What have you purchased & were you pleased with it?

If you could do it all over, would you make the same purchase or go a different route?

thanks for any feedback!

I was a Sub 70 699 Pro tester. To sum it up, if I was asked to return the clubs after the testing, I would have paid to keep them. If their driver, faiway woods, and hybrid perform as well, ( I did see good reviews on those as well) I would look to demo them.  If they work as well for me during the demo then that would be what I would purchase when I'm in the market to change the top end of my set.

I really like the demo program approach. Try before you buy and it only costs you $20.00 Not sure if they have much for lefty demo's. You'll have to check.

Here are some links to full Sub70 review of the 699 Pro irons from members here. There might be another review thread but I can't seem to find it. Someone a bit more familiar with all the threads can correct me if I am wrong. I have not tried them bit have heard great things, will for sure give them a try in the future.

Absolutely love my 699 irons. I utilized their demo program and hit both the 699 and 699 pro and found that the 699 irons were right with my game. After multiple calls with Jason (CEO) and Mike (sales) I was able to complete my order with the appropriate shafts and grips. They have the best customer service in golf and I really enjoy the clubs. Wouldn't change a thing at all.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts! I’ve already talked to Jason about what direction I want to go with the irons, but was just getting wanting to see what everyone had to say before I pulled the trigger and ordered them!

Sub 70 are shockingly good!  I bought the 639 MB's in Black and got the combo set with the CB's.  The MB's felt so good and were surprisingly forgiving, so I asked to switch my 6 and 7 iron to the MB's.  I also got the 699 Pro Utility 3 iron.  I am beyond impressed with these guys.  Jason spent 40 minutes on the phone talking me through shaft choice for irons and Utility iron.  My specs are spot on and you feel like these guys take pride in customer service and making quality products.  Do yourselves a favor and give these guys a shot with the demo program.

I've had 3 of the hybrids for several months and they are the real deal.  I'm testing the CB irons right now and they are really good also with great turf interaction.  So high praise from me.  Great company to deal with and being able to talk to the owner on the phone, etc is awesome.   Excellent customer service.

I have their 739 irons. They are their game improvement irons. I am really pleased with them. I had my most rounds in the 80s this year. They were also so great to work with. I will definitely consider them again.

I'm playing the 699 Pro's with the Project X 5.5 graphite shafts.   I also purchased a 699U 2 iron that's an absolute rocket launcher from them.

I went over and over what I was looking for in my irons with Jason and I couldn't be happier with the results.  I have no issue recommending Sub70.  While they definately want to sell you clubs, they are going to make sure you are happy with the clubs you get, and are results focused.

Best customer service I've ever dealt with in any industry.

Just picked up a 699U driving iron and really enjoyed it, great customer service and the value is great, I intend to swap it in and out of the bag with hybrid and 3 wood so given it doesn’t have a full time spot the price felt right

I am thinking about the 699U. I struggle with hybrids and woods even more and looking for something to fit in after my 4I that I can still hit off the deck. Does it work well outside of the tee box?

I’ve only gotten to the range with it so can’t speak to the rough or just different lies you can encounter on the course, but I’ve had no issue hitting off the deck on grass tees at the range. I find it really no different to hit off the deck compared to my ping g409 hybrid or 4 iron, although it arguably is easier than the 4 iron; off the deck is ultimately why I went with the 699U vs the 699U pro, I liked the pro a touch more off the tee but it asked more of me off the deck and I’m one to lean towards forgiveness

Swing away!

Early morning non-functioning problems, my apologies, my coffee will help out at some point.  I have the 639 MB/CB 5-PW, and I really enjoy them. Being able to have multiple options for shafts, and talking to Jason and his team they're great.  I have since purchased the 699 Pro U in the 4 and 3 iron, and they are monsters. The 3 iron is a monster off the tee, and so consistent and versatile. I have no regrets on them whatsoever, I do recommend using the demo program. I did, and went and got the lie adjustment face tape and it was right along with what the club recommender suggested.

Thanks everyone! I recently purchased 2 hybrids & the 699 pro black irons. I haven’t gotten a chance to play with them yet, but just based on looks & the few balls I’ve hit in the back yard, solid clubs & highly recommend @Sub72Golf @Sub70!

Let us know how they work out for you. I would be interested to hear how the hybrids work.

I got the 699U out on the course today. It performed great off the deck and well out of the rough when I pushed a few off the tee. Completely toed the last one as I was rushing to beat the daylight, was worried I couldn’t find it as I completely lost it in the dusk and being new I don’t know my tendencies. Ended up finding it dead center of the fairway 🤷‍♂️

Swing away!

I'm right there with you. in talking with the wife she said it would be nice to wait till our youngest is out of college (3 more years). I'm thinking I can slowly replace clubs as they (disappear/break). I currently have a missing 3 iron. Huge bummer as it was my go to off the tee when I'm having driver problems.

The demo is a great way to go. Knowing myself it would cost me the price of a complete new set of clubs by the time I decide on what to get.  That's the only reason I haven't done the demo program yet. OH and not to mention I am a horrible lier so I wouldn't be able to not tell my wife.

I started back playing after a 10 year hiatus.  Got interested in Sub 70 after reading about them on MyGolfSpy and did a lot of research.  Was right on the verge of an online purchase when I had to travel to Illinois for work.  Had a day off after my arrival and had inquired if an in person fitting might be a possibility.  Jason contacted me back and said he would personally do it.  He fit me for my 699 Pro irons and I have never hit a set of irons more consistently than I have these!  First round out with them shot 81.  I have since purchased a 939x hybrid and love it.  Recently picked up a Pro Fairway wood and 699U 3 iron, but due to weather haven't been able to hit them yet.  Every club I've tried has been great and would buy them again.

I just sent back my 639mb-plus demo irons (6/9) and they were a pleasure to hit! The only reason I have not ordered a set is because I feel like I need to try a New Level 902 iron first since they are among the Most Wanted player irons here.  (Why weren't the 639's part of the test?)

The weather finally cooperated today. I got to try out the JB Wedge.  Feels good and I was able to hit about 30 balls to try it in different situations. So far very pleased. The first photo is after 30 shots from fairway, and rough. No cleaning. No sand shots today they are all mud pits with standing water after all the rain we had over the past few weeks. The second two are after cleaning the club. The black finish held up well so far. I was worried about the finish. I typically go with satin or chrome, But this was not available in satin yet.

I recently purchased a set of 699 Pros, 4-PW and love them!    KBS Tour 120 stiff shafts.  Worked with a local fitter to get my specs down, called Jason at Sub70 and we worked out the details.  I have gotten them out on the course 3 times so far.  The ball flight is incredible.  Really enjoying them so far.
