I just saw Luke Combs in concert, and the opening acts where Lainey Wilson and Riley Green. I have been listening to their music. In addition, I was just turned on to Royale Lynn. She is a mix of metal and country.

Thanks for sharing Sam. I hadn’t yet heard this rendition. The fiddle in the opening is quite haunting and Into the mystic further proves that a great song transcends styles and genres.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've never before owned anything from Zeppelin. Picked up this box set that was produced by Jimmy Page and it's phenomenal!!

There was so much great music in the 60’s & 70’s can’t begin to name them all.

I read somewhere that after the success of Spirit in the Sky, Norman Greenbaum left the music industry to become a goat farmer. I always liked that. It may be apocryphal, but I choose to believe it because it appeals to my sense of the absurd.

... Any career in the Arts is a fools errand. But a few select fools  make it and are rewarded beyond their dreams for their passion and efforts. But soooooooo many more really talented folks just never get the break they deserve. My first acting class the teacher, that had a decent career repeated some sage advice that I had never heard. "If there is anything else you can do and be reasonably content I strongly suggest you do that. Less than 5% make a living as actors and the other 95% will struggle until they change professions. If you are smart, you will make that change now while you can and not later when you have to." I would estimate by the time I was 50 about 90% of those I started out auditioning against were out of the business. At age 70 only a handful are left.

... I have to think a career in music is very similar. So many excellent artists that never get a chance, or in the case of one hit wonders come so close but don't quite get there. Parlaying a singular success into something you enjoy and can make a comfortable living sounds like someone knew what they were doing. I am sure the goats agree.

... One of my snowbird pards from Canada knows the group of about 95% of any song I can come up with. I have never met someone not in the radio/music business that would know which artists produced one hits wonders, or even several that had just a few hits and disappeared. Many that grew up in the 60's/70's instantly remember "Signs" but would be hard pressed to remember it was from the 5 Man Electrical Band. Or Incense and Peppermint but have no idea it was from the Strawberry Alarm Clock. But he is very difficult to stump and it really blows my mind.
