How Long Do You Keep Golf Gloves?

Until they either start getting holey, or more often when they get crusty or stiff. My hands don't sweat much, so I probably go through maybe 3-4 pairs a year playing once a week on average. I've been using Kirkland ones because 1) I'm cheap and 2) found they outperform the ones you find on the bargain racks at golf shops, and last longer

- I keep them until they are too worn to grip well or develop a hole.  I will wash them when they get too dirty but lately I don't get enough wear to wash them more than once or twice

How long do you expect your golf glove to last? And what glove do your normally use?

- I think I was spoiled when I first started wearing gloves.  I started using the company brand from Rockbottomgolf.com and found good feel and they were exceptionally long lasting.  I was getting 15-20 rounds plus practice out of them.  I still use their gloves as the price is good and they still have good feel but they do not last as long these days.  I also like the Costco Kirkland brand and are using both brands right now as I use gloves on both hands.  I find I'm getting about 2 months of usage with both brands, maybe a little longer with the Kirkland gloves which for me is 8-10 rounds plus practice about once a week.

Do you have a glove storage unit or do they just go in the bag after?

- I have a velcro piece on my towel ring that I attach them too.  Added a second piece to the other side of my bag to hang the second glove on.  Lets the gloves lay naturally rather than balling them up in a bag

The skin on my hands can get dried and chapped and can split and tear.  I spent several seasons reinforcing the wear points on my right hand with band-aids until I realized that I should just wear gloves on both hands.  So I'm a 2 glove guy.  I will use the gloves until they wear a hole in them or until they get too gross and slick from use and sweat.  I have a hitting bay set up in my garage.  Every day, I'm either playing a round of golf, or I'm hitting balls in the garage (or both if I have an unsatisfactory round).  I use newer gloves when I'm on the course and "experienced" gloves for the garage.  Since I'll hit 100-ish balls a day in the garage, I go through gloves faster there than the ones I use during a round.  I get Kirkland gloves to make up the difference.  The Kirklands are cheap, but I've found they wear and tear faster than a typical "premium" glove.  There is a lot of variation in size too.  My right hand glove will last 3 times longer than the left.  I prefer a more flexible glove, like the Red Rooster Cape, for my left hand.  It wraps around the grip more.  The left glove usually get replaced for wear.  The right glove usually gets replaced because of grossness or it's become too loose.  At the end of a round, I put the gloves on the velcro glove tab on my bag so they can air dry.  In the garage I lay them out on a shelf.

I play pretty traditional with taking my glove off around the greens - I tend to wear a tighter glove so it feels more like an extension of my hand. Sometimes I'll even take it off for a pitch/chip shot around the green. However, if I leave my glove on for a putt you better believe it's going to be both rushed and end up nowhere near the hole...

Realized I read the topic completely wrong LOL. A glove usually lasts me about 10-15 rounds. I could be waiting longer but I don't currently buy the most expensive gloves and prefer the feel of a glove with 2 rounds MUCH more than a glove with 20

I use mine until a hole or rip happens. I also rotate 2 at the same time. I'd would say 1 glove lasts 20 rounds and 20 practice sessions. I use leather but not brand name gloves.

I use the Red Rooster Cape, and have a subscription every 4 weeks after picking up a few of them when I first swapped over. 

Playing in the Florida sun and humidity, I tend to swap gloves mid-round and end up with wear on multiple gloves at a time. When a new subscription glove comes in, I generally keep the 'best' three gloves and retire any others. This lets me rotate between the two freshest and have a third as a backup in case of any tears/wear issues.

The Cape holds up pretty well given the sweat/dirt/moisture I play in. I've always got a solid grip between it and the grips I use (Golf Pride Tour Wrap).

I buy a new glove to start every season. Sometimes they last through the season, sometimes not. But for sure 1 new glove per year

Until they are no longer soft then I put them in a freezer bag and use them on the range.  Do not get a lot of wear on my gloves, make sure it fits properly when I purchase them.  A wrong fitting glove wears out very quickly and can costs you extra dollars.

I expect them to last forever, and I am not committed to one glove over another. However, I'm going to probably buy what is affordable because they all seem to last about the same.

I wear FootJoy WeatherSof until they almost have a hole in them which typically costs me two gloves a year.  If it rains I will leave them out to dry but otherwise they just go in the bag. I try to keep them flat or only folded over once (fingers down) to save space. I do have winter gloves and rain gloves to use in those situations so the WeatherSof's don't really see much bad weather.

How long do I keep a glove, no idea.  When the wear becomes a bit too noticeable that’s the end of it.  I keep the gloves in use (2 or 3) on my cart attached to a Velcro strip on my cart roof support.  They are in the shade and stay decent for quite a while.

I think the majority of golfers don’t buy gloves on brand, they buy them on price and durability. It’s someone that we purchase often. Main things that I’m looking for is good Velcro (because I’ve had Velcro stop working two rounds in), fit, and durability. As far as storage, I just throw them in my bag.

