Despite picking up a player to get a full roster, I still might have my first 0-2 week, but if I don't, I'll have one single player to thank:

@GolfSpy STUDque: official stats guy, is this the most unbalanced roster of the season?

Looks pretty unbalanced to me.  It sounds like I need to thank @blackngold_blood for dropping McDowell a couple of weeks ago.  Don't get too excited, though.  Be prepared for him to get nailed by the "00sportsman's rooting for me" curse.

  2. Good job on the weight loss.  @Kenny B mentioned Dillards, and I'd second that.  I've bought several Callaway shirts from them on sale for pretty cheap.  Don't know about tall, but they seem to have a pretty big selection.  I'd contribute checking out LL Bean online.  While they're mostly known for their hunting gear, I used to buy 2XLT dress shirts from them so they'd stay tucked in, and I know they offer polos.

Along similar lines, my "baby" turned 18 yesterday - makes me feel old. In about 5 months, we will have two in college and be empty nesters.

Oh to have an empty nest (for a while at least).....mine are 28 and 30, and still with me.  Plus, we have a 6 year old grandson who has lived with us since he was 6 months.  I love them all, but could stand a little quiet and privacy for a while.

+1 I was thinking the same thing while everyone else gloated about having such good teams that they can't drop anyone.  Luckily (or unluckily) for me, I have a bunch of scrubs who are playing in the opposite-field event.  2 of which I had to add last week to get a full roster.

    I'm not even sure I have 4 can't cut guys.  Maybe 2....maybe

Even though it sucks playing the oppo-event, weeks like this are interesting because they lay in a wrinkle to owner planning.  They all count!

    Etulain and Matty J FTW!

I said 6, but the reality is at least two of them are guys that I root for, so I don't want to let them go even though they have done nothing for me so far this year.

Currently all four of my guys, two of whom I picked up Tuesday, are a combined -13 for the day and are all projected to make the cut.  I can't get J. Day and A. Noren to do that!

...that fact that they couldn't figure out how to make the season work with match play is mind boggling... it's almost like you are grabbing web.com guys just to get some sort of points.  stupid; I won't be starting a full lineup cause I'm not going to drop some of my key guys just for a single week in which the platform can't get their stuff together.

I wish my roster was good enough that I couldn't drop anyone.  I basically have 6 guys that I'm not willing to part with.  The last 4 spots are a revolving door and I look at those spots as a complete crap shoot .

I generally make a ton of moves but I somewhat like my roster compared to what's available. I only have 3 players that I started out with. The rest are all from waivers. Although I guess that's not surprising since my team what autodrafted after the Rory pick.

It tells you how many transactions everyone's made somewhere. I just can't seem to find it atm.

I just got a chance to look at it (on my mobile) and saw the number of moves you've made.  I hadn't really paid that much attention to what everyone did with their rosters, but it's nice to see I'm not the only one shuffling more than a blackjack dealer.

Hope one of my two wins it otherwise I'm screwed! I'm not going to kill my team just to pick up some scrubs for a week.

Interesting how different strategies come into play.  I've managed to go 12-4 and have made at least one roster move every single week.  My bottom 5 on the roster are completely different than the bottom 5 I started with.

Will make for an interesting week. I have one player as well. The question for managers will be are you going to build a team to maybe get a win or are you going to potentially throw away this week? It is what makes the game interesting and really determines who is the best season long manager.

I've got two playing, and just can't decide whether I'm going to try to pick up one or two, or ride it out.  As much as I've complained about Alex Noren, I can't seem to let him go........should be easy, shouldn't it?

  9. Played Arcadia Municipal today.  One of the better courses for me to play.  Something like 5800 yards and WIDE open.  @fozcycle and @MattF will probably have a hard time believing it after Friday's debacle, but pulled off a 91, with FIVE 3 putts and only 1 penalty (We won't talk about the quad on a 160 yard par 3.)

