The initial shipping is free.  So, you are saying that if exchanging for a different size, we pay for the return and the shipping for another size?

I'm not sure it was when I purchased last year....maybe it was.   I have a hard enough time remembering where my drive went, much less what happened a year ago...lol.

I just remember not liking the fit and returning them at a loss....which bites since, at that time anyway, they weren't available in retail stores to try on.  But, at least they didn't hit me with a restocking fee like some companies are known to do.

The guarantee indicates that you can wear them on the course, but their return policy would seem to indicate that if you do, you can't return them.  BTW, you pay for return shipping

It will cost you shipping both ways to try and return. At least that was my experience last year

Ok, I figured the game out… just need a 1.5 hour frost delay, and then add a cold 30 mph wind and I shoot a 2 over-

    simple as that

You could have played in our group today, then ... add in some wet, sloppy fairways and you're golden!

Played a Shamble today (5 drives max per player) in sloppy wet conditions and cold with 20+ mph wind ...  I managed to come in with an 82.  My partners shot 84, 97 (female partner), and 98.  Only 5 brave teams showed up to play (several canceled because of cold and wet conditions) with one team having only 3 players. My team finished at -8 for 3rd place (of course, they only paid 2 places!)

How many of you believe that the cost of your fitting should go towards the purchase if you make one?

For example - I go in have an iron fit or driver and the cost is $100. We spend the hour going through everything, find a driver or club that is suitable, but I am not ready to make the purchase so I walk out without making the purchase. The cost is $100.

However in situation 2 I go through the fitting, am thrilled and place an order for whatever I was fit into. In this case I am not charged an additional amount for the product, but the fitting is in essence free as I have spend $600 for a driver or $800 plus for a new set of irons.

Do you think this is fair? I guess this kinda goes back to the should fittings be free which was a bit controversial.

If you're talking about custom fitting services, such as Club Champion or similar, where they rebuild the clubs and install specialized components at inflated prices, then yes the price of the fitting should be waived or significantly reduced with a purchase.  However, if you're talking about a retail golf store, be it Big Box or your local shop, where you'll be ordering a club from the manufacturer that meets your specs, then no.  The profit margin for golf clubs is relatively narrow and negating the price of time spent for a fitting would only erode that profit deeper.  Anything beyond a simple fitting for length and lie or a few minutes spent on a monitor should be charged to the customer.

Yes, speed control was my finding as well, especially on longer putts.  But MAN does that thing roll on the line!!!  Hope it gets better and better for you and your game.  Mine is in the mix for the starting lineup when I get back onto the course regularly.  I really think it lives up to all the hype.

Today was better than yesterday with regards to speed control.  One thing that I've noticed is that it requires a longer backstroke with the L.A.B than it did with my Odyssey to achieve the same rollout on the same greens.  But, it rolls true and it's an adjustment that will come with use.

Nice Carl!  Looking forward to hearing your thoughts after you have had a chance to put it into action.

I've had it out for 2 rounds now and it's one nice putter!  I'm still adjusting to get the speed down better, but the ball starts on the line I've chosen almost automatically.  Only time I've hit what I'd term a bad putt had nothing to do with the putter and everything to do with me!  Both days that I've played with it brought comments from how well I was putting from my playing partners. Obviously, I don't make every putt I try to make, but it seems that I'm making more in the 10-15 foot range than normal.  As long as I maintain a light grip and just let the putter work, putts start on the chosen line without fail.  When I don't make a putt, I'm close enough for a tap in.  Needless to say, I'm very happy with the putter.

  7. My driver cover, which spends more time in the cart basket than on the driver, is a white MGS cover.  My 2 FW and my hybrid are the stock covers .... but have been looking at after market covers the last 2 days.  My putter cover on my Odyssey is also a white MGS mallet cover, but on my newer L.A.B. putter, it's the stock cover (and likely will remain so, given the unique size of this putter!).

  8. Well, the ice storm is behind us (for now) and some better weather is forecast.  Today should be in the upper 40s and sunny.  The course is still saturated, so a red flag is out.  I'll be teeing off at 11 am (shotgun start) with temperature about 42ish.  Their calling for temps to reach 70 next week before the next cold front moves through the area and brings winter (well, mid-south winter) back.

  9. Yesterday, I took my new putter to the practice green for about 15 minutes to work on distance control.  I didn't care much about line but rather getting the ball to within tap in range.  Afterwards, my wife and I were going to play about 3 holes (she's a newbie) but after our drives, she said it was too cold and didn't want to continue.

  10. A difficult question to answer within context as every course may utilize a different color scheme and may have more or fewer tee boxes than the next course.  Having said that, at my previous club, I had moved from the Gold (so called Mens regular) tees to the Blue (aka Senior) tees.  We still had 2 sets of tees shorter than the blue and 1 set behind the Gold tees.  At my current course, I'm playing the whites (designated 4) and have 3 sets (silver 3, red 2, and green 1) forward of me and 2 J(blue 5 and black 6) behind me.  I'm playing 4 with thoughts of moving to 3.  Problem is that while 4 is a tad long, 3 is significantly shorter and sadly we have not developed a proper combination set of tees (yet?).

But yes, I agree with you that players should move to the appropriate tee boxes for their age/ability.  Playing a course at a length that makes it unlikely to reach GIR is not fun.
