Picked up a dozen each of:
Z-Star diamond
Tour BX

They’ll all go head to head to see which ball will be my gamer. Also in the mix:
ProV1x (last years gamer)
Mtb-x (2020 ball and my winter/off-season ball)

I’m not surprised that the i59 did well: Ping makes good stuff, period. I’m amused by the complaints about price, as I know I’m not the only club ho ‘round these parts. On a forum this hard-core, with the level of knowledge on display in most posts/threads, how many of us are playing “stock” or “no up charge” shafts? Those of us playing semi exotic shafts are more insulated against sticker shock. I wouldn’t expect some rando off the street to pick i59’s over less expensive, quality sets from Titleist, Calloway or TM. But for a ball striker looking for spin control, or front to back dispersion, in a non shiny, sexy as hell players shape? The i59 might be for you: But, as with everything else, the consumer will dictate the market. Personally, I couldn’t be happier with my i59’s; I’m a club ho and a total golf fanatic! Price was not a consideration for me, and I appreciate anyones situation that makes price a priority, but who among us wouldn’t buy them if they clearly out-performed other OEM’s cheaper offerings for you?

Good stuff @edingc! I’ve been using the rct ball all winter at an indoor studio using trackman, but I just stumbled on this thread. My take is that the trackman accurately captures spin about 95% with the rct ball. Like you, I find that at my 2 iron ball speed and up the accuracy declines, and I’ll start to see italicized spin numbers. As far as durability; both myself and my buddy that I split the membership with both have new irons( i59’s for me and p790/770 for him) so we split the first ball after about 2 weeks, and used a new ball every 3-5 sessions( each session was 2-3 hrs) My opinion? Worth it for anyone using a Doppler-based(radar) launch monitor.

What head do you play @Tincup_19? Hzrdus smoke yellow TX was a horrible shaft for me in my Ping G410 LST, but the blue RDX TX was far and away the best shaft for me in the cobra LTDx LS.

Driver shaft - handcrafted Hzrdus smoke blue RDX 6.5
3 wood - Fujikura speeder evolution 7 tx
2 iron - Hzrdus smoke black 6.0 80 gram
irons - PX LS 6.0
Wedges (vokey) and putter (Mizuno m-craft) are off the rack.

Definitely interested, the Zstar was a little too soft, and I hated the XV around the green. So I’ll add the diamond to the list of contenders:
Tour BX
Chromesoft XLS
-Prov1x
Mtb-X

So excited about the Broncos: the way we draft I don’t mind giving up picks for a serviceable QB. We won a championship with a shell of Peyton Manning, excited to see what we can do with a QB with more tread left on the tire.

Worked on the main points of my lesson this week tonight at the studio. This off-season has been an obsessive quest to hit nothing but draws: my theory being that if I play a cut/fade when I play, but practice drawing every club, my game swing will naturally become more neutral.
set up: trying to keep my weight more centered: my tendency is to pre load my right side. My stance has gotten slightly narrow, so I worked on keeping my ankles under my shoulders.
swing: as i’ve worked on my takeaway and eliminating early wrist cock, shallowing my downswing had some unintended consequences: mainly a lateral hip sway away from my target. So I worked on the feeling of keeping my weight on the instep of my back foot, feeling like I’m screwing my leg into the ground.
Saw a jump in ballspeed and carry: back to what I used to see when I was playing my AP3’s.

Rogue max LS was a close runner up in my fitting: blew my gamer out of the water. Love the matte finish, and how it sits at address.

Cobra LTDx LS with the limited edition Hzrdus RDX blue 60 gram x stiff was the winner of my fitting today! Close 2nd was the Callaway max LS. Didn’t think anything was gonna beat my g410 LST/ Tensei white set up, but almost every new driver did . There’s bomber set up for every club ho on the forum this year I think…

I happened to tune in today as Sam Ryder addressed the ball on 16…. Pure magic. The comments about how over-served the crowd was while pelting the green with beer bottles and cups after witnessing the 1st ace there in 7 years? Also gold.

Was at my golf studio the other night, and some guys in the next bay over had an assortment of golf stuff: what caught my eye was a swing weight scale. I could’ve sworn my driver setup (Ping G410 LST/Tensei white tx 60 gram) was D6; ended up being E7. I didn’t even realize the scale went past D. Question is, how heavy is too heavy? I’ve read before that D5 is the “ideal” swing weight for most golfers, but I’ve never felt like my driver swing weight was holding me back. Thoughts?
