jolter1
Just wondering what others do, as I am always tempted to adjust the heads of my woods and hybrids as to how I am playing over that particular period of time. I guess this might be a fault of mine since moving away from the old static club heads. Does anyone else have this "temptation" or do you find your setting and it stays there no matter how you have played throughout the season. I always love to adjust as it can always be better.(probably from my racing background haha) But from what I've found unless wind is a big factor head settings wont change much unless your swing drastically changes. Swing tendencies usually are what they are even with minor changes to the swing the tendencies are the same so the head wont need much movement more the target alignment/ ball alignment/tee height for what the swing gives you that specific day. At least that's my take on it and how I've approached this now after trying every setting/weight over and over to get back to the same end results... GolfSpy_APH
A decent amount, however the GT clubs I got as they were proper fit I have left alone. Maybe in the off-season I will play around a bit, but for now they stay as is and I won't even both trying other shafts till afterwards. Does anyone else have this "temptation" or do you find your setting and it stays there no matter how you have played throughout the season. I used to change them quite a bit depending on the conditions of the day. If it was windy I would tend to turn them down in loft and then if it were raining I would turn them up for more airtime and hopefully more total distance. However, I found that the left and right dispersion changed pretty drastically when adjusting the lofts. I'm assuming this is because adjusting the loft on most clubs also adjusts the lie angle. Now, I have a setting that I was fit for, and I stick with that for all conditions. sp0rtsfan86
Exact opposite. My golf teacher grabbed my club and adjusted something the other day for the first time since I got the driver. As much as I'm tempted, I think I'm more worried about overcomplicating things. Plus I don't know much about switching angles and which way to change it for a certain ball flight. The TXBexar
I usually only tinker with my driver, as it's the only truly adjustable club I have, but I try to limit it to just adjusting the draw/fade weight in the back of the Head. I've found adjusting the hosel settings on the fly can drastically change the way the ball striking seems to occur for me, thus affecting accuracy of shots off the Tee. It seems to be because of how the club's lie angle will change more when you start turning these up/down a degree, or opening/closing the head to set more draw/fade, so those are set from what I learned when I got the club fitted as I'm clearly not good enough to adjust my swing to take advantage of those quick changes yet. However, adjusting the draw/fade weight has helped a decent bit on the range for those days where I can't seem to cut the hard fade out of my drive, or the wind is pushing the ball more so back into me, so I need to use that fade to help get the ball to land where I'm aiming. AP Major
I do like to dial in settings, but I'll tend to leave well enough alone once I find some consistency. It also helps me to look inward when things don't go right at some point because I know the club won't change as much as I might. I also find lead tape - on any club - has worked better for me versus fiddling with weights and/or adapter settings, when present. chris51
Idk if this helps but from my tinkering with my driver and hybrid I tend to slice so I have my setting with the face closed more if you draw ball more u might wanna open ur face up just go to the range and adjust till u find what u like if that doesn't work out you can always go back to standard setting. My driver and hybrid literally have no more slicing to them. Quote chris
Josh Parker
I have messed with settings from time to time but it's only if I'm really struggling with something. Off Map Oscar
This afternoon I was playing around on my sim trying to straighten out my drives. Switched over to the trajectory optimizer on my flight scope and it said if I had another 2 degree of dynamic loft I'd get another 10 carry. Well I turned the head up the 1.5 degree and I'll be damned if I didn't get another 10 to 20 on my round this afternoon.
