Driver Shaft

I was out on the course yesterday and the shaft on my driver snapped inexplicably.  I made solid contact with the ball, and the head flew 35 yards in to the fairway.  The few drives before that sounded off, so I'm assuming there was a crack forming. 

 

I play a PING G25 with a S Flex shaft. I was fitted for it at a place in NH last year.  I've contacted PING to find out about a warranty, but if they don't cover it; can anyone recommend a good aftermarket shaft or a place or a fitting in New England (I'm in sales, so it can really be anywhere in the region)?

As far as "recommending a good shaft", there are tons of "good" shafts. No one can recommend one to you not knowing the first thing about your swing though. What's great for me could be just the opposite for you. Getting fit is your best bet. FWIW, I play a Diamana D+ 62ct. It is fantastic....for me. Doesn't mean it would be good for you though. Gotta see what works and doesn't work.

Thanks for the info.  Has anyone ever gone to "Ace of Clubs" near Boston for a fitting?

Ping will cover it. And Frank is excellent

Thanks Rookie.  I've contacted both PING and Frank.  If PING covers the shaft, I think I'm still going to go to Frank for a wedge/putter fitting.  His website and tesimonials look pretty legit.

Update: PING agreed to ship a new shaft to the retailer free of charge.  I don't carry a fairway wood, so going to be hybrid off the tee all weekend..
