One or two years playing LIV and he is all set! The paycheck plus any of the rumored gifts the Saudis are laying at their feet will set him for life and he won't have to report all his doings to insurance Vultures. Great move in my opinion!! The kid who destroyed my least favorite player in the Ryder Cup as an unknown and assistant pro at Highpointe where I played beer league Wednesday night will swat around a few dozen rounds in the low 70s and get on his way with pockets loaded up for another twenty year sabatical. Michael.Sandoval33
Really enjoyed this read, I have been seeing a lot about wanting to pump some "Juice" into golf. Not sure if it is needed now as much as it was in 2008-2010 when social media was still in infancy. But a really good comeback story is awesome in general. pbclub and William P 2 Quote WITB Driver: Qi10 Max 10.5° Hybrid: FX Max 25°, Tsi2 21° 4i-9i: FX Max 10 Wedges: SM10 - 50° 12f, 54° 14f, 58° 14k Putter: M.Craft Type VI Ball: Pro Air Bag: Ghost Golf Maverick 14-Way Glove: Nexgen Nano-X Pro Tour+
russtopherb
That guy must be getting paid by the word. Article could have been way shorter. Would it be awesome to see AK come back? Of course. He had so much promise and vanished so quickly, and therein lies the mystique. Would he play solid golf? Debatable. Rumour has it he's been playing in a lot of private big money games, and playing well. But that's not a pro tour (not that LIV is really one either). I think the novelty will wear off quickly if he doesn't score, but it'll be nice to see his swagger out on the course again. Alot of the top players in the world are suddenly not good anymore?? Not sure what you do for your day job but I would bet if I offered you guaranteed money equalling what you would do on a great year with every incentive hit that for your family you would take that guaranteed money every time man!! I certainly would and I get to wear shorts?? Its all over I'm gone!! Wheelieb
I can't agree that LIV isn't a Pro tour. I mean, the world number 1 left the PGA to go play in it. If you are just basing that off them not getting points, then that's a whole other debate. As for A.K., it would be interesting to see what he does if he in fact does comeback. I just don't know if he will have the success he did early on. fixyurdivot, GaDawg, jolter1 and 1 other 3 1 Quote Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Max 9* with Tensei AV Blue 55 Mizuno ST Max 3 wood PXG 7 wood with Mitsubishi Diamana Shafts Mizuno Pro 225 5-GW with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts Mizuno S23 54 and 58 degree wedges L.A.B. jolter1
Reading this wordy article I get the impression that the author was never a big fan of AK. To me I would be more enthusiastic in seeing AK try to make a comeback then another so called "comeback" by Tiger. With AK, one knows that at age 38 it will be difficult to even be competitive but hopefully he will show some form to warrant an attempt. Plus a 38 y/o AK would still be a draw for either the PGATour or LIV. fixyurdivot, Wheelieb, Guest-0 and 3 others 4 1 1 Quote Driver: Ping G430 SFT 10.5 at the Flat Setting Fairway Woods: Ping SFT G425 3-5 Hybrid Ping G410 4H Irons Ping G425 5-LW Putter: Ping Anser 2 Ball: Titleist Tour Speed/AVX Bag: Titleist All shafts are Ping's CB Alta, Regular in Woods and Hybrids, Stiff in the irons ( I just like these shafts and never saw a reason to look for others)

William P
Good article. Having followed golf during AK's rise, I found him to be a breath of fresh air to a sport that was becoming stagnant from an entertainment perspective. While the golf itself was always at its finest, for me personally, it had become boring to watch. He was aggressive in his play, confident almost to the point of arrogance in his abilities and possessed a youthful swagger and zest for life. It was a loss to the sport when he retired from tournament play. All that said, while AK may bring a short-lived mystique by returning to the game, it will be interesting to note if we get the Anthony Kim we remember or a different possibly more introverted version. I wish him well. Once those tinted glasses are removed, rational thinking and discussion can ensue. I mean just the title of this article is a tell. Headhammer
Didn't read the article, but I'm interested to see what AK does. He's been a legend amongst golf Bruhs and does stand a chance of elevating that status, or falling on face and damaging that reputation forever. Will be fun to watch either way. Just_the_Chip
After watching Tiger make the cut at the Masters, it made me think of Anthony Kim and his recent interview. Politics aside, if it's true that he hasn't touched a golf club in years up until about three months before his first LIV Outting, I'm actually really really impressed. Everyone was trashing his scores, and him landing dead last, but to me it's similar to Tiger. Tiger didn't golf professionally at all last year due to injury, and so if you look at their scores it's at least enough to raise an eyebrow towards AK. At 41 I've enjoyed watching Tiger and AK. Watching Tiger is tough sometimes though. I equate it to watching your old dog dragging his back legs around the house and you know it's any day now, that it's over. With Anthony Kim, it's like netflix special. Rising star, injury, severe addiction, and then sobriety. I want tiger to win one more major, but I would also love to see an AK win.