Maybe Red Rooster can put a magnet in the strap for storage? Golfers can hang them on the cart like a rangefinder instead of stuffing it in their back pocket and sitting on it. Or hang it on their bag to a club or other metal part.

Untill a hole appears in the heal of the plam. Some gloves it only takes 3 rounds, others a month playing 3-4 times a week.

I usually keep using my glove until it gets a hole somewhere that contacts the club. A Nike glove has lasted the longest for me but currently I'm using a using a FootJoy. Not much humidity here in AZ so the only thing that wears out the glove is hitting golf balls.

Playing 4+ rounds a week, all year 'round in Australia's subtropical climate, I do go through gloves a bit. I'd love to use premium Cabretta leather gloves, but they are price prohibitive as they are like cats, they don't like being washed. Synthetics like Bridgestone xFIXx (US$20, pack of 2) and Srixon All Weather (US$40, pack of 6),  all represent good value for me.

I’ll use mine until the tackiness wears off or the heel starts to show wear, typically 8-12 rds.  I wear Srixon cabretta leather, they fit snug and cost less than most premium gloves

I’m much like everyone else on here, keep gloves until they wear a hole. Even when they get a hole depending on how big it is I may use it now exclusively for range sessions. In the past I played one glove until I couldn’t but I found that rotating 2-3 (depending on weather) really helps with longevity. I expect to get a few months of play out of gloves playing at least twice a week. Currently I use a Callaway tour model because I found them on sale (previous season discount). Much like balls, I will play with whatever I have at the moment. As for storage, well I’m a bag stuffer (valuables pocket to be specific). What I look for in a glove is a soft feel without much synthetic materials (again, unless it’s super cheap). I have payed up in the past for “premium” gloves and found they weren’t much different other than the material.

I am trying to figure this out right now.  I have been using my current glove for about 10 rounds and the glove seems to be holding up fine but I also just ordered 2 gloves from the Red Rooster deal that MGS recently arranged.  I am also trying to glove case that Red Rooster sells. I am going to watch the gloves closely and see if I can notice a difference in the grips and feel between a Red Rooster and my Foot Joy. I am also really curious to know about the case and if it helps stop my gloves from drying out in the AZ heat.  I use a zip lock bag now and I know this isn't the same but I am curious if it is good enough until the glove wears out.

The Claw glove: I run a charity tournament and a couple years ago I bought a load of Claw gloves made by CaddyDaddy to give out at the tournament.  I'm still using one that is well over a year old (and I play golf 1-3 times/week March-November).  It has never gotten stiff or crusty and still has good grip.  Many of the golfers from our tournament have said the same thing and have asked for more.  Definitely a quality golf glove that will stay soft until you finally wear it out.

I usually have at least two sets of gloves in my bag. Right now I have TaylorMade and CaddyDaddy Claw golf gloves.  The gloves will last me for at least a season.  I will use them as long as they don’t have holes and remain comfortable. I have a large hand and fit and feel are very important. The Caddy Daddy Claw gloves are supper breathable, and surprisingly enough my TaylorMade leather gloves are well vented as well. I guess the bottom line is that I view gloves as a piece of necessary but disposable equipment, and at any point when they lose their comfortability they need to be replaced.

On average I switch gloves out 3 or 4 times a season.(Apr to Nov) as they get muddy and grass stains on them. I wear them from parking lot back to the parking lot. I keep two pairs in a glove compartment in my bag and switch between rounds. As I rotate one out, it usually goes to my range bag for use. As my range gloves get long in the tooth, I send them to the minor leagues which is my hitting net in the barn.  After that out the go. I've had good luck with gloves from MG Golf. Affordable, good fit, and they last.

I play about 3-4 times a week and in warm Florida.  And, I hold the club butt in my palm, so I'm a little rough on gloves in the heel area.  I try to get a month or so with each new glove, and typically have 2-3 gloves in play for humid conditions.  I've gone to MG Elite due to price and feel, and they have been good to me and my associates with service and wear issues.  I hit range balls with the worse conditioned glove.

Pretty much the exact same here in Tennessee. I use the Bionic gloves, which handle the wash very well. I lay them on the heater/A/C vent to dry.

I use Titleist gloves and get about 30 rounds of golf in with each pair.  Cheaper gloves don't last. I keep them in a zip lock bag with a desiccant bag or two. This keeps the gloves from getting crusty. I generally change them out because they stretch out and become a bit slick.

I use my glove until it either rips or becomes stiff. I have used a variety of gloves. Some will last without ripping and then harden, others will rip before glove starts to get firm. I've used the trick of putting the glove in a ziplock baggie and it helps keep it softer longer. It is hard to find a good glove that's both comfortable and durable. I would rather pay a little more for a glove that fits good, is durable, and lasts, than a cheaper one that will not hold up.

I'll have to try the caddy daddy claw glove. I just recently got the taylormade leather glove and it feels comfortable and durable, but have only used it once. Time will tell how it holds up.
