fixyurdivot
Just received an email this morning for this special discount offer... crazy good price!! Unfortunately they are only offering the Prime X (Prime would be a better match for me) but if the X fits your swing/ball speed and you haven't tried Dean Snell's offering before, it's a perfect time to do so. Peejer
My biggest problem is that Snell tried to fix something that wasn't broke - and he broke it. The MTB series was fantastic and rivaled the top golf balls. Then they redesigned them and now, according MGS Golf Ball Test, are some of the lowest performing balls and durability. I understand that Snell lost their previous ball manufacturer, but consumers don't care. If it doesn't perform, we won't buy it. Now it seems like there's a fire sale to dump old stock. With OnCore, Vice and Maxfli's outperforming Snell, sorry Dean. I've moved on. But, if you can get back to what you had...I'll be back in a heartbeat. I loved the prior generation of Snell golf balls. fixyurdivot 1 Quote Stealth Driver ZX 3W RadSpeed 3-hybrid P790 (2021) irons (4-PW) CBX-2 GW, SW & LW Phantom 7 putter Q-Star Tour DIVIDE / Tour - Revolver XL 1500Li Cart NX9 HD Pro Rangefinder / S20 GPS Watch + Launch Monitor Denver, Colorado Home Course: Eisenhower Golf Club, USAF Academy

bekgolf
I picked up 5 dozen MTB Prime balls during the SB sale for $19.99 per dozen. I hope they are like the MBT Black was. If it's just a matter of cover durability it won't matter as my home course is a ball eater and I'm used to losing one or two during a round. At $20 per dozen I don't think I'm taking a huge risk on these. Cover durability has been the only negative I've heard of with Prime. I'll probably pick up a test pack of the new balls when they become available. Quote Tour Edge Exotics Cleveland Odyssey

Golf2Much
Overall, I liked the Snell MTB Prime ball. I got the same or slightly longer drives versus the OnCore Vero X1 and it proved to be great around the greens for me. It was in play when I broke 80 for one of three times last year. The only knock I have on it was the three dozen I got were from what they refer to is Batch #1. I guess they had some manufacturing process issues that lead to a less than stellar cover durability issues. Snell reported that process improvements have been made and the cover sheering problems rectified. Here's a MTB Prime ball after two or three rounds: Yes, it may have had an encounter with a cart path, but the lower scuffs were likely from my 70 mph iron swing speed! My other go to balls (OnCore Vero x1 and Elixr, Maxfli Tour S and Srixon QStar Tour) do not exhibit that level of damage after twice that many rounds. I hope their process changes yielded improvement in their cover durability because I really liked this ball. Once I'm through my stash of Maxfli Tour S balls, the remaining two dozen will go into my bag. I'm curious to see how the 2024 models fair when they are released. bekgolf
I tried a new Snell MTB Prime a few days ago. The weather was crappy and low 40's so this isn't the best of conditions for testing but it worked fine. The cover took abuse from trees and my golf clubs, it went as far as anything else I use and was a cut above the Bridgestone B RX I was also testing. I'm glad I picked up 5 dozen during the superbowl sale @ $20 per dozen. I'm saving the rest for nice weather.
