As some of you have probably seen, I have talked about my time working for Oakley and have developed a decent collection. Sunglasses are a key piece of equipment in my opinion and something we all see the pros wear. Technology advances and plays a role in helping us see the ball better or even read greens better. They are also a way for us to express ourselves and our style. I’ve definitely changed up a pair to go with a certain golf outfit. I figured I’d post here what I have and what my favorites are. Hopefully other’s can chime in with some of their favorite brands and styles for the course and for off the course! Overall collection: Sports/performance: Flak 2.0 XL deep water (blue) prizm polarized Flak 2.0 XL Prizm golf & Prizm daily polarized Flak Jacket (original) G30 iridium (old golf lens) & Ice Iridium polarized M2 Black Iridium Polarized & clear Lifestyle plastic frames: Frogskin 2016 Rio Olympics edition w/ Prizm daily polarized Custom painted Frogskins with the flying tigers WWII design on the ear stems Twoface navy blue with chrome polarized x2 Sean White edition garage rocks Larch squared brown tortoise with black iridium polarized. Lifestyle wire frames: Ferrari edition carbon blades (fun fact for car nuts the red paint on these are the same paint on the F1 cars) Tinfoil Carbons Tailpin aviators Holbrook Metal I think my Top 3 out of these are: Flak 2.0 XL: I wear these 99% of the time golfing. Latch Squared: classic everyday style. Twoface Navy: a discontinued frame color but one of my favorites. Let’s see everyone else’s styles and favorites for when they are out on the course or just chillin by the pool! As a former baseball player...Oakley was ALWAYS my go-to and still is for golf. Like others have said, your collection puts mine to shame. GolfSpy_APH
My eyes really don't do well with overly bright lights. I get headaches and really sore/tired when I am in bright lights (especially inside for long periods of time). Therefore I use sunglasses a lot! As for what I use... I use a lot of cheap sunglasses as I do have a tendency to forget, lose or break them. I used to get Oakley or other higher priced sunglasses, but after several breaks etc I have migrated to cheaper options which have still functioned well. injectedcutty
I have a pair of polarized Ray Bans but I only wear those if I know I'm not gonna bust them up. I drive/deliver food for Sysco so I usually just keep cheap shaded safety glasses with me. The ones I like most are called Nemesis by Jackson Safety, they're lightweight, durable, and wrap the eyes well. Like @GolfSpy_APHmy eyes are sensitive to the sun, or even dreary gray sky days so i try to keep sunglasses with me at all times. For golf i have a couple pair of Tifosi's, one being their golf specific models which really do help. Looking forward to the Sundog test to try those out as well. JAXON DE VILLAIN
Just got the Ray Ban Meta glasses - they have a camera in the frame that takes still and video pictures. Took them to the Sandals St Lucia Golf Course at Cap Estate - below is one of the pictures I took, so you can see the quality of the camera. Extra benefit is that they have speakers in the frame near your ears - so if you listen to music on the course, only you can hear it. taylorjonasher
I have a love/hate relationship with my sunglasses on the course. It bothers me to take them on and off, as I have a hard time adjusting to the differing light levels and contrast. My depth perception over the ball isn't really altered, but it just feels off, especially with the driver. Plus, I swear that my Oakley Holbrooks have some sort of melanin absorbing technology built into the frames, because if I wear them for more than 10 minutes I get the deepest white raccoon ninja mask set into my face for the rest of the season. I typically only wear them when I'm hitting directly into the sun and then take them off. Off the course, I wear them anytime I am driving - I see so much clearer with them. I am rocking the same pair of Holbrook frames with black iridium polarized that I've had for the last 7 or 8 years, but I am thinking about flipping to the ruby prizm polarized. I'll replace the lenses about every two years. I got turned on to Oakley when I was in the Marine Corps - I really enjoy the steep discount over retail. Mike10487
I was a Nike guy for years but switched about 5 years ago to Wiley X Slade and Censor. I am very light sensitive and need a cocoon like lenses. they double as safety glasses as well. The Wiley X polarization is good, but I order aftermarket lenses with exceptional polarization for fishing and golf. I believe this helps reading even the smallest contours on the greens. PapaGoose8
I’m an Oakley guy all the way. Like the OP I have too many pairs haha.. I still love my OG flak jacket XLJ, they are my daily driver 99% of the time. I also have flak 2.0, Holbrook, frog skin, and an awesome set of split shot that I use exclusively on the water when fishing. One thing I will say is for those of you that go through lenses frequently, like I do with tiny humans getting their hands on my glasses, FUSE lenses are worth the investment. I started using them when I could no longer find the G30 Oakley lenses for my flak jackets. Both the prizm and pro versions are really nice and the customer service is outstanding!
