2020 Best Most Affordable Golf Balls

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some great, affordable golf balls. I am sure it depends on your skill level, clubs ... I have a high handicap, but not a beginner. I use Ping G Max Irons, and a TaylorMade M1 driver w/Stiff Shaft (Have a Fast Swing). Any guidance, suggestions or recommendations based on your experience are welcome.

You can find last year's Srixon Z Stars for around $20/dozen at a few online retailers right now, which is a fantastic deal if you're looking for urethane covered balls. Last year's Srixon Q Star Tours can be found on closeout for around the same price as well at Dick's Sporting Goods. Softer feel but decent performance.

If your game really doesn't depend on too much spin around the greens, there's such a wide range of balls you can grab. Heck, the Top Flite D2+ Feels are $8 at Dicks right now and I think they're a pretty darn good ball. You can probably spend just a few bucks and grab a bunch of different balls and see which one you like the most for your game.

Affordable is different for everyone but Srixon, Bridgestone, or Snell would be on top of my list.   They periodically have specials for reduced prices with multi pack purchases.

During the year different balls go on sale at different times.  I have found that the best bang for your buck is Srixon Z-Star and OnCore Elixr.  Both of these balls can be had for $20/doz (or less).  I personally stock up on OnCore Elixr for $17.50/doz and they are my ball of choice.

Several good recommendations in previous posts. I think based on your high swing speed you should check out Quantix Golf. (F35-Conrol)

Not the cheapest ball but I would consider ~27$ affordable for a quality ball geared towards a golfer with high swing speed.

Good luck in your selections.

As you guys already know... I play several balls - not married to any. My main requirement is a urethane cover. Lately I've been enjoying the Maxfli Tour and Tour-x from Dicks. You can get two dozen online for around $19.95 a doz. I've scored a few of my best rounds (73-74) this summer with them. This price might still be a little much for high hcp players but, for a quality urethane ball  - might as well give them a try IMO.

Theres a lot of really great lower and mid priced balls out there.  Srixon Q-Star, the Bridgestone E12, Mizuno 566V and Maxfli Softfli are all good ones but really ever brand has good options.

I'd suggest looking at Snell.

If youre going to do that, you might as well look at Cut, Vice or Maxfli.  Its the same ball but cheaper because you arent paying the for the Snell name.

I haven't been a big fan of Cut. I've liked OnCore so far. Going to test out Snell and Vice

I purchased some repurposed/used balls, I am a high handicapper like you and shot my best round of golf with them. I used Bridgestone. Couldn't notice the difference between these and brand new ones. Paid about $1 a ball. I don't get much spin on my shots so these worked well for me. Just a thought

I picked up a pack of Kirklands (2 doz) to try.  At about £1.10 ($1.40) each they seem pretty good value.  Eurethane cover at that price is well worth a look.

I also like the Inesis 900, and plan to move to them as my main gamer.  at £20 doz they are same price as the Srixon AD333/Soft Feel etc here in UK.  They have a softer feel than the Kirkland.
