Weight watchers worked well for me ten years ago - I should have stuck with it.

It's worked great for my wife, this is our third time doing it. She started back in feb and has lost almost 50lbs using it so far. I think it's a great program that does help you learn how to live and not be in a constant diet which is something I needed. I learned how to cut now I need to learn how to eat smart and live a little.

Good for you - it's a lot easier when both of you are on the same program.

Good for both of you! And it seems to me that this is what our thread is about, the journey to fitness and then staying there.

I'm still trying to get those last 5lbs off before moving to maintenance mode. But I have been very moderate along the way - I will eat things I like just less of them less frequently. The only thing I've stopped eating are cheezits. I know I'm done with them. :(

Weighed in this morning at 281.8. Since I got my scale in January that keeps track of everything it says I hit 28 pounds lost. I started this trek at 315 when this thread started and when I got the scale I was 309, so I'm down nearly 35 pounds. My goal is still 250 so I'm getting there and after I will adjust my goal. I'm getting there and I feel a lot better my only issue is I think I my blood pressure medications need to be adjusted.

Thanks Rev it's funny how some here have lost weight and noticed increased distance but I have lost a bunch of distance with my weight loss.

I started the Fasting diet a week ago, Still haven`t weighted myself but i started feeling better with the same clothes, more at ease in them. And it´s quite simple. I stop eating at 22h and skip every meal until 14h. I still drink a lot of water and tea and coffee, everything sugarless. Don`t know how much i lost but i do feel less infatuated and after the first days i don`t even thin about eating until lunch time with the boss. Every time i think i`m hungry i drink water, pure or with lemon or tea. Give it a shot for a week and tell me what you think.

I'm gaining distance for sure. Work on swinging something fast four time a week. If you don't have and aid just grab an alignment stick and swing it twenty or thirty times as fast as you can twenty or thirty times four times a week (in balance). The distance will come.

That's what one of our DI players does and she's cute, besides hitting the crap out of the ball.

In hanging around 205. Not great but not bad. Will get to 200 soon now looking at Labor Day. It's 20 lbs loss so I'm not complaining as 15 lbs was my initial goal. Just don't want to backslide which is a problem here as there's always a party somewhere

Some of the bad habits may be the result of lost weight, especially since most are doing some form of a workout too. Change in body shape, strength, and flexibility might have just enough impact on your tempo/timing/swing plane to make a difference. Just a guess, though.

Jumping on this bandwagon, I'm young and 6'3 but I'm at at the heaviest I have ever weighed at 228. Time to get back down. We are expecting in November and I have just been eating everything. I started my usual diet and exercise plan today. Basically eat smaller portions, run every day if possible. Looking forward to some accountability since the pregnant wife is probably not going to be much help at this point.  First goal is 215. Im really glad I stumbled onto this thread.

And others (me), not so much. I've lost 12 since this started, but need to do a better job managing my inputs.

12 lbs. is awesome!

That's when people started to notice that I was loosing weight which in turn motivated me to loose more.  Best of luck.

I just came from a workout at the hotel fitness center prior to heading to the Brewer game - can't wait for that one.  Should be fun - a new ballpark.

So I'm super late to posting an update since I first piped up and said I would get back to be healthy.

I have always battled consistency in my journey to not be a complete fat ass. I either go all in crazy work outs, rigid diets, strict measurement goals etc. or am all about the fried food, cake, and laziness.

I was inspired by a video at work today where one of our leaders talked about his guidelines for wellness and it was a nice wake up call that all of this is in my control and is actually supposed to take time. So today, for the first time in 4-5 months I walked 10k steps and ate relatively well. I'm calling that a win and am now looking to form a winning streak. Here's to tomorrow and the next step to being consistent.

It's definitely not easy to stick to a weight loss program. Tonight we had neighborhood “game night” which is senior speak for party. I was good, 1/2 dozen shrimp, cookie and some fruit and I was OK with it. Tomorrow night is Girls game night and Guys do dinner. I have been eating much lighter and maybe a beer. It's a slow process to change my bad habits.

I use “MyFitnessPal” app. I really haven't changed what I eat or drink, (too hard; I travel 40 wks a year) but reduced the amount. App helps, as I log everything I stuff in my yap. I'm down 30 lbs, keeping it off, now need to redouble to drop another 10+. Hang in there; like changing your golf swing, it doesn't happen overnight...
