IndyBonzo
Still aceless. I had my closest miss last weekend playing with @GolfSpy_BEN on a 150+ yard par 3. My iron shot jarred the cup on the fly and ricocheted against the pin, jumping off the green to the left. The pin or cup left a pretty nasty scuff on the ball too. What an odd and bittersweet series of emotions: "That felt good. Looks good. Is this happening? Oh my G...!!! Wait, what? Did that just ...? Aw man. I'm chipping now?" Michael Milich
Which is more brutal? The one that finishes within 6 inches to a foot? Or The one that rolls right by the hole but finishes a couple feet away? I bounced one off the stick and it dropped to the green and sat about 4 inches from the hole. I have done that a few times over the years. I am still waiting on the one that actually drops in the hole. Erin B
I've had an albatross, never an ace. My son has had an ace, he's only been playing a couple years. I almost had an ace, playing on a cold October day. I think I've told this story before here. Anyway, the cup had ice up to the top of it so there was no hole. It was even with the green with the pin sticking out. I hit my shot and it rolled right to the pin, bounced off the pin just to the edge of the cup. If the cup had been empty or even had water instead of ice in it, the ball would have dropped. My buddies called it an ace, I did not, therefore no ace. Siamese Moose and IndyBonzo 1 1 Quote I could play golf every day and learn something new each time. Popular Post BIG STU
Well after over 50 years of playing this game I am now finally out of this club. Got my 1st on a regulation course 5-21-24. Our 11th hole at 137 yards over water. Hit an antique Macgregor 8 iron. I actually had given up after so many close calls over the years. I have had a bunch on Par3 courses but never one on a regulation course. Did it with 3 witnesses in my 4 some in a tournament plus a bud of mine walking his dog saw it too and one of the maintenance guys saw it too. I always figured it would come while I was by myself playing one of my vintage rounds. LOL it paid good too. Hit the Members Pool plus the league pool, It was also a closest to the pin hole for the event that day and of course I hit the birdie pool on that hole for the day. So see it can happen IndyBonzo, JohnSmalls, Indy_Oz and 9 others 4 4 1 3 Quote Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- - 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R---- Irons 5 thru PW 1980 Macgregor VIP Hogan Apex steel shafts--- SW -- Cleveland 588 56* S-400 Sensicore --- LW Vokey 58* SM5 L grind--- Putter 1997 Scotty Cameron Santa Fe Fluted Bulls Eye shaft--- Bag TM Flex Lite Stand---- Yeah I know only 11 clubs G

Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
At least I had a scare today. 140 yard 8 iron past the flag by about 10 feet then spun back down the slight slope. You can see the ball mark up top by the brown spot left of the pin. The amazing part is I don’t normally spin the ball enough to come back.
