some of their friends coming here from Poland and Czechoslovakia way back in the day, they were a treat that we had more times than the “Fat Tuesday” before the start of the Lenten period.
Also, my work facility is in Hamtramck, MI which was once a city largely populated by Polish people. Still have a few restaurants and bakeries here that serve and create the old, traditional Polish foods.
If anyone here has never had one, I would strongly suggest you at least give one a taste.
Powdered sugar topped which went wonderfully everywhere. There is a good sized Polish community where my wife is from. The Catholic Parishes there were very ethnically oriented. One of them was strongly Polish. They have a festival every year with all of the wonderful food. But not gonna lie, not a fan of kapusta.

Good morning Spies,
Greetings from “Drearycuse”. Stormy and wet here in CNY. Looks like my 4 mile run will be postponed until tomorrow with it’s promise of better weather. 4 miles is much too boring on a treadmill. But that comes with good compensation. Lunch with my lovely wife at one of our favorite spots. My sump pump appears to be in concert with that of @EasyPutter
Wishing all a wonderful day.

For me it’s hands down my Clicgear 3.5+ pushcart. It is laid out well, rugged, rolls really well and has a nice array of accessories. Second place goes to my Grooveit brush. It makes me enjoy cleaning my clubs.

Good morning Spies,
Two cuppas down on this cold, dreary, icy Hump Day in Central NY. Not much on tap today. Given the icy conditions I’ll be getting my run in on the treadmill.
@berkeleybob hope you feel better soon. School age kids are mobile petri dishes.
@sirchunksalot wishing you speedy healing for your feet. I can relate. When my arthritis kicks in just standing is a challenge. I can no longer walk 18.

Good morning Spies,
My morning cuppa was accompanied by a raspberry filled Pączki thanks to ma lovely wife. A nice start to my morning. My speed workout yesterday about killed me. (The word speed is used rather loosely I might add.) I looked at the new Phantom offerings from Scotty Cameron. They appear to be from Star Trek the Next Generation. I have an easy run on tap today and a massage this afternoon.
Happy Birthday @Woodrow72
@sirchunksalot My house is situated on the end of the street. So I won’t be shanking it into a neighbor’s yard just on to NY State Route 31.
Wishing all a wonderful!

Good morning Spies,
Working on my cuppa and cold but sunny day in CNY. Icy ground will have me doing running on the treadmill today. Monday is speed work runs, which is the day my coach tries to “kill” me. I’m not giving her workout any icy assistance.
Sorry to see “Wide Right” has bitten Buffalo again.

My feet were poorly designed by a committee. Left foot is a 9 and right foot is a 10.5 and both are EEE. Brooks comes in extra wide. They also have a program where they sell to mismatched feet. For an additional $30 I was able to get my shoes to match my mismatched feet. It was worth the investment to me for my running shoes. I also discovered that Footjoy’s custom shoe program will sell “mismatched” sizes as well.

it ended with a CT scan and a mild concussion... (wear a helmet kids...)
but the neighbor kids (and parents) came over and had a blast! One of my neighbors next door is an engineer and he used his sump pump and a garden hose to put a fresh coating on the ice.
I spent my time indoors and finally made it to a simulator. They must juice those things so people come back. My 7 iron doesn't go 200 yards...
Couldn't be happier for Nick Dunlap. Nerves of steel. Even I was having trouble breathing watching him come down the stretch. WOW! So many great young players on tour now.
Bummed for the Bills, Texans and Pack... all good young teams with bright futures though.
Gutted for the Bills kicker. Wide right, again. (90's Bills reference)Excited for the Lions. Really hope they can finish the job. Such an exciting team that loves to play together
Sorry to hear about your wife. Hope she feels better soon.

Good morning MGSpies on a dark cold Monday in WNY with no new snow and forecast of rain in a temperature inversion so that rain will be falling into upper 20s conditions and Kenny @Kenny B looks like I might get a chance to do my own putting on the still feet thick snow/ice pack. commute this morning was down stairs to the basement workspace and network is already online with the work computer Thank you Bills for another great season, maybe next year. Yesterday's Veteran curling was great fun, like my golf this activity is not (supposed to be) competitive.
This was the last yellow stone in an attempt to stop red from taking the end.Dreaming of warmer days on the golf course, hope golf is a part of your day

Good morning everyone!
Like @ParFore74x said, it's also the last day for frigid temps here where it's currently sitting at 10°. I think we're looking at getting highs this week in the high 50's although we're looking at a rainy forecast.
My wife has me under a strict "you're not doing anything today" rule to let my feet recover from going back to work and having to wear new safety shoes. We went to ESD at the start of the year and since the selection was slim in wide widths, the pair I bought are not comfortable. Might have to go buy another pair.
It's all good, looking at the Kingsmill counter, we're down to less than 130 days until an amazing golf trip.
I hope you all have a great Sunday!
I can relate. My feet were designed by committee. Finding a EEE width is certainly a challenge. Feet up on the couch sounds like the way to go.

Good morning Spies,
Up with a travel cup this morning. My Sweetie returned from her snowshoeing trip last night. I ran out this morning to get some cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Drove through a gentle snowfall. On the way home I was nicely tucked in behind a couple of snowplows kindly clearing my way.
A most nerve wracking final minute of the Niner game last night. I couldn’t watch the last minute. . I was burdened with the knowledge that they were 0-30 when trailing in the 4th. I’m not sure that “knowledge is king” is entirely accurate. Good luck to @EasyPutter and the Bills Mafia. “Break a table” as they say. I think. Thanks to @GolfSpy_BEN for sharing the wisdom of Charlie Brown.
Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning Spies,
Happy Friday. Two cuppas and some breky in my belly. About to go for a run. I hit the indoor range yesterday for the first full swings of 2024. Irons were excellent as was the hybrid. Currently not speaking to the driver and 3 wood. I’m thinking 10k MOI may not be enough.
Hope @Dead Solid Bogey gets things sorted out with his doctors. Your attitude through this is great to see.
@GolfSpy_APH the new badges look fantastic. They were a nice surprise.
