Popular Post revkev Posted June 6, 2018 Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2018 First time under 180 today! 179.2 - that puts me at 30.2 pounds lost since February 18th. @Jacustomgolf - I'll race you to 170. For now my final goal is 168. I may go for 165 if my PA says its okay. She was hoping for 185 when she told me to loose weight last year so she's very happy - as am I. What's worked for me is not doing anything too dramatic - lots of subtle changes that have led to bigger ones that will be more sustainable in the long run. My program has required charting my food. During these four months I've had pizza three times - two slices each time - but I coupled it with water first and a big salad so that I didn't have too much pizza. I've had ice cream twice but no other desert type food even when I went to a five course wine tasting meal at the club - Penny and the lovely Laura got my cheese cake when I got home. I have had some form of produce with every meal during that time and my snacks have only been mixed nuts, plain greek yogurt and fruit, cottage cheese and fruit or fruit of some type. Activity wise I'm getting my steps in by walking during work, jogging in place in front of the computer, going to the bathroom across campus including going up the stairs in the church balcony there and back, doing a couple of band workouts a week (my goal is to up that to 3 and make them more intense in the next phase) and two or three half hour sessions on the stationary bike each week. In the last 2-3 weeks I'm down a half a percent in body fat and up .7lb pound of muscle. I've seen a couple studies that have come out recently that show body fat % as a better indicator of overall health than BMI. BMI doesn't take into effect the body composition. Body builders and athletes have high BMIs due to the high muscle/low fat composition of their bodies. Don't get too discouraged if your BMI doesn't move the needle but your body fat % continues to drop. Today marks the end of the first 16 week phase of my fitness program. 30 lbs lost and nearly two inches on every measurable. I just finished lunch - I had lasagna from my favorite Italian hole in the Wall on Tuesday. I used to scarf the entire portion plus the salad and two pieces of bread. Today I had the other half of the portion and a salad that I made at home - no bread. I'm eating so much less and feeling so much better.
