Ohio Spies 2023 Meet Ups

I enjoyed playing there.  Wasn’t a lot because it was pricey.  I think it was always semiprivate.   Last summer it was still listing tee times.

@Mr_Theoo and I played there a few years ago. I don't remember what you had going on. I really enjoyed the course, but don't recall it being as pricey as it was when we were trying to plan something last year. Maybe it was an early spring discount?

I played in a golfweek event about 6-7 years ago.  It was a good course.

Sorry I've been out of the loop a minute. I know I've thrown some courses out there, but I've come to a realization. I don't think anyone wants to drive to a mud pit in April, so if we're going to have a meet-up this month it should be at Turkeyfoot Lake in Akron.

Yes the course has a weird name, but it is unique for the area. For those Spies not in NE Ohio, the course sits in a region called the Portage Lakes and actually has a sand basin. It drains incredibly well and is always in awesome shape. It tops out around 6400 yards, but has arguably the toughest and nicest greens in the area. I don't want to do Master's weekend, so I am looking at the 15/16 or 22/23. Let me know who is in and I will set up something for early afternoon.

Down here in the Dayton area if anyone is around? Hosting an event at NCR this month if anyone is interested! 36 holes/one day event so it would be worth the drive for most people.

My daughter has an internship in Cincy this summer - if you Buckeyes plan a outing in SW Ohio and you don’t mind a Hoosier joining in, I would be pleased to kill two birds with a daughter visit and some Spy Golf.

@IndyBonzo would love for you or anyone else to come out. Got about 20 North American Golf Tour events in the Dayton and Cinci market this season. I’m also a member at Country Club of The North (a Nicklaus course) and will let everyone know when they are having guest days so I could get a block of players out.
If you want to come out for a NAGT event I can pair the spies together which would be fun for everyone!

Just wanted to get an idea of a date. I've got one vote for the 16th and one vote for 23rd. Does it matter to those who live closer? We could also do the 29/30 if that ends up being a better date for everyone. Just if we're gonna go for the 16th I want to get it booked.

I won’t be able to play on the 16th I’ve got a prior commitment, but the 29th works for me.  If everyone decides the 16th is better I’ll definitely make the next outing

As of now, I don't think I have a particular preference. I'll check with Mike at league tonight and see if something works better for him.

I think that's up to whoever wants to. I've never walked Turkeyfoot, but it doesn't seem like it would be bad. The back 9 has a little roll to it, but nothing bad. And the front really just has that short par 4 #5 and the last part of #7 that go up hills. On their website its $49 to ride, $35 to walk.
