Rob Person
This is what one of the regulars at the GC has. It hooks to his cart bag, and he has a clip/loop to secure it from bouncing away. He puts 3-4 clubs in it so he doesn't waste time walking back to the cart for a different club. Northern Monkey
I use a Motocaddy 14 way bag with putter well. Think it’s awesome! Love the fact that everything has a place and you know where everything is. I don’t like bags with only 4 or 5 dividers as find the clubs group up, bang together and look untidy. We have one that is similar that my wife and I use when it’s CPO. After teeing off, if one is on the far side away from the cart I or she will use the Sunday bag for the second shot all the way to the green. I’ve actually gotten 7-8 clubs in one. As for 14 slot stand bags with a harness, Ping, TM, Callaway and Titliest all have them, but they don’t look all that amenable for arranging short clubs on the ball pocket side, which makes using on a ride cart awkward. That’s my #1 objection. Last week my wife and I played and it was CPO. We reserved RoboCarts but when we got to the course, one was malfunctioning so I said I’d carry. I had 13 clubs in my TM 7 slot with harness but carrying from green to next tee was exhausting even though I’ve been working a lot on conditioning the last few months (I’m not over weight). When I see others carry, they often get a lift from hole to hole when playing with someone with a cart. The harness is just nice for to/from range sessions and when I occasionally remove from the ride cart for shorter carries (I have a lower back condition). Maybe I’ll start looking at some smaller cart bags and forget the harness. Unfortunately when cpo, we both can’t use Sunday bags as one needs to attend to the cart. Maybe I’ll design a remotely piloted cart. All our cart paths are concrete so just need to stripe with a material that can be sensed/tracked and hand held remote controls. The cool thing is where the cart belt goes thru them is a sheath so to speak so it's not pinching pockets or anything and never gets in the way. There are tons of huge pockets and even a cooler pouch. The rainfly is awesome and actually fits the bag which is a nice feature for once. Josephbeiner
Just made the switch from a titleist 14 way hybrid bag, to a super small Mizuno brd2. I loved the 14 way but as I ALWAYS choose to walk/carry, I found it just too big and bulky, from one extreme to the other I would say knowing your preferences and what you want out of your bag is most important and how many club slots is just one more factor. Mez57
I've had all types of bags. Ogio, Callaway, Taylormade etc.. I've had many 14 way and 15 way bags, but I'm now a loyal 6 way bag fan now. The 14 way bags just don't seem to hold up. Eventually the dividers start to pull out or shred and the bags are too big. I play over 200 rounds a year and hauling around a big 14 way with all the extra junk that those big bags allow for is a pain. I now use a Ghost Golf 6 way and I'm very happy. Not too big and the clubs go in and out smoothly. I'm not going back to a 14 way anytime soon. My wife on the other hand loves the 14 way. This helps her not leave her clubs, but the bag is heavy with all her stuff only eclipsed by the weight of her handbag. I'm sure others have witnessed that sort of thing. Kevin W
I walk and carry my bag most of the time and like a 4 or 5 slot bag. Easier to just quickly drop my club in the bigger slot.
