I'm a self admitted 'lurker' on MGS for several years.  I typically read the articles that catch my interest from the emails, but haven't ever really ventured in to the forums for some reason.  I haven't entered the contests because I firmly believe it's a reward for the contributing members, not just the 'hit & run' types.

 

I'm very active on a similar golf forum, but I have to admit MGS has superior articles and indepth reviews.  With that, comes a larger group of people and I figured I'd just get lost in the shuffle.  The smaller site I regularly visit, I'm pretty well known there and it's definitely a family feel.  I thought - don't doubt that isn't the case here, until I try it for myself and find out.

 

Anyhow - I'm a 25+ year golfer, retired Air Force, single-digit handicapper.  My home is in Colorado Springs, CO.  I've written several indepth reviews for golf clubs, balls and training aids.  I played 118 times in 2014, 128 times in 2013.  I like to get out there and have played at least once every month of the year for almost 11 years now.  That's a pretty good trick when you live in Colorado.  But, when there's a will - there's a way!!

Golf, much like most here, is my #1 passion.  I live and breath golf and can talk about it endlessly.  I do an annual golf vacation with about a dozen guys - this year we're heading back to Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama's Capitol Hill, playing 7-1/2 rounds in 5 days. 

 

I just wanted to say hello and look forward to getting to know some of you.

Hi Space, welcome to the forum! I think most everyone starts like you. Some stay, some go. I joined about 18 months ago, and I have had a lot of fun here. Great people! I've learned a lot from everyone here. No pressure, just participate as much as you like.

 

On the "bucket list" thread the RTJ Golf Trail is on my list. Enjoy!

Good to hear from someone from the Springs. Lived there for five years working as the Sports Information Director at Colorado College, the Sports Information Office at the USAF Academy, and as a contract photojournalist for the U.S. Olympic Committee. Loved living there; really mss the place. Favorite course was at the Broadmoor. Glad to see you on board.
