COBRA Releases Fully 3D Printed LIMIT3D Irons

Saw this on the main thought and I have been curious where the 3D printing could go for Cobra and this release looks amazingly interesting and really highlights the potential of shapes and processes that could never be cast or forged. The weight savings are just incredible. Taking out 88 to 92% of the weight in that part of the club while maintaining the structural integrity through the lattice is quite the feat.

I wonder how this continues to push things and where the next iteration goes. I am sure big steps will need to be made to take this from a limited release at 3,000 a set to a true release will take time, but things are moving fast. This in tandem with AI/modelling of shapes the literally were not possible to be developed before 3D printing feels like there is more we will see in the space.

I wonder what other people are thinking.

I was wondering if someone would post this story up. These clubs look fantastic and will probably be great performers. I love how Cobra is always on the cutting edge of golf innovation.

Really nice looking golf clubs.

Thank God they didn't make them 2 or 3º weaker lofted.
Even with brand new irons in my bag, that might have pushed me over the edge.

I think they look fantastic, and the one video I watched on YouTube looked very promising. I am ALL for a more compact head with greater forgiveness. The deal breaker for me is the initial estimated price, I think I saw $3k?

If the price would end up being in a competitive scale comparative to other major OEMs when they hit retail, it’ll be very tempting to at the very least hit them, if not bag them as a step forward from my Aerojet irons.

I think the price shows you how far this is from being a full production option. The article said they can make 20 heads a day, so not even 3 whole sets in a day. That numbers is going to need to go way up for each machine, or these 3D metal printers need to be much cheaper so they can run a bunch at once. Until then they will be pricey, but I am sure price will come down in the years to come.

Very true. And there will always be buyers of limited additions.

They are nice looking but wouldn't dirt accidentally fill in the back of the cavity, have fun getting that cleaned out
