Kenny B
On Fridays we have a big gangsome going off the tees at noon. Practice facilities are full until then. I got there a little before, and by the time I head to the practice area, it's a ghost town. Nobody showing up to play for more than an hour, so I have the place to myself... except for this girl. I was practicing chipping because I have not been to the practice area in more than a week and it showed in my recent rounds of golf. I shot 75, 76 but poor chips cost me some pars. I was chipping to three different pins on the putting/chipping green. The first dozen or so chips were awful, but the more I did it the closer I got to the holes. Even made a couple!! Generally, I was within 2-3 feet. When I was retrieving the balls for the next shots, I glanced at the girl chipping on the other side of the green. On about the same length chip, she was putting them within 6 inches of the cup. Granted, she was chipping to only one hole and I was mixing it up, but I see I have more work to do!! revkev
attachment=54295:IMG_0713.JPG] Got in a late afternoon session while the grandkids were getting ready for trick or treating. I played in a strong cross wind all day Sunday that caused me to fight my swing the last few holes. I worked hard on rotating rather than sliding into the ball causing my old friend the hook to come out. It took 15 to 20 swings but I got it worked out beautifully. I had great balance and was striping my long clubs and then the short ones were on point coming back down. Peppered the flag with my wedges at the end. It really helped that I had a mini tour guy next to me. He had such beautiful rhythm that I simply watched and copied. Great prescription for hitting solid shots. Kenny B
A rare session on the range for me. I've been playing well lately, but it mostly from scrambling. A video of my swing shows that my head is moving forward on the downswing; not staying behind the ball. As a result I am not creating much lag which is evident by my lack of distance. I spent about 30 minutes with our local teaching pro working on lag drills; hitting flop shots as high as I can with my 58*. Got the a lot higher by the end of the session. Later this week after a few more days of practice, we will be looking at lag in my driver. kardboard.kid, cksurfdude, Rickp and 2 others 5 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

revkev
I practiced by playing the par 3 course connected to our local muni. It took me an hour and five minutes to play nine holes walking - I hit two balls on each hole except 1. Didn't use a tee, got to hit every club in my bag except driver, 4 wood and five hybrid. I used to do this a lot but haven't for the past two years. My distance loss really stood out.
