azstu324
Sorry if this was a "click bait" of sorts. but I don't have the wedge nor do I know how it performs.. YET I just placed the order today for a 56/12. I'll be pulling a TT DG Spinner shaft out of my current 52* since it isn't ever used and the grip is like brand new. It will be interesting to see how this wedge holds up to the Bridgestone Tour B XW-1's I've been gaming for the past 2 years. I've mentioned in other threads that due to the COVID-19 restrictions, I've been playing quite a few walking rounds (no pull cart). In effort to shed some extra weight in my bag, I've taken out my 52* and 60*. The 52* was hardly ever played but I wasn't sure how I could live without my 60*. To my amazement, I found that I was able to control the 56* very well and its versatility fills every gap the 60* left behind. from the GW website, it looks like the grind would be fairly similar to the Bridgestone "Dual Grind" which definitely aids to its versatility. My goal is to see if it's possible to live with just 1 wedge in my bag to 1. simplify my options and 2. to inspire a little more creativity in my wedge game. Hopefully in a week or so, I'll have some unboxing and build pics to share. For now, this is the combo that I'm looking at + + + Nunfa0, downlowkey, BH43 and 4 others 7 Quote PXG 0311 Gen 5 9°/ Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X F6 3 Wood 14* / Kuro Kage Silver 65X F8 6 wood 20* / Fujikura MotoreX F3 6S RADSpeed Hybrid 24* TS1 4-GW / FCM Precision 6.5 Rifle TSW Wedge - 56/12 EAS 1.0 / Grip master 2.0 MAXFLI Tour CG

azstu324
It's the next day and the club is cured and ready for action. Here are some profile comparisons. This is a side by side with my current Bridgestone Tour B XW-1 56/14°. As you can see, the profile is just a hair more compact. The Bridgestone wasn't a shovel by any means. This is a lineup of 3 different brands of wedges to show how the TSW compares to some better known brands. I know the Honma is. 50° and isn't a direct match up but I've liked the shape so I thought I'd include it. the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get.. azstu324
So I was able to take this beauty out to the course. I am elated to report that all expectations were met and exceeded! I was able to use for a number of full and partial approach shots as well as a couple of bunker up and downs. The balance, feel, turf interaction, look at address, and all of the above just worked flawlessly. The ball was stopping on a dime from 3/4 to full shots. In Arizona, that's almost unheard-of. And from just off the green, the ball would check with limited roll out so controlling the outcome was very easy. Oh, and let me not forget to mention that while I did bring my 60°, I didn't feel the need to use it at all. The versatility of this particular club was all that I could hope for. After today, I'm very heavily considering dropping the other wedges permanently. Or at the most, keep the Bridgestone in the bag for hitting off of "less than desirable" surfaces. Was hitting shots like these from 115 yds on in all day. the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get.. mooremikea, Rtracymog, Popeye64 and 3 others 6 Quote PXG 0311 Gen 5 9°/ Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X F6 3 Wood 14* / Kuro Kage Silver 65X F8 6 wood 20* / Fujikura MotoreX F3 6S RADSpeed Hybrid 24* TS1 4-GW / FCM Precision 6.5 Rifle TSW Wedge - 56/12 EAS 1.0 / Grip master 2.0 MAXFLI Tour CG

Nearly every approach was within 120 yds. Probably a good half of them were full to 3/4 swings. A lot of those were from a tight fairway lie. A few from the rough. Some just off the green. I'm not a heavy digger but I do take a divot on full shots. The grind and wider sole seemed to work really well for all lies. There really wasn't any shot this thing couldn't handle. My full swing distance is around 115 yds. I really like the leading edge. I prefer a more square edge but understand how a rounded edge can be helpful. There is just a slight bit of rounding but hardly noticeable.. so best of both worlds imo. Also, I'll add that with the higher bounce at 12° it still sits flush to the ground without the edge being raised up. bens197 and Nunfa0 2 Quote PXG 0311 Gen 5 9°/ Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X F6 3 Wood 14* / Kuro Kage Silver 65X F8 6 wood 20* / Fujikura MotoreX F3 6S RADSpeed Hybrid 24* TS1 4-GW / FCM Precision 6.5 Rifle TSW Wedge - 56/12 EAS 1.0 / Grip master 2.0 MAXFLI Tour CG

bens197
So I went ahead and bought a 52 / 58 to go with the Modus 115 wedge shaft. I built them up sooner than expected, thanks in part to Golfworks and the USPS 2 day Priority shipping for $1.99. So without further adieu, here they are...Initial thoughts? I love the headshape. Rounded teardrop and a very compact toe to heel. Looks play such a large part in confidence and they really catch my eye. The feel has been very pleasant thus far. I haven’t come close to putting them through the paces so as far as initial yard-work shots go, the sole is very versatile. Let's hear your story, haha You're calling me out, ballplayer!! OK fine....I had been milling replacing my Callaway MD4s with the MD5s. After reading thru a few posts here on the site, I was really intrigued on the Maltby M-Series+, so much so that I did a little more research and talked to a couple of my friends who work in the golf retail industry. Got all positive feedback from them, so at that point I was really leaning. Had a couple beers Friday night, and apparently I made the purchase!!! Luckily, the wife wasn't horribly mad at me so I'm still alive to tell the tale. One of the clubs is on backorder, so from what I'm being told by Golf Works is that the order will ship around mid-June. ballplayer002003, HardcoreLooper and azstu324 2 1 Quote Driver: XR16 10.5* (set to 9.5*), MRC KuroKage TiNi Black, S-flex 3 wood: G410, Alta 65 S-flex Hybrids: G400 19* & 22*, Alta CB 70 S-flex Irons: JPX-900 5-GW, Proj X LZ 6.0 Wedges: SM7, 54*/S; MD4, 58*/S Putter: White Hot Pro Black 2.0 #

One of the clubs is on backorder, so from what I'm being told by Golf Works is that the order will ship around mid-June. The 2 drawbacks with Maltby/Golfworks 1. the ability to pick up a club in the store. Luckily, most folks who play Maltby have a pretty good sense for what's out there and are pretty reliable in their feed back and reviews. 2. When they have a club produced, it's usually in the hundreds.. and not hundreds of thousands like the big boys. They have to keep a lean production standard as to not have too much excess. When a newer model is released, the predecessors can be limited in production.. Hence the dreaded back order. If you can be patient and work through some of these "quirks" it will pay off Edited May 26, 2020 by azstu324 HardcoreLooper and AceBino 2 Quote PXG 0311 Gen 5 9°/ Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X F6 3 Wood 14* / Kuro Kage Silver 65X F8 6 wood 20* / Fujikura MotoreX F3 6S RADSpeed Hybrid 24* TS1 4-GW / FCM Precision 6.5 Rifle TSW Wedge - 56/12 EAS 1.0 / Grip master 2.0 MAXFLI Tour CG

Thinking of 54 since I have a 50, 56, and 60 but haven't decided if I want to do the 54 and 58 or stay 56 and 60 route azstu324