Pulled off two birdies on par 5's.  I hadn't had a birdie in who knows how long.  Smoked a drive on 13 (only about 475 par 5, probably playing 460), left about 190.  Rolled a 5 iron onto the green and left about 10 feet.  Missed the eagle putt by about 3 inches.

Pushed my drive a little left on 15 (490 par 5), hit a solid 3h just short and right of the green.  Went a little long on the chip and ran it across the green one onto the fringe, then rolled it in through a foot of fringe about 6 feet down a little slope for 4.

Played my Ping i20's with stiff CFS shafts today, and I think they may stay in the bag for awhile.  Did a lot more chipping around the green with my 9 iron, and that really helped as well.

I'll ask you, but this applies to a few others in the thread here: how do you get things out of your left pocket while (presumably) wearing a golf glove on your left hand?

A recurring pattern in the thread is that righties put most of their stuff in their right front pocket, and lefties in the left. This makes sense, not simply because of the strong hand, but because digging a tee out of your pocket with a glove on is a total pain.

Or does no one else struggle with this?

You're not the only one who struggles with that, which is why my stuff goes in the left pocket.  The issue isn't getting a grip on stuff, it's the glove turning the pocket inside out pulling it out.

Being a relatively new member here, and reading a lot of interesting and well written posts, I wonder what does everyone do for a living?  How many golf professionals are here, who is in the corporate world, who is retired?  Just curious and figured for some this could also be a good tool for other, this can be an area to get other advice or networking opportunities.  I love the atmosphere here at MyGolfSpy, I don't get the feeling of being inferior or looked down upon by people in the golf industry.  Thank you all for that!  I hope others feel the same!

I am a middle school science teacher.  Yeah, I work with 12-14 year old kids that most people just scratch their heads at.  I can tell you that everyday is an adventure.  I coach football and baseball (the golf job is a hard one to get), and I also work in the summer at one of the areas golf courses and coach a childrens league there.

You've got more patience than I do.  I get them when they leave middle school and get to try to teach them Algebra, or I get them after they already failed Algebra and have to take it over again.  Down here, football is year-round so that is my only coaching job.

  12. Left front pocket has a few tees, divot tool and ball marker.  It may have an extra ball, depending on the situation.  Right front is empty unless I take my glove off on the green for putting.  Back pockets are empty most of the time.  I don't like a bunch of stuff in my pockets.  I will stick a small towel/rag in the right rear for cleaning the ball on the green, but generally won't notice if it's there.

Had my first round of the year and first since October this afternoon after buying a new M5 driver.

Played at San Carlos Golf Course and shot a nice (for me) 86. Had a monster 289 yard drive but I suspect it was path assisted, but I also had a legit 284 yard drive right down the centre. Most of my drives were over 230 with the exception of 2, but I was running out of gas after the fitting this morning. All in all, I'm happy and looking forward to Fridays iron man golf with Rev, Foz and sportsman.

In case you want to see some bad golf, here's the link: https://dashboard.golfpadgps.com/round/RC4U48JU#1

Hey, 289 is 289.  Doesn't matter what it hit getting there.

You haven't seen bad golf.  Just wait until Friday!  It will completely change your definition of "bad golf."

We won our flight at the member/guest at the PGA Village. 21 flights in total. The playoff was 10 teams go to #1 and 11 teams go to #10. We went to 10. Format is alternate shot with 4 teams advancing to the next hole. Tie breaker is a chip off. It was quite a sight. In addition to the 11 teams there were maybe another 25 groups following in their carts.

We drew #7 to tee off. Some great drives and some ugly drives prior to my partner. He gets up and tops it 40 to 50 yards into the junk and after about 50 of us took the 3 minutes to find the ball it was declared lost. I had to tee it up again in front of the crowd. Thank goodness I got it in the fairway about 220 yards. Left him with about 140 and he hit it 120. I chipped on and left him about a 40 footer. We picked up but had a great time.
