Work and life in general (time) for me. If I had my way I’d be out every day for a few hours practice plus a round of 18.
Unfortunately I’m not a multi millionaire with a butler, personal chef, housekeeper and gardener on tap so until then I’ll have to make do 🤣

Being lazy definitely.  Also having to drive just to go hit a small bucket of balls. Last year I made it so I can putt at home and that helped my game a lot. The goal for this year is to be able to hit in the backyard and hope it improves the rest of my game

If I have something scheduled I make it work.  Lesson or going to do most wanted testing (but that really isn't practice).   During the week after getting off work I just don't have the motivation to drive to the course.  I need to setup things at home to practice.   I practice putting because I can do that in my living room;  just setup a station and/or use my ExPutt.

For me it is primarily due to putting my family first. My wife and daughter are my top priority. The fun part is that my wife is learning to golf and toddler is starting to try putting on the carpet. I plan on bringing them both with me this summer!

I built a putting green in the basement to practice last summer and was able to hit a range once a week. I was thrilled with just that amount of practice. Growing up I lived at the range. It’s incredible how access and cost get in the way of that. The thing I want to do a better job of this summer is chipping around the green and bunker play… unfortunately I haven’t found a nice practice facility for that yet. The one closest to my house is full of clover and hard pan bunkers with garbage drainage. It resembles nothing close to what’s actually on the course which is well maintained.

Facilities! That’s the #1 reason. We only have two legit ranges in Cheyenne, two others that are small, and until this past winter only 2 indoor ranges. Now that Aces has opened in town I plan on doing a lot of indoor range work. That and I am planning on buying a launch monitor. Thinking the Garmin, I’m more concerned about the AOA and those type of measurements rather than distance and I don’t want to break the bank.

Laziness! That’s the #2 reason. I have no excuses for that.IMG_4256.jpeg.f9030cccb11e6907e6b6165f51312690.jpeg

Just having the time right now is my hurdle.  But I'm working on a putting green in the backyard, and I have a net to work on my driving skills while at home so that should help me practice more.

Newbie!  Trying to learn all things golf!

My biggest hurdle is myself. I have a mat and net in my garage so I can hit balls whenever I want. But 12-13 hour works days and kids does make for a tired body when I get home.

I bought a GoSports Pro Golf Practice Bundle from Costco in fall 2022 for the backyard.
That got me out to swing regularly.
Then I picked up a SwingCaddie SC4 in October 2023.  I go out most days to play the sim.
Best of both worlds, I get practice and some exercise. Meanwhile my wife can keep a watchful eye to make sure I'm staying out of trouble.

The downside is my chip/pitching practice isn't keeping pace after I launched a couple pitches over the net.

Ditto here regarding facilities! Unless you are a member at a pricey and inconvenient private golf club, practice facilities are almost completely nonexistent in this area (Southeastern PA/Philadelphia suburbs and nearby NJ). What few practice facilities do exist in the area consist of badly worn-out mats on top of concrete pads. The only public golf course that has a decent practice facility has also gone from natural grass hitting areas to mats and raised the prices by almost 100% -- and waiting times at that range can easily exceed an hour.  I use their practice bunkers and chipping green frequently in good weather and also practice on their putting green semi-frequently. However, despite the fact that I have a range card for that facility, I rarely use the range for two reasons: 1.) the excessive wait times, and 2.) the fact that hitting off of mats on concrete is not only bad for my arthritic hands, wrists and elbows plus my twice surgically-repaired left shoulder, it is also not very good for golf clubs.  My trips to use that practice facility have decreased from 3 or 4 times a week when they had natural grass hitting areas to once a week or less now that they have installed mats on concrete and jacked-up the prices.  They know that they are the only semi-decent option within 45-50 miles and have priced their use accordingly in spite of the horrible mats!

Wife not allowing me to be a “stay at home dad” aka trophy husband. Selfish of her I know. Of course then I wouldn’t be able to afford golf..

My 2 & 1/2 year old son, he just got a real pitching wedge and loves it. Hopefully that’ll mean I can trick him into practicing in the back yard with me on the sim. Then soon enough we can play together!

I have a cobra rad speed driver, cobra fly z 3 and 5 wood, taylormade m1 irons (5-PW), Top Flite Gamer wedges (52,56,60), and odyssey white ice putter. When I’m playing to keep score I typically play the Maxfli Tour X. When just getting a round in with friends or scrambling I play whatever I might find on the course or might find at the bottom of my bag.

The use of a net and LM at home, in combination with a putting mat has taken away a lot of my available excuses. Now I worry that I might be practicing too much. Because my obsession drives me to hit balls everyday, my body rarely gets a day off. At 45, I’m learning that I need those days off to allow for recovery. On the plus side though, my HI has never been lower. 😁

Definitely having 2 kids 6,3. I took them one time to the driving range and they wanted to leave after 10 minutes. I tried to involve them but they were not intrested. 😔

I have a mix of Titleist and Ping irons. A Ping putter and Taylormade driver.
