My 9i is still at the factory 38.5*, so if you look at it (and my gapping via Arccos), it makes perfect sense in the grand scheme of things. The yardages between the five clubs is roughly a 12-15 yard gap, which is right where I need to be. PW- 140 AW- 130 50- 115 54- 100 58- 80 (I never use it on a full swing, barely a 3/4) Makes all the more sense given the distances. It's a unique game. Slypanther
I have used 56* Cleveland 588, 57* 588, 60* 588, and 64* 588. Vokey has been in my bag through the year 52* SM7, 54* Raw, 58* bent to 56*, I'll likely bend it to 54*, Multiple 54*'s SM5, 60* SM4, a selection of design from over the prior years with 4*, 8*, 10* bounce: lastly my Vokey 60* bent to 64* the year before they offered the next year, that leaves my Vokey 62* to finish out my bag full of wedges that see some play each year, 20 years ago I decided that my wedge shots were flighting too high due to the new ball construction, having played balata, early urethane Professional, Tour Prestige, and removed the lead tape from the low back to now lead tape high on the back of the blade, some meticulous blade work to stay off the topline on the back, and installing X100's into the head, I have acheived my goal of lower filght, and late 2000, Pro V1 and high spin, flying a little shorter, but with wedges its not the furtest you can hit it but knowing your gapping and the shot the club was designed for, or shots that are not mishit with high grass surrounding the ball. My curious group mates ask why I put lead tape on the very back of my drivers, (MOI), lead tape on top some of my fairwoods (flight too high), not understanding the physics applied to golf equipment. Currently in my cart bag on my cart, TMB PW (45*) 48* Vokey, 54* Vokey, 60* Vokey. Being able to manufacture some shots to be useful, despite the differing of wedge loft. Play18
I have played with T200 P 43°, SM9 48°, 52°, and 58° the past couple of years. I use the 48° and 52° for full shots and 58° for greenside chips, pitches, and bunker shots. After reviewing my Arccos data, I use the 48° and 52° only a combined 4-5 shots total during a round, so I may switch to a SM9 50° and play 13 clubs. G0al3d
I currently play P790 5 - AW (50*) and am trying out Cleveland CBX full faces in 54* and 58* both are 12 bounce I still have a 56* regular CBX @ 12 bounce that was my jack of all trades club, but found that my open faced shots were not high percentage success shots. Thus the move to the 54 - 58 setup, I'm not entirely convinced yet that it's a better setup especially at my handicap. I don't really ever take full swings with the 58* and mostly try not to with the 54 but still do occasionally. Also not sure I need a full face club in the 54, but the larger size does inspire confidence (I'm also 50% sure full face grooves are completely snake oil ). I really want to improve my short game and have been spending time on it as I know it's going to pay dividends to reducing my handicap. The only other thing I'm wondering about is if the "forgiving" side of the CBX wedges pay more dividends on the lower lofted wedges vs sand and lob wedges? anyway open to some feedback on all of this, cause I do feel like I may be trying to solve too many problems at once which is something I know I tend to do Quote What's in my Pioneer Bag: Driver: G430 Max 10k 9* ( Speeder NX 50s) 3 & 7 Woods: G430 Max ( Speeder NX 60s/70s) 3 & 4 Hybrids: G430 (KBS Tour Prototype Hybrid 75r) 5 - PW Irons: Pro 243 (KBS $ Taper 120s) Wedges: RTX-6 50*/54* (mid) CBX&RTX Full-Face2 58* Putter: DF 2.1 TPT shaft Ball: Titleist ProV1

BobBC78
After many years of carrying a LW most of the time, I finally came to the realization that it probably hurt more than helped and replaced it with, of all things, a chipper. In this case Ping's ChipR (I've also used the Smart Sole 4 "C") which has the 9i-ish loft of 38.5* with a 70* lie angle (actually more upright than my putter). It not only works really well for chip and run type shots but is amazingly good for pitch shots with some green to work with (e.g., 40-yard carry plus 10-yard runout). My SW is a Glide 3.0 54*SS (12* bounce) which I had bent to 56* (14* bounce) and is very versatile for short to medium pitches, sand shots, ext. Finally, I carry the set PW and UW from my G710s. GolfSpy AFG
Guess I'm a bit of a Vokey hoe... All SM9s in Jet Black with Steelfiber shafts. The wedge setup for my old gamers, and now my back up set, was a set gap wedge, then the 54 S Grind and the 60 in either M or T Grind depending on conditions. Now that I'm gaming the Edels, it's 48 F Grind, 52 F Grind, 56 M Grind. Thisway84
I have been tweaking my wedge setup a bit this year... Previously, I had a stock Ping i3 PW 47*, Cleveland 52* and 58*. I loved using the 52* approach, but found I had a huge gap with the full 52* and 58*. In all reality, I am not one to hit a full out 58* anyways. So I added a 56* which helped some of this gapping, however the 56* and 58* are pretty darn close. I bought new Irons this summer. The i230 PW is 45*, when it is time to upgrade my wedges I think I will go with a 50*, 54*, and 58*. The Ping Gap Testing function recommended I go 52*, 56*, and 60* but I like the versatility of the 58* a bit more than the 60*.
