I should also mention by ditching arccos last year I am looking forward to seeing what new shot tracking system I should dive into next season. There will be something, just not sure what as of yet!

... As the linebacker in high school that hit me too many times when wearing my yellow jersey said in my yearbook "I had a great time knocking you down. It have been fun. But fun have to come to a end." I get the feeling more than a few posting here would complain about winning a dozen ProV1's because they are the wrong color.
... I am reading the same comments over and over and over and over again. After 106 pages I doubt anyone has changed their minds about this issue. Nobody wants a roll back for Ams. Nobody. Yet some of us realize if it happens we will adjust and life goes on. Or ignore the new rule and play whatever ball they choose. Fwiw I have been playing a "rolled back ball" for over a year now and I can honesty say it has improved my game.
I bowed out of the core discussion a while ago. I have my own thoughts and views, however still feel that it is truly way too early. Lots can change, lots can be adapted and even more can be developed over the next while before this actually happens. Plus I just can't be bothered to get worked up over this. Golf is too much fun and the enjoyment of playing different courses, with different people is the main reason why I golf. The challenge will always be there regardless of the ball I am using.

Haven't really played much Bridgestone on the past, but will still be interested in these reviews!

I'm 67 and the original Blueboard, back in "my day" was the bee's knees for me. Back then my SS was around 105. Now? Ha!! The shafts I've settled into lately are older shafts. One real old...Aldila NVS in regular flex. I also loved the Fuji Motore VC6.1 in Regular flex.
If I was to buy one of the Ventus shafts which one do y'all feel I would like the best. I doubt that there's anything in the Black line and I see more in the Red line on the Champions Tour.
@GolfSpy BOS @GolfSpy_BNG @GolfSpy_BEN have all used the red and others in the ventus line do I will defer to them!

We asked this question in the rollback thread, and I think it deserves a deeper dive. The question was just as the title reads and the overwhelming majority said yes you do in fact care and or watch pro golf. We want to know why!

The rise of youtube golf and such has certainly pulled attention of various golf viewers. Then add in how OEMs are giving that great recognition with sponsorships and partnerships it shows that viewership is being split. While many see youtube golf as just entertainment (which it is) and less serious, that is the golf which many prefer and choose to watch. The slog of watching pro golf over 4 days with 18+ minutes of commercials every hour works great for those wanting background noise. Entertainment it can be a lot tougher and it is more suited to hardcore fans. Of course this is all just my opinion. In terms of LIV golf, there is just so little data to reference. They don't show or display their numbers anymore and when they did it was pretty abysmal.
May Rahm changes it ever so slightly, however not likely. A shift in the way we consume or watch golf is needed. Baseball has changed for the betterment of watching, so has cricket, curling and many others as the fan and viewer experience has been taken into consideration to improve the product for viewing. Pro golf hasn't done this and I hope something dramatic changes to make me want to watch more than the majors.
I actually look forward more to reading @Splatt reviews here on the forum and recaps leading into an event then the event itself.

Over the next week there will be a few updates to the Forum list. While many use the search function and even more use recent content or unread content streams we want to make the forum an easier place to navigate. At the moment we feel there are a lot of duplicate areas which can lead to less than ideal navigation. If you have questions or something you used to check on has been moved please let us know as forums staff and we can help you out.
There will be a lot of changes to the forum in 2024 and this is just part of them!

There are a lot of leaks out there and while we don't allow leaked photos on the forum (we enjoy being true to the OEMs we want to work with and respect their embargo dates), we have likely all seen the new photos of the new Cobra, TaylorMade, Callaway, PXG and other drivers among other clubs.
What equipment has you most excited? What do you think will be a must test or try item and what has the highest chance to make it into your bag?
The forum staff are all interested in the new Callaway Triple Diamond Max which could be a perfect blend of club for many of us.

I don't have a lot that would be considered a must replace. The mid long clubs (hybrids) are always in flux, but I can say the rest of the bag is pretty well set. I do have some new potential wedges coming, but that was on the list prior anyway!

Quick morning at work to get setup for a larger maintenance day at the curling hall. Kids had up and down night last night with the littlest one not quite adjusting to real food as well. Ivan was just wired after his 3-5pm nap. Too many new toys to play with and too much overload!

Evening all, my bag currently looks like this,
Driver 9 G430 LST
FW 5 wood 18 +-1.5 G430 Max
Driving Iron U505 20
5 iron 25 T200
6 iron 28 T200
7 iron 32 T150
8 iron 36 T150
9 iron 40 T150
Pw 44 T150
W1 48 T150
W2 54 SM9
W3 58 SM9
I’m really feeling the need for a hybrid in between my U505 and the 5i the gap is currently 218yd ish to 183/188 ish with the 5 iron. Just feel like I need a 200 yard club as I don’t like ‘taking some off’ the u505 or trying to take the skin off the 5iron
im around 97-100 mph club head speed.
any thoughts on a g430 4 hybrid at 22 degrees??
TIA
Defnitely heard good things about the G430 hybrids. Can't say it would be a bad shout to check it out and try one!

