Going back to the roots of what we all listen to. It's ingrained in every aspect of music today. If not for this, there would be no Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton or Beatles.

This is my favorite Led Zeppelin song (cover) ever. This is the original.

An old one, but it popped up while I was in the gym earlier so now it's burrowed into my brain.

The Blues have served as the basis for many of the artists I have followed for years,  Clapton, BB, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Jeff Beck, Roy Buchanan, Garry Moore, Albert King, SRV, Jimmy Vaughn, Billy Gibbons, Santana, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Sonny Landreth, Derek Trucks, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin Wolf, Hubert Sumlin, Charley Patton, Robert Johnson, Clarence Brown, Freddie King, Son House, Lightnin Hopkins.  I’m sure I missed a few in there.  I’ve got at least one CD with something by each of these guys and many more bands in my collection.  Not a day goes by without me listening to some Blues.

Albert influenced a lot of players, not the least of whom was Stevie Ray.  Albert was a huge man with a huge heart who helped a large contingent of musicians throughout his career. I love BOrn under a bad sign.

I listed Billy but no zztop as I didn’t list bands. I could list 100s of those. I did forget to list Albert Collins. Otis Rush but there are other phenomenal players like Joe Walsh, Vince Gill, Albert Lee, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, JJ Cale and many more

It's funny how most people think "Cocaine" is Clapton's song. 😉

Tonight I have been doing an album shootout with nine copies of Tears for Fears, Songs From the Big Chair.  Have a mixture of Canadian copies, US, UK and Europe pressings.

Finished side 1 with a 1st Canadian pressing that easily beat all others.  Currently working on side 2.  Hoping the best side 2 is the same record as the side 1 so I can sell an additional album.  Most often I will have a record for side 1 only and side 2 only as well.  Not ideal but I am only interested in the best sound possible.

Tomorrow I will do the same with 7 copies of Ziggy Stardust.  I have a 1st pressing orange label original, early Japanese and 5 UK copies.  Will be hoping for the best.

Couple that with some questionable personal beliefs and opinions and it’s fair to say, he’s a good guitarist and a lousy human being
