Rapsodo MLM2Pro - 2024 Forum Review

Tried to play around a bit with the Rapsodo this afternoon at home after my round this morning.  Not sure what was happening, but the Rapsodo and I were not getting along.

Started on wi-fi and it was super slow (was outside away from the router so that may have contributed).  Swapped over to the local connection and it seemed to work, but dropped when my phone timed out.

Going to have to spend some more time with it!

Had to charge the unit overnight (says it can take up to 4 hours), but it was ready to go today.  Turned it on and started setting it up…no issues at all.

Put in all my clubs, a little impressed that Rapsodo had my irons (circa 2011) listed in the system!

I did have to do a firmware update, which did take a little bit of time.

Just clicking through some of the features, looks like the Rapsodo will work with Titleist Pro V1/V1x in the near future!

This was my experience recently so I'm wondering if they broke the app somehow. It used to be rock solid for me on direct connection. Hopefully if lots of people report this it'll get fixed!

Im hoping it was just operator error, going to give it another shot today…we’ll see!

One tip I've heard is to the delete the app from your phone and reinstall it, so could be worth a shot. Just be aware you'll lose any unsynced shots/sessions.

If I have more issues, might give that a shot…thanks.

I don’t have much data in there yet, so it would be a big loss if stuff disappears at this point.

MLM2 is being charged!  If the weather stays suitable, I’ll be trying it out this afternoon.  Unboxing is done, photo shoot is complete.  I’ll have the unboxing along with first thoughts up tonight.

Did a very quick speed check today, only took a couple of swings with the light SuperSpeed.

A little humbling…thought my speed was much greater than this!  There was no warmup or stretching, so we’ll blame it on that!

I think my issues yesterday were operator error…direct connected this afternoon and it was straight forward and came right up.  Haven’t tried the other functions this way yet, but will soon!

Will also charge the Mevo for some comparisons.

The Mevo is definitely smaller…

You beat me to the size comparison!

The Mevo fit nicely in the bag and didn’t have any issues carrying it for the round after.  Haven’t fit the Rapsodo in the bag yet.

@TJ Hall Does it really take 4 hours to charge the first time?  I might have to wait to use it until tomorrow.  It’s been charging for about an hour.  Going to be cutting it close.

I started charging mine at 8 pm and went to bed at 10 pm and the light was still on.  Woke at 6 am and the light was out, so I can say it’s somewhere between 2 and 10 hours.

I know that doesn’t help you much!

Great!  2-10 hours!  Awesome…I’ll most likely have to wait until tomorrow to finish first impressions then.

Obviously bag dependent, but the MLM2Pro fits perfectly in the ball pocket of my bag.

What bag are you using?

I have a Ping Hoofer stand bag, it has a long (full length) pocket on one side that it should fit in.  I don’t keep much in there (rangefinder, sunglasses, gloves and some drinks/snacks) so thinking there should be enough room for it.

Mizuno BRD4 - think of it as a Hoofer with a few extra perks but slightly lower build quality (putter well, lots of small pockets to sock stuff away in, cart pass through). The MLM2 in its carry case fits snugly but perfectly in there. I only house it there when going to the range, as I don't try to use it while out playing a full round.

Long term, I don’t think I would take the Rapsodo to the course while playing, generally use any range time before a round just to get loose.  So for just going to the range for practice, I don’t see it being a big issue.

Mine came in Friday as well and I have had to wait as I we just got back from vacation and had things be a little busy. Should have some time to work though unboxing and first impressions soon! Looking forward to getting this going and have some extra RPT balls on the way from @Berg Ryman to give me plenty of balls for testing.

Got mine up and running for the most part last night. One last thing to do so I can get some initial testing, and some unboxing photos. Should have my write up updated in the near future!

Also on another note, I was looking through Amazon yesterday to find a stencil to draw the Rapsodo ball pattern on a Pro V1 say or any ball I like. As I started clicking on them I noticed some odd things about the images and write up about their product. See if you can notice some word choice,

Ok, so I guess many people don't know the word is axis not access. So I figured I would check out the one proudly labeled "Made in the USA" and all I can say is what are these "golfers" doing ?!?!?!?!

What type of golf club is this?!

@ejgaudette and @Owengeorge13, what devices are you using for the interface?

I was using my phone for the first couple of checks, but it is small and not very easy to read, have been looking at getting a tablet with a larger screen.

Ipad is definitely easier to read!  I used my iPhone outside yesterday.  But when going through the data I use my iPAD.  Going to try and do at least 50 swings a day and speed train 3 days a week.  I’m going to dig deep into the whole app today and take a look at the new features.

Do you know what model iPad you have?

We had an old iPad (first gen mini) that still works but wouldn’t load the Rapsodo app…not surprised for how old that thing is!

Just and Iphone for me in-session and will likely use the browser based R-cloud to review data in more detail after sessions.

Used the target practice session today.  
20 shots 8i; 20 shots 6i

Just had a great time!  This is fantastic.  Everything worked right away.  I saw some unusual club head speeds pop up from time to time.  But everything else was spot on.  My plan is to try something different each day.  I also tried the speed training, once I look over that data I’ll post again.
