also i’d like to find a tensei white or kaili white for low launch/ spin reasons. do you know which is more stable of these?

    Maxfli Tour X Deals

Check out these. I think you'll find that will help get the spin started in the right direction and then you can work with what head and shaft will work. While shaft will influence spin, it won't necessarily take away spin.

I use Pro v1 and whatever i find on course. Try to only use premium balls but whatverr i can get. I plan to sell the gamer and get a callaway rogue st td for affordability. would you recommend? or get the max ls?

I didn't really love either. Wanted to but didn't work for me. How that is me.

As long as you can hit them prior and see done data points then go for it!

The ball makes such a massive difference on spin and so much more. If you can stick to one ball, try the maxfli tour X if you are a high spin player. Pretty sure if you check the deals tab up top in the gray. Go to dicks sporting goods you can get 4 dozen for less than $100.

  3. What golf ball do you play? That will play a massive role in spin. Where are your strike locations?

Sim plus or whatever it was called will be lower spinning. I am similar to you, but went with the Paradym Triple Diamond and it is a wonderful lower spinning head.

It will be very hard to say one thing or another with any certainty. Start trying to see if a different ball may help, if not then look at lower spinning heads (non max versions) but be sure to test and try them first if possible!

I wish the survey had asked the million dollar question of will you follow the new rule in 2030.

I answered it as if I would but I most certainly won't.  My guess is that this will change by then but should it remain the same I simply won't play by the rules and won't maintain a handicap at that point.

I play golf for fun - losing 7 or so yards off of driver and a like number off of irons is not helpful in that regard. I don't' hit the ball far enough as it is and I'm as long as or longer than many of the people whom I play with, even those younger than me.  They are taking what's not broke, in fact what is working the best that it has in decades and running the risk of ruining it.

    Good luck

    I can always do a follow up poll in 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029 and then finally 2030

Sadly, my initial enthusiasm was tempered when I opened the box and took the putter out.

There looks to be some type of grease or similar that was left either on the grip or got into the plastic bag that the putter came in and is now all over the grip. It has discolored the white of the grip, sadly.

I haven't reached out to LAB yet, but I will. I've wiped off the grip, but the yellow-ish residue is well into the grip by now and it's a little stickier than a normal grip would be. *sigh*

I will say, the headcover doesn't disappoint though. Thick, strong magnets, and really nice stitching.

More thoughts to come on the putter itself.

Thats too bad. I did notice the white on my grip changed color over time this season, but that is more due to regular wear and tear and use.

Yeah once I saw a photo of the red I couldn’t go boring platinum. It’s possible it won’t hold up to chips etc as well but hopefully I can take good care. I read a few bits of stuff about red being helpful for lining up putts due to the contrast with the green of a green, so figured why not try it out!

I love everything about that putter. The grip while I don't love white looks absurdly amazing.

To sum it up, if you want less distance, don't try to regulate/block distance by rules on equipment but make distance less desirable by setting the courses and designing them in ways that stop rewarding the longest hitters who spread the ball. If they manage to be long and straight, good, they should be rewarded!

Unfortunately strokes gained argues against this in basically every measurement. Rough or no rough the closer it can be to the hole the better.

The grow the rough is also a tough one because of all the places that can't.

Finally while maybe not as important I think that the make the course different or change that puts pressure on the individual courses and adds to their financial burden.

I just think this whole thing is a no win for anyone.

Stay tuned for tomorrow when our forum article comes out!

I am wondering about the dilution as well, nothing new in golf, trying to get the name players to play in every event.

I believe once the merger is complete and we see what the commitments by the best players in the world are, then we will have a better idea however am I going to watch Patrick Cantlay at the "bob hope desert classic" probably because I love watching Pros play some of the courses I have played, or the Waste Management in Phoenix, yeah probably as I am not playing much in the winter but the average golfer maybe not.

Lots of interesting things coming down the pipe I am sure...

I'm on the wake me up when we get there phase of a long road trip. Tired of playing games, don't want to listen to the radio or read a book. Just let me sleep till it's over and we get there.

Truly it has all killed every little bit of joy I had watching golf. The majors will always be good to great, but the rest is the pure definition of optional viewing. Between commercial loads, bad timing (that's a me thing) and so many of the good story lines been taken away and focus being on the two leagues and their nonsense I'm out.

Got out to play a round this past Friday, and used the Odin balls, and as others have echoed, there's really only one takeaway: the ball is legit.  Soft off the putter (my preferred feel) and wedges, excellent spin (but not excessive), and a great sound/feel off driver.

I was also playing in gusts of up to 30mph, and other than one shot (that was user error - way too much cut spin), the balls did exactly what I was hoping to see - held true to line and allowed me to pick a point knowing that the wind would guide them home. Trickiest one, by far, was a downhill 180 yard par-three that plays 160 normally, but the wind was blowing into and across, right to left.  Hit 6 iron (my normal 180 club), aiming at the bunker off the right of the green, and the ball drifted beautifully to the left edge of the green, just past pin-high. Two-putt par made easy work out of what could have been a really tough hole.

I can honestly say I wasn't a huge fan of the over-large logo when I first got the balls, but it REALLY makes identifying my ball a lot easier - there's literally no other ball on the market like it, lol.

Took a couple of "glamour" shots on a par 3 where we were waiting for the group in front of us.  (first shot is the 55 yard chip that took a peek in the hole on its way by - one of two tap-in birds on the day)

Lovely photos that make many of us seasonal golfers tear up a little more than we would like.

My personal favorite is the Nike slingshot irons followed closely by the sumo SQ 2.

I always thought they would come back and release the irons again sell out Costco style but it doesn’t look like that’s happening.

I was wondering if anyone was going to call out the slingshot irons!

No problem,  if they can’t follow the simple instructions in the first post, doing the testing and following the testing instructions would be impossible 😂

Which I mean is too bad because we are begging to get these in the hands of someone new, fresh and who likely feels they have no chance at being selected.

    Fingers crossed for the rest!
