Hand engraved MACHINE Ceremonial "Dress" Presentation Putter

Hey Guys,

Please see photos below of the first MACHINE Ceremonial Dress Presentation Putter!

There is a rich tradition with Presentation Putters, going back to the earliest days in golf. They were used as Trophies and commemorative items and were often quiet elaborate and exquisite in their making. Perhaps some of the first wall-hangers? lol

Dave first saw a presentation putter at the PGA Show about 20 years ago, and later some beautiful examples at the USGA Museum and later in Greg Ellis' amazing collection. He's been fascinated in the art ever since, and really wanted to make his own. Dave also wanted to bring in the Dress / Ceremonial Sword artistry, and the fine engraving found on the finest collector firearms, and western saddles to boot.

We're certainly not the first company to do this. James Ingles and Dave spoke quite a bit when he first posted on Golfwrx, and we are a big fan of his work. But it became apparent that it wasn't the perfect fit for us, since he wanted to make his own heads (which we totally understand and support!). What we really needed was an engraver whom we could collaborate with that was also a little closer to home here in the US, and perhaps with a little Texas / Western flair.

Dave's been working on this project for quite a few years now, and finally found who he thought was just the right artist and craftsman here in the US to help him pull it off. We'll tell the engraver's story and bio as we reveal more of our collaborative work, as he is a true artist and a rare find, and we are very proud to be working together on these special putters.

We will be doing more of these putters by commission, with custom choices for the amount of, placement of, and depth and inlays. Names and messages can be engraved in the putter and / or the medallion. This is really just a glimpse of what we plan for the Presentation series!

I hope you enjoy these sneak peek photos. Please let us know what you think!

Enjoy :)

-Chris

That looks a LOT like Kurt Wyatt's style of engraving.

I can tell you they weren't done by Kurt Wyatt :) More details to follow on the specific engraver :)

Thanks

Interesting, only two more I can think of are Weldon Lister Jr., and Ron Smith. And the more I think about it, the more I think these may be Lister engravings.

Very impressive! I hope no one ever actually puts that putter into play! It looks like it should be the trophy of some high profile tournament.

I say match it with a silver shaft and engraved leather grip!

I believe that's what they are, ceremonial for tournament champions, etc. Would someone put them into play? Sure, just look at Ari Techner of Scratch Golf's newest irons... Engraved by someone at Helis and Sons (actually James Ingle putters, but he's Helis's son I believe) unless I'm mistaken.

Regardless of whom the engraver was and what they're intended for, Chris, this putter is beautiful, and Dave had a great idea and great eye for what should've been done on the putter. I've gotta get with you on a putter sometime this year, I had an idea I want to try out after testing that one putter out.