+1. I’m beyond tired of the drama. I’ll watch majors and The Players but the rest is optional. Where I used to block out time to watch other tournaments, I don’t anymore, I can find plenty to do. If I have nothing to do, I’m as likely to watch the LPGA as the PGA - I have yet to watch any LIV event, other than a 10 minute sample in their first year and I don’t see that changing.
That's where this all gets a little scary for the tours. When the viewing is bad and ppl are tied is it, it then becomes very optional. I'll get up at 2am to watch an F1 race. Mainly because there are only 22 races per season. Football used to be the same way. There are only 20 weeks or so with payoffs.
There is too much golf, too many commercials that outside of the majors and maybe a handful of others it doesn't seem special or enticing. Not too mention Thursday and Friday coverage is usually borderline unwatchable.
Something big needs to change to get interest back for many and that doesn't seem to be happening anytime this season.

I know not an actual comparison, but for those really against all this. When the tees are set far back in the tee box so the hole effectively plays 5 to 10 yards longer than a middle or front tee placement is that upsetting?
Most courses do a good job I'd rotating pin placements as well. But my course has 6 placements. 5/6 are the easiest by far, playing 4 shots easier. 3/4 are not bad but definitely the middle setup and 1/2 are just mean. Take away most of the best scoring opportunities.
Or course I know combined with a rollback ball it could be magnified, but if things were setup just more difficult or long one day over the next 6 years are these things that are truly upsetting or make someone not want to play?
I ask because a few of these things can have a far greater impact than say 5 yards off the driver with a rollback ball.
Again I know combining them magnifies it. But curious on thought processes for these situations now as is.

I just purchased a set of the Kirkland Signature blade irons for $499. Actually, I bought 2 sets. One for myself and one I've got listed for sale for $750. They have a good feel to them and I like the launch angle, spin and distance I get from them. I'm a 5 handicap and in the old days I won a few club championships. I had the club champion parking space, my photo in the lobby, etc. Anyway, I shot a 78 today with the Kirkland blades and I must say I'm impressed. That was with two doubles.
Not to be picky but blades? Or are you referring to the new hollow body players distance irons?

Got out Friday afternoon to play 9 holes with my dad. We don’t get a lot of sunny days in the 50’s in late December so we took advantage of the first amount of free time I’ve had in weeks, and with all the stress I’ve been under at work with an upcoming merger, this round couldn’t have come at a better time!
Finally got a chance to take the Caley 01 irons out on the course. With it only being my second time hitting the irons, I don’t think there’s any way I could have hit them much better than I did yesterday.
Hole 1: Popped up my drive, hit a fairway wood just short of the green. Didn’t get a chance to hit the irons.
Hole 2: Sky’d another drive I was left around 196 out. Hit 2 balls with each 6 iron. My score ball with Caley wasn’t struck well and ended up 15-20 yards short of the green. Topped my second ball. Both shots with the TaylorMade were short and way right.
Hole 3 : Hit my drive in the trees right. Hit out and had around 144 to the hole Hit 2 approach shots with each 9 iron. Score ball with Caley landed center of the green. 2nd end up on fringe. With the TaylorMade both shots missed right of the green.
Hole 4 : 153 yard par 3. Fist shot with Caley landed center of green 15-20 feet from the hole but 3 putt bogey. Second shot landed on fringe short and right. With TaylorMade 1 shot was topped second was way right
Hole 5 : Approach Shots from 135. With Caley 01’s, I missed 10 yards right and one over the green. TaylorMade I shanked one dead right and put up the Rac’s for the rest of the round.
Hole 6: I get a great drive on a short par 4 was only 30 yards out. I did hit a practice 4 iron off the tee that went dead right.
Hole 7 : 205 yard par 3 downhill,Caley 01 6 iron. First shot went right in the trees and bounced out 2nd shot was pin high on right fringe .
Hole 8: 130 yard approach shot: 2 shots with the Caley 01 PW 1st shot was 15-20 yards right of the green, Second was landed on the right fringe .
Hole 9: Best drive of the day left me 142 out Hit a 9 iron 4 foot on the green and it spun back off the green. I don’t think I’ve ever spun one back like that before.
This picture shows my dad fixing may ball mark and how far off the green it ended up. The pin was about 4 feet past where my ball landed.
I thought my dad was videoing a bunch of my shots for the review, but it appears I didn’t do a very good job of showing him how to use my phone. I have a bunch of 3 second videos of me setting up to the ball. I did get one usable video of the approach shot on 9. I’m struggling to get it loaded and n my phone, I’ll try to edit on my computer later.
The Caley irons were very impressive. Ended up with 7 bogeys, a triple and a par with 3 3putts.
Thanks for sharing!
Where do you find these irons excelling compared to your old ones and is there anything about your old irons you wish the Caley had or were able to do better?
