  1. Anyone else not seeing who’s playing the Genesis in the app? I don’t see any of the check marks anywhere. My roster, other rosters, the players page all blank as far as check marks are concerned. I haven’t pulled out the computer yet, but didn’t know if it was a “me” problem or a “them” problem.

The stores offer to order wedges if made LH but I like to touch/feel B4 purchase. I can order from a number of internet sources for usually less cost.

I'm pretty lucky the Golf Galaxy in Fort Myers has a pretty good selection of lefty stuff.  I just picked up a 52 and 56 Cleveland RTX4 on sale for a little over just one of them would cost at normal price (I had a few rewards to work with, as well as them being on sale.)  They had a bunch of Callaway, TA, Vokey and Clevelands to choose from.  I don't know if there's one close to you or not.

    Ugh..

I feel for you man.  I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon about 10 years ago. Surgeon said it looked like 2 horsetails.  I was on a cast/boot for months.  As of today, I have no mobility issues, but my calves are totally different sizes and shapes.  It felt like forever to get back to walking, but you will get there.

    Do your PT.

Follow the surgeons instructions to the letter.

Get a knee scooter. (life saver)

find an extra comfortable chair to sleep in for a while.

Pick up some new games for the Playstation....

Good luck man.  That injury sux.

My sister could have written this about her experience (except she's not into Playstation).   PT, following instructions, scooter, comfy chair and a lot of patience is what worked for her.   I know from her experience that there's no quick way back, but there are ways to slow it down considerably.  Good luck, juspoole.  I hope you can get to the other side of it.

  4. Well it’s winter so I’m not going to have one closer than this for a while! This was during one of my final rounds of the year up at Point Sebago in Maine.
the crown bottle was not mine. And I cannot confirm how much was in the bottle at the start of the round, but this was on our second 18 for the day:

the ball landed short, skipped past, and came back down the slope back in front of the hole.  Never been closer than that!

How do you like Point Sebago. I’ve been by on my way to Bridgton and Fryeburg, but have never played it. It always looked nice from what I’ve seen.

  5. Just read this entire thread... interesting in an odd way.  Nothing to add but can you imagine stepping up to a putt and knowing the difference between a miss and a make is a 6 or 7 figure check .

I wonder how much that even crosses their minds. I was thinking they’re all probably so competitive it’s more about winning, or beating the competition. I’m sure they care about the money, but I just wonder if it’s the bragging rights in their minds standing over those putts.

I used to play with a friend in Maine who always wanted to play for dimes. We talked several times about whether it’s 10 cents or 10 bucks, it’s making the other guy reach into his pocket that matters.

  6. Played with my father and my buddy that I usually play with.  Front nine was horrific.  I thought I'd try the Wilson Duos since I'd had good luck with them in the past.  Nope.  Couldn't drive, couldn't hit an iron, wedges were so-so and putting was eh.  A lot of it has to do with the fact that my father doesn't play much and is sooooo slooooow.  I always feel like we've got the entire course backed up, which makes me hurry everything.  He's 78, and I want to take advantage of every single opportunity to do things like this with him, but it completely screws up my already iffy game.

Went back to the Maxfli Tour on the back nine, and was  better.  Most of it still wasn't great, but I did have the best 3 hole stretch I've had in a long, long time.

#15 is a par 5 playing about 475.  Drive about 265 into the middle of the fairway.  210 yard 3-wood onto the green.  Rolled a 25 foot eagle putt about 3 inches short, perfectly on line.  Tap in birdie.

#16 is a par 4 playing about 360.  Drive about 255 in the middle, leaving around 105.  Hit a solid 56* wedge and watched it bounce over the back, which surprised the heck out of me.  Drove around to the back and didn't see it anywhere.  Asked my buddy on the green to check the cup.  "You little rascal" was the exact quote.  So, one hop and in from 105 for eagle.  Can't remember the last time I carded an eagle.

#17 is a par 3 playing around 150.  Easy 8 iron to about 8 feet and managed to roll the putt for birdie.

All of that makes the number that I carded for the back even more disgusting.

Played in  a little scramble yesterday and we were short right about 30 yards on a par five. After everyone else misfired I took my little Wilson birdie grabber and punched the ball up to a foot of the hole. Booyah! 💣

I'm glad you bumped this thread.  I was just wondering the other day what happened to you and the "pocket picker."  Now I know it got replaced and I don't have to wonder any more.

However, I do have to wonder if I should put my Mitsushiba chipper in the bag and try it out of the sand...

  8. Congratulations, everyone.  This will definitely be your year.  I'm joining this thread, which means at the end of the season I'll be the only one without an ace, since that's how things always seem to work for me.  I will require partial credit for your aces, however.

I've been inside 3 feet a couple of times, but not in the last couple of years and never really thought any of those close calls really had a chance.

I do like the "winner is the closest to the hole without an ace" angle presented by @GolfSpy MPR.

  9. “Home” in the app will show you the real scores too. Just scroll down to find out. If you tap into them, it’ll bounce you back to live scoring where you can see how your individual guys are doing but the totals aren’t right. 36F35FA4-58A9-4534-9708-29BC0902D2FB.png.3f53f6f976ae1f9cc7b8d4c82d30d8fb.png

I hadn’t scrolled that far down the page. That must be the “home page matchups” Berg was referring to. I thought it meant the scoring home (or first) page.

    Thanks.

  10. Try going to the standings page and click on results. Then use the arrow to show your team. It will give you all 10 of your matchups for every week listed by week to see where you stand.

Excellent. Thanks for the help. Worked just the way it should.

  11. As a friendly note because this is gonna come up, a note on players withdrawing from an event in play. That player's point total reverts to 0, so you lose all accumulated stats for that player. Luckily for most of you with Wolff in play, that's not a bad thing.
Also, since this has been brought up in the Slack and I know some of you aren't on that, I'll post in the thread.
The question of how will I know who my top four players are and how many points I have is one that it tricky with the best ball format, here's how to know.
    Use the home page matchups!
The home page matchups show where you stand with your four best players at any given time, it also shows live tracking of the league median score as well. If you click on live scoring and look at matchups that, it shows all current players playing, meaning your total is going to be higher. For example, ZJBogey had the highest score after rd1 with 80.05 points. However, if you click his live score it shows he has 116. The scores on the home page are the ones you need to use to understand where you are. However, finish bonuses won't be live until the tournament ends.

I must not be looking in the right place (or is it different on the phone app?) because what I would think was the home page matchups show me the total from all 6 I had playing.

The score from my top 4 is around 85, but I’m seeing 105. Does anyone know if there is a way to have the app only show the top 4 combined?

  12. Perhaps a better way to phrase things is that "all that matters is what happens at impact". There are lots of ways to deliver a club, some more efficient than others, however as long as the ball's being hit in a way where the face and club path match up to give the desired flight, then it's a good swing.

I saw a spot on television a looong time ago where an instructor was making this very point. He kept hitting balls with the ugliest swings he could invent, but would square the club face and path up at impact. Really nice shots no matter what the swing looked like.

I wish I could remember who it was.

  13. Wow, does that thing look great!  You said something in a previous post about boring people, but you sure don't have to worry about that.  Keep the updates coming...with lots and lots of pictures.  I'm so jealous that everything I see has a green tint.   (Could be the color-blindness, but I'm going to attribute it to jealousy.)
