GolfSpy Barbajo
Know a guy who swears by these things, so I bought one on a lark just to see what the fuss is about.... Undershooter
I know there are alot of guys on tour who play grips that are either built up with tape or are midsized to start. PlaidJacket
I've never considered a large or jumbo type grip on my irons. I like the red-white-blue colors though. The one in the photo appears to be close to the size of my SS putter grip. My hands are not large... more a mid-size perhaps or even average. I'm curious what club you select for a trial and how it works for you. Perhaps you can try a driver also? I couldn't square the face up however I was playing a weak shaft too. I'm thinking it was more shaft than grip because when I bumped up the stiffness, the pushes went away . Kenny B
I can understand the better accuracy but not more clubhead speed. Put your club in the palm like he says and take it to the top of your backswing and stop. Then while still at the top of your backswing, reposition the club into your fingers of your lead hand. You will notice that you have more leverage angle when the club is in the fingers, and that leads to more clubhead speed. I went to large grips many years ago. I gained accuracy but lost distance. I settled on midsize for feel. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
fozcycle
I think KennyB is correct. You might gain accuracy but lose distance. For me, my hands are very small so I even struggle with midsize grips. I have a midsize on my Powerbilt driver and have to set the face open at address. alfriday101
I used the large Jumbomax grips for about a year. The company makes grips in four sizes, albeit, the small Jumbomax grip is larger than a jumbo Golfpride grip. I still have them on a couple of practice clubs. I have been thinking about going back to the Jumbomax grips on all clubs. I did not lose any distance with the grips. I was able to hold the club with little tension in my arms, which allows for a fluid, smooth swing. I also did not suddenly start hitting the ball with a giant fade. I was certainly more accurate with the Jumbomax grips than a standard size grip. I changed to the jumbo Golfpride grip because I could get it locally and it is a bit more tacky. But, my finger joints sometimes hurt after a round, so I am thinking of going back to the Jumbomax grips.

Undershooter
Btw there is almost no way that having the thicker grip will increase swing speed. Accuracy is a maybe but no chance for swing speed. This was actually a common rule in baseball. You didn't want to build up your grips too much because the greater diameter would limit swing speed. This is part of the reason you started seeing pros with such thin handled bats. McGolf
The new design that Barbajo put on is far superior to the original model. The initial idea behind the grips was the sized allowed the grip to lower and allow for great hand action/ movement. whatever your belief. The grip is heavier than a regular grip for sure. However the weight of the club moves to the hands and you can track the club that way. They have a sm grip that Jumbo users will certainly like. bo2beaux
I have been using them for a few years on all my clubs and they are great. I do have bigger hands so I don't have to grip as hard. I just had to replace my 1st gen grip on my driver because I wore it out. I don't know about distance or accuracy as I'm a weekend warrior and struggle with both on a regular basis. (I'm 61) If you are in doubt, just try one to start with. I would suggest small and go from there as far as the sizes go, unless you have really big hands. tktmsa
If you have found that using a fat grip on your putter works for you to keep your hands quiet, try a jumbomax on your SW/LW or whatever club rarely has a full swing.
