A Positive Side to Winter

It's 63 here in SoCal and supposed to be 79 later. Can't beat year round golf and we don't get the Florida humidity in the summer.

I can understand why people like the Southern California weather, but then the ground there tends to shake.

Layers- as long as the ground is not frozen, we are out- although interestingly, VA allows year round posting of scores, I played the Friday after Turkey day in MD, and the computer says they do not count "winter" or off- season scores in MD.  Gotta tell you, I played Hunt Valley, it was in GREAT condition- greens almost as fast as Pinehurst, and the fairways and bunkers all looked good, too.  Only challenge was the leaves in the rough- you could (and we did) walk over your ball, covered by a leaf, before coming back and finding it by walking the other way (toward the tee box) to see the ground a bit differently.

All that said, wife and  I are looking to move to North Carolina within the next few years to get away from the snow- I am so over shoveling and dealing with ice on the road.

There is nothing more beautiful to me than a big snow storm. That being said shoveling the driveway really finished killing my back last year, so...

That's why I have two snow blowers actually, both were given to me (gotta love My dad who doesn't like complex lawn machinery and a bro who moved to FL this past summer (not sure why he didn't want to take his snowblower down there 😂🤣🤣))

I get to drive to work in the pitch dark and drive home is the same blackness. No need to worry about those pesky sunburns.
