good deal .... I'm getting out for a round this afternoon at least.

Me and @frazzman80 might have to consult the tournament directors if weather prevents us from safely playing next week

@tchat07 Let's roll in Flight III!  I should be playing twice next week so I can cherry pick the best round.

The Texas twins @Rico_de_Gallo @frazzman80 look like they are going to be facing some unseasonably wet weather next week, while my courses are finally drying out and should be playing shorter.

@Northern Monkey I used the subject of your Forum image as part of an intellectual property class I taught a couple of years ago.  Cool picture. It made some of the drier aspects of copyright law more interesting when Naruto was on the screen in the background staring at everyone in the class.

For the purposes of the tournament, it needs to be 18. We will accept 2 9 hole rounds, if they are front and back of the same course played separately

I figured today would be the best day weather wise and chose a course that was close to the house (where it never rains) and I got super lucky and go figure, didn’t get a drop.

I did drop in a few birdie putts today though. Not sure if this is the place to post cards (if not, let me know and I’ll post appropriately), but I figured I’d give y’all something to shoot for!

Yeah. 9 is a beast of a hole, especially into a 15-20 MPH wind. It’s a par 5 on days like today. But yeah, I tried to get cutesy with a high chip shot and duffed it…then 3 putted on top of it. It was my only really bad hole. 4 strokes from within 30 yards…sadness.

For those playing in the Mid-Season VCT tournament, here's a couple of updates regarding scoring:

  • We are using the VCT indexes through week 12 to calculate the course handicaps.   @GolfSpy_BEN updated them prior to the start of competition.  The VCT indexes, course rating, slope and course par will yield your course handicap for that round.  As a result, don't be surprised if your tournament course handicap may be different than your GHIN or other generated course handicap.  In my case, my GHIN home course handicap is a 10 while my VCT course handicap is a 9.  I think the VCT uses the average of your last three scores while GHIN averages the best eight scores of your last 20 rounds.   Not everyone has an official GHIN index, so submitted VCT scores seemed the best way to handicap the field.
  • I mentioned tie breakers in the past.  Given the format and the number of players, it's likely that in team net best ball score competitions at least one match will end in a tie.  Having done scoring on the previous four MGS online tournaments, I'm guessing the 12 overall matches in this one, the over/under for the number of ties is 1.5.   In this format, the common tie breaker of matching cards doesn't work as everyone is playing a different course with different handicapped holes.  So, the tournament committee decided the following hierarchy of tie breakers:  first the number of team best ball net birdies, second the number of team best ball net eagles and last option a coin flip.  Let's hope that it doesn't come down to a coin flip!
  • When you post your scores and your scorecard, if you can include the listing of the courses hole by hole handicap I'd appreciate it.  I need that information to apply each of your handicap strokes to the correct holes.  It will save me having to look up the course's scorecard online.

So far, over a third of the tournament players have submitted a score.  I appreciate it, thanks!  Having to input 34 scores at the 11th hour can be a little nerve racking.  So, spreading it out makes scoring less chaotic.  If you submit an additional score to the weekly VCT tournament, I'll assume you'll want the lowest overall score to count unless you mention it in the post.  I'm more than happy to replace your initial submission with a new posted score if you wish.

Here's hoping for good enough weather so we can get week 1 in the books by Monday AM and set the teams for four great matches in week 2!  There are some great rounds posted already and certainly more to come.  Best of luck to all!

Ping G430 Max driver 10.5 degrees with an Alta Quick45 gram senior shaft

No problem @Northern Monkey.  I found your course and got the stroke indexes already.  The internet is a wonderful thing!  You are all set.

@Golf2Much Couple follow up questions

1. Just curious, are the VTC indexes posted anywhere or just kept internal?

2. Do you want just a photo of the scorecard with the hole handicaps included? or do you want a table of the stuff to make it easier to copy/paste for you

Thank for all you guys do on this.

I'm not aware if the VCT indexes are posted anywhere.  @GolfSpy_BEN is in charge of that.

The easiest way to post is just attaching a photo of your scorecard.  You don't need anything more than that.  The goal is to make it as simple as possible for you.  The scorecard has all the relevant information and your VCT submission will have the rating and slope so I know which tees you played from.  Just snap a picture of the filled in scorecard and that should be fine!
