cnosil
Did about a half hour of short pitches, between about 20 to 40 yds - try to hit 4 balls in a row the same way and get them to end up in a cluster. Moderately successful .. better than the start of this season but still not good enough for the MGS All Star Team I need to do this as well; weakest area of my game. cksurfdude 1 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/:Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
Flipper554
Spent about twenty minutes in the practice bunker from all types of lies. Went to the practice green picked a flag about 60 feet away and hit shots with everything from lob wedge to 7 iron. About 15 shots with each club switching clubs between shots. Then putted until my back told me to quit. I do this routine ever Wednesday, keeps short game sharp. cnosil, Canucklehead and cksurfdude 3 Quote Driver: Taylormade QI10 3W: Taylormade QI10 5W: Taylormade QI10 Hybrid Taylormade 4 QI10 Irons: 5 to LW Taylormade Stealth Putter: Taylormade Spider Tour Ball: Taylormade TP Bag: Hot Z Canadian flag
Kenny B
Last Sunday I chipped in 2 birds and almost another, so today I thought I would practice more chips!! It's fun watching chips go in. I set up two irons; one just on the green next to the fringe and the other a club length onto the green. Then chipped from various distances so that the ball landed between the two clubs and hops over the second rolling to the hole. I was looking for how much rollout I get with LW, SW, GW, and PW. I found that I need to practice this more. Next, I went to the range. Ugh! hate the range, but I need to work on getting more rotation on backswing and followthrough. I've gotten lazy in my old age. Sure, I can not make a big swing and put it down the middle; easy on the body, but not conducive to short shots into the green. I need more distance, and I had better start working on it now. I'm not getting any younger. cksurfdude, cnosil and revkev 3 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
revkev
Hit a number of balls today. Back range so I would alternate targets with five iron shots or a combo of wood and iron to different targets then go drop faster be balls around the practice green and play those out, come back and repeat. I'm making very solid contact right now. Nearly every shot is going the same height regardless of the club that I was hitting. Even four wood off the turf is a nice high ball flight. Kenny B
I spent 2 hours this morning on the putting green. Why? Because I bought a new putter!!! When it came, I HAD to rush out and give it a try. What did I get, you ask? Answer: Ping Sigma G Doon (pictures coming soon). Putter is awesome on putts less than 4 feet. I had trouble with distance control on 10-20 footers. That's why I spent 2 hours. By the end of my practice the Doon was feeling pretty good. #Doon #excited MattF, cnosil, Flipper554 and 1 other 4 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

cksurfdude
Did some putting and chipping a few days ago .. don't know why I haven't been spending more time on the "around the clock" drill, but from now on that'll be a large part of my putting practice! Followed that up the next day with an unusually productive and good range session. Focus was to make a good, synced-up turn back and through .. with holding a good posture and making clean, solid contact. Hit mostly wedges - PW, 54° - and brought my DST 8i along, too. After a few of those started hitting the regular 8i nicely. A few more wedges - alternating short/long, high/low, up in stance / back in stance - then a few hybrids then a few more wedges and a few 8 irons (sorta..) towards the target; then a few drivers only to confirm to myself that it still needs to sit neglected and alone back in the garage... Finished up with a bunch of wedges to the nearest (56 yd) target, and left pretty satisfied with the overall quality and consistency of the majority of my shots. TSauer
Brought the shag bag to the course and practiced with my irons. I feel like I'm trying to rush everything, which is a hard habit to break. So I tried slowing down my swing and getting that Hideki pause at the top, and wow, it helped tremendously. The crazy thing is I recorded my swing and it doesn't even look like I paused, but it definitely felt like I did throughout my swing. Maybe that just goes to show how fast my tempo was, I'm not sure. But I'm not sure if I've ever hit iron shots better than I did earlier today.
